Pros: Good family friendly game. Ability to play online with other people. A proper Battle Mode. Additional characters added. Amiibo compatible. Gorgeous game Cons: Paying full retail price again for a game that you probably bought at full retail price for the Wii U. Does feel like being swindled. Some of the characters feel like filler. Rose Gold Peach, baby Rosalina, Cat Peach, Tanooki Mario. Why not make these characters just alt costumes?

My kids love playing this on their switch. The kids can play this easily. They are 8 and 6. I highly recommend a two player but single is just as great.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a great expansion build to the original Mario Kart 8. The drive control for beginners is excellent to encourage all types of players to join in. Graphics on point. Sounds and music, thrilling. Tracks, Karts, and Characters, fun, vibrant, and each unique.

Mario Kart 8 was terrific on the Wii U, and this deluxe version is even better. With this version all of the DLC is included, giving you a total of 48 courses and 40+ characters to play as. But the best addition is the extensive battle mode featuring 8 arenas and 5 game types, replacing the disappointing battle mode from the original MK8 that was played on a few grand prix tracks. Having all the characters and courses available from the start is great if you've played the game before or if you're eager to jump into multiplayer, but because of that there's not much to unlock aside from kart parts. Also internet play now requires a paid subscription to Nintendo Switch Online, and you may not have as many controllers to use for multiplayer (most people had a few extra Wii remotes to play the original MK8 since they were inexpensive compared to joy-cons).

Mario Kart is left unmatched. Still a great game as it was on the Wii and have had lots of family fun with this game

Excellent game! Nice graphics and smooth gameplay. The kids enjoy customizing their rides and experiencing the immersive environment of each race track. Great for parties and family game time!

I have played some of the Mario Kart titles on various Nintendo Systems and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the Switch is my favorite for a number of reasons. Visually, it's stunning. The tracks are colorful and have a lot going on in the background, but not distracting. The shading when moving from a bright area to a dark or shadowy area is something to be appreciated. The characters are great, and especially more fun that you are able to race as a Mii with a costume after scanning a compatible amiibo. There is a fun selection of Nintendo characters, obviously mostly from the Super Mario series. I also enjoy playing updated versions of tracks from previous Mario Kart games from other consoles such as SNES, 3DS, etc. Tracks inspired by other Nintendo games such as Excite Bike and The Legend of Zelda are great, especially with music inspired by those games. Great game to play, especially with others locally.

This is so addicting and the online multiplayer is great too. There's a ton of tracks and multiple characters to pick from. This is enjoyable for all ages and a solid pickup for any switch owner.

They did a fantastic job with this game! They incorporated a lot of the classic tracks from past consoles. The graphics and the effects are sweet. So many characters and carts/cart accessories available to use. Great fun when playing with others.

All the great features on Mario Kart but truly mobile and performing amazing. Great for at home co op couch play, or long flights/rides.

MK is king of kart racers. Everybody knows. It's the best handling, best graphics and most all around game there is of this type. The tracks are great and there are tons of characters to play as.

I had Mario Kart on the Wii U and thought that game was amazing. The switch version provides a few tweaks plus more maps and characters making it the best version available. Add the portability factor of the switch and getting this game is a no brainer.

Great game in the Mario Kart series. This is a deluxe version of Mario Kart 8 that was released for the Wii U. This game has all the great things that make Mario Kart fun. The tracks are great and varied with some popular tracks from older Mario Kart games. Controlling the game works great too. You can use the Joy-Cons, split the Joy-Cons for 2 player, and use the pro controller. They all work great and controlling the kart is responsive and tight. They also include a Smart controller mode which basically helps steer and accelerate, great for younger kids. They will feel they are actually racing and not have to worry about falling off the track. There a lot of content in this game: tracks, racers, different kart mods, and the online play is fun too. This is a must have for the Nintendo Switch!

This is a fantastic game by Nintendo. I played the original Mario kart 8 on the Wii U and I loved it. The expanded battle features, the ability to play anywhere, and the additional characters and karts are fantastic to play. I have no complaints at all.

There is more here than just a graphical update. The DLC from MK8's release on the Wii U is included, plus a new Battle mode from the older games. The online play seems a bit more stable (though still prone to failure) and the frame rate increase to 60 fps is very noticeable and welcome. It plays best with standard controls, the tilt controls are accurate, but require a lot of movement and yet are still quite sensitive. For beginners (or people just not good at the game) there are assistance tools in the game that help you steer and drive forward. I'd advice the average gamer to turn these off since the 3rd level drift boost is only available if they're off, but the tools are great for young kids or people who don't normally play. All in all, there is a great list of courses and characters, and enough custom race options to make this a great upgrade.

It’s Mariokart, what else can you say? It’s fun. If you liked previous version you’ll like this one. Lots of characters, cars, and tracks. You can also play online.

Fun game all around, great for online play will lock in in for hours

Mario Kart 8 is THE game for the family. It is fun, easy to learn, but hard to master. It brings a lot of family bonding time for our family during this pandemic. I started out late with Nintendo Switch and this game has been age like fine wine. Worth to give a try and as always, you can play with your friends and family. -Tracks: a lot of track to choose from and more cart to choose. I couldn't tell if I would be able to play all of these tracks by the next two months. -Graphics: are incredible good looking for a big TV screen or in the palm of your hands. -Tip and tricks: well, this game does not tell much for trick, but there is Youtube.
