Even as an almost direct port of the Wii version, this game is still worth a purchase. Enough additions to stand on its own. If you don’t have the Wii version, then this is a must add for the Switch. The individual joycon controllers are a little strange, but easy enough to get used to. There’s so many courses and characters, that you’ll be entertained for hours, and when you are tired of it, it’s still a great party game with friends.

I also played this game on the Wii U, which was also great. This version of the game adds a few enhancements, such as changes to the way that items are held, and adding new characters. The biggest change is in the new battle modes, which are great fun. Overall, if you got your fill on Wii U, you may need to do mental calculus to decide if a portable version is worth it to you. If you never played the original, This a great game to get on the Switch!

This game is a great game. Hours of fun for the entire family. A new experience for a old family favorite.

I didn’t purchase this on the date indicated, my Best Buy account was hacked and this is one of the games the hackers bought. However, I already have this game so I can review it. My kids loved it for awhile but, through no fault of this game, they have moved on from it to other games. It provided a lot of fun while they were into it.

Fun for the whole family, easy to set up multiple players

I bought Mario Kart for the Wii U and put in dozens of hours alone and with friends and family. Easily one of my favorite games on the console. When I got a Switch I wasn't sure if it would be worth to re-buy it but it is 100% worth every penny. The changes and upgrades feel notable when you're playing and the added characters, battle mode, and overall extra polish make the best Mario Kart experience since Mario Kart 64.

Mario Kart 8 was already a fantastic game when it was released on the Wii U last year. Now being able to play it on the go, away from your tv, what's not to like. The game is pretty much the same except for added dlc maps and a fine tuned battle mode this game has a ton of replay ability. If you're one of the lucky ones to have been able to get your hands on Nintendos latest console, the Nintendo Switch, then this is a must have game for all ages.

It's great on every way and works with all the extra characters and every character and track is unlocked.
