Purchased the original Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U when it first came out. I was very happy back then with the purchase, the balance changes, the new tracks and mechanics, as well as the character roster. Now the Deluxe version takes the original version, adds the DLC purchases, and enhances the experience by tweaking game modes and balancing the mechanics even further. The multiplayer feature (both and online and wireless play) is quite cool. It's definitely always a party when a group of us play this game. I highly recommend it.

I have been playing Mario Kart since the SNES days. Mario Kart 64 was the first of the series I purchased with my hard earned money from my first job that I played for months on end. I admit that having previously purchased Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U there was some hesitation in buying the new "remastered" game. But in all Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's seemingly small feature upgrades add a lot to the game. In my case the updates were well worth the double dip. If you've been away from the series and or missed it entirely on Wii U there should be no question on whether to buy (so long as you enjoy the racing, kart genre). But if you are on the fence consider the following: -Eight battle stages with four modes. This was the greatest omission from the Wii U version that is rightly fixed now. The modes are great, with Renegade Roundup being the new addition and my personal favorite. -Full 1080p 60fps on TV and 720p 60fps on the go. It ran at 720p 59fps on Wii U. So the game is sharper and very smooth running on the Switch. Multiplayer dips to 30fps with three or four players, but no different than Wii U. -Best handheld iteration of a Mario Kart ever made. -Double item blocks return, you can now get a defensive item and a coin or two defensive items. This really does make the game much better. -New characters and karts: Dry Bones, Bowser Jr. Inkling Boy, Inkling Girl. There is one additional character that is unlocked by getting a gold cup on every cup available, I won't spoil it here. A quick Google search will tell you who it is. -All DLC characters and levels included and unlocked from the start including 200cc mode. There is still a progression through racing and getting coins to earn kart parts. -Local wireless, LAN (with adapter), and online play are all available.

Love me some Mario Kart. Had the original all those years back and this one is still just as fun. Great tracks, great characters, and graphics that make it look fantastic. Definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoyed the previous versions or just wanna try something new.

Another fun Mario Kart game. I like this new chapter in the Mario Kart series and super fun to play with a lot of new tracks to conquer. Im not liking the fact that you have to buy an expansion pack in order to play the newer tracks that are teased in the menu or that this game seems to be a very helpful player IA. What I mean by this is that if you're running at the front of the pack during a race then you don't get the fun weapons to use or at least defend yourself with. It should be an even distribution of items for the players to use. Hopefully they will fix that in the next game. Still a lot of fun to play and the graphics and controls are amazing.

Hours, & hours & hours & hours. etc....of fun you will not be disappointed. Warning do not play with fuddy duddies... they will get annoyed and stomp offf but this is so much fun you will continue on your own. Maybe even skipping dinner, &, lunch and breakfast, and lunch again...it is very addictive..

The best four player madness for my brother, my wife, and our five year old son! With all of the different modes like Grand Prix and Battle, tons of tracks, and so many characters and carts to choose from, my family is eager to play every night during this terrible pandemic. A great way to spend some quality time together while briefly forgetting about your troubles.

This game was already a great title for the Wii U but for the switch its amazing. With being able to take it anywhere the Switch is a great platform for Mario Kart. The game has been improved from being able to hold 2 items, bringing back battle mode, dlc included and a few new characters. Its great to see Splatoon included in the Kart world. The battle mode is fun, some battle themes are better than others. This is a great addition to the Switch catalog.

First let's get this part out of the way....yes it is a "upgraded" version of Mario Kart 8 from the Wiiu. But that is a great thing! As someone who bought, and played MK8 on the wiiU (along with all the dlc) I was initially skeptical about MK8Deluxe for the switch. Should I buy it..is it worth it? YES! No matter if you are getting it for the 1st time or you are a repeat customer (like me) it's worth the purchase. New game battle modes immediately set the game apart from its predicesor. They are something my 7yr old and myself find our selves going back to and playing vs each other. The ability to play it on the tv.split screen or on the go split screen or linked to another switch are fabulous! Take karting on the go wherever you are! And while you have to collect coins in races to unlock new kart parts. All the characters and tracks are unlocked from the start. This is good and bad. I like to play to "try to unlock" so it was a little disappointing..but to have them all from the start was great esp. with my 7yr old being able to pick whoever and race wherever. This is the second great must have game for the switch.(after ZELDA). If Nintendo's 1st party games stay at this quality(which I fully expect) then this 1st year of TE switch will be awesome. If your looking for fast paced fun, and lots of yelling at each other for throwing that blue or red shell just at the right moment to cost your opponent the win then I can't suggest MARIO Kart 8 deluxe enough! Go get it!

If your a Mario Kart enthusiast then get it, it keep the same game play with new maps and characters i keep loving every edition they come out with

Best game ever, I wish that we had more room on all of our Consoles! We all need at least 10 terabytes to actually play games with enough room now! This game is so fun when you like to play racing games this will always be a fun experience for everyone!

Between this and Smash Bros, these are my big games to play with family. Plenty of characters to choose from and ways to modify your karts for racing to match your personality. Highly recommend for Switch 1 and 2 players.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is everything you could want in a Mario Kart game. Loads of characters to play and some you have to unlock. Tons of different tracks (about 30 or so), so you'll never get bored. Personally, i like bringing my Switch to work and using the joy-cons to control the karts. It's much more fun that way. The graphics are clean and the controls are on point. Best Mario Kart ever!

Another mario kart, another great racing game! You can never go wrong with playing as your favorite Nintendo characters and racing on obscure karts and wheels on some cool tracks! Add in all the power ups and it just makes it that much more fun when you beat your friend at the last second when you hit them with a red shell!

Mario Kart is fast, fun, and addictive, offering exciting races full of chaotic items and colorful tracks. It’s easy to pick up for beginners but still competitive for experienced players. Local and online multiplayer make it a blast with friends or family. Overall, it’s one of Nintendo’s most enjoyable series.

I have played all of the games in the Mario Kart series, and I can say this is my favorite out of them all. Honestly, how can it not be? 48 tracks, over 40 characters, and the gorgeous graphics to boot. Not to mention the live band for the earworm music. The selection of retro tracks throws in some nostalgia for the grown up kids like me. If you have a switch, this is a must own game.

After all these years, Mario Kart will always be my favorite game. And this is definitely my favorite version!
