I love this game! My kids and I used to play Mario Kart years ago, and this brings back many pleasant memories. Not to mention, it is just a fun game for the whole family. I was hoping it was like the original game and it is. My favorite characters are all there, and the games keep us entertained.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is pure fun. It’s easy to pick up, hard to put down, and perfect for playing with friends or family. It's great to play solo and even better with friends! Timeless game play and graphics. Whether you're a longtime fan or new to the series, this game is a must-have for the Switch.

There are enough upgrades here (including the ability to take it with you wherever you go) to make it worth a second look even if you own the Wii U version. And for those who never played MK8, it's an absolute must buy. The best racing the series has ever seen, tons of characters and tracks, revamped battle modes, two items at once, new modes for beginners to join in the fun, and more. Most fun I've had on the Switch after Zelda.

I have put off getting this game because I didn't see it as a big enough upgrade from Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U. Well there are some subtile upgrades within the game that keep things interesting. The biggest positive you will notice is the improved graphics detail you get since this is a title for the Nintendo Switch. I think this game is overpriced but it is one that we will have and play with the family for years.

Make sure you get the upgrade expansion to get the updated tracks. These new tracks are amazing and the graphics are great! We enjoy this game so much as a family!

Love this game!! I really wanted the new Mario Kart for the switch 2 but currently do not have that switch so this will do!

We bought Mario Kart 8 to be able to interact with our 5 year old grandson. We are not meeting in person due to Covid-19. Since we started using the game on line with him, we see him and have fun with him and his sister for hours everyday. Fun, Fun, Fun and easy to connect. A great game for grandparents and grandkids.

Mario Kart 8 is an AMAZING game. Does it need any improvement gameplay wise? Nope. But what if you make it a portable game that you can take with you almost anywhere you go? THAT is the game changer. All the DLC from the Wii U is already packed in here so you have extra content to play with. And yeah, just get this game if you don't have it and play along or with your friend(s). You'll always have a good time.

This review is based on viewing only as my son hasn't given up the controller to allow me to play myself. This is his new favorite game (obsession, more like) and would spend hours playing it if I let him. There are many characters to choose from in different vehicles. The best part are the scenes available...very cool graphics and cleverly designed landscapes for races. Definitely a go-to for the Switch!

My wife and I surprised our 3 daughters ages 18, 14. and 12 each a copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in their stockings Christmas morning for their also new Nintendo Switch Lite units so they could all play together. These girls pretty much played non-stop all of Christmas Day and into the wee hours of the next morning and have had so much fun and laughter with each other that it brought joy to our hearts to here them enjoying the game battling it out. They said they have had no glitches and thoroughly enjoy the game. They have played it everyday now for a week for at least 3-4 hours at a time while still on school break. Got the game on sale online on Christmas Eve at Best Buy for $45 a copy so it was like Buy 2 Get 1 Free in my book especially since our local BB (10 minutes from the house) had the copies in stock. I bought online drive straight to the store order was ready within 15 minutes curbside pickup was awesome as well. Waited less than 5 minutes for delivery. Within 1 hour I had ordered & purchased online, and received the games in time to stick in their stockings undetected. Best game investment of 2020 Christmas.

Great game. However, it was a great game when it came out the first time, on the wiiU. Not sure why Nintendo jacked people up another 59.99 for exactly the same game. But it is the best Mariokart game in the franchise. It's probably tied with Zelda as the best Switch game as of yet. -But if you have it for wiiU already, and you still play your wiiU, I wouldn't buy this for Switch (unless portability is a must)

Been a fan of Mario Kart since its Wii incarnation. This is easily the family favorite. I love the gameplay. The characters that I love are back. The circuits got a fresh update, but I was pleasantly surprised that my favorites are also back in this game (Moo Moo Meadows, Rainbow Road)

Mario Kart 8 deluxe is an update of the wii u game. So what do you get new? Battle mode that is alot of fun New characters Double item slots Increase to 1080p An assist mode for small children So before I start grab the mario and luigi steering wheels for the Switch if you have kids. This is the best way to play if you have one joycon and is really fun to boot. Remember the joy cons are split up for two player use. They are the best wheels for this and motion controls work like magic. My kids won't play without them, and it's easy enough a 3 yo can be competitive. And he is. As for the game itself. It's simply the best Mario Kart ever. Better than double dash or 64. Some of the courses feel much lower quality than others, but with some classic courses in here it can hit you with nostalgia. Well you are bound to have a good time. Splatoon characters fit surprisingly well, and battle mode is s no brainer. But let's not play down this is a full scale Mario Kart that can go to grandmas, and can be played while you drive there. If you have a Switch, the choice is simple. Buy it.

I have never had a Nintendo System and this is the first time that my son and I played the game. We have done 2 hours but you can tell this game is going to be played for months. It has more than 40 different tracks, more than 30 characters. It also incorporate an automatic system for little kids. It is just perfect for family time. I can't be happier of this purchase. A total masterpiece of video game entertainment.

I was waiting to review the Switch until after downloading the Super Smash Brothers. Let me tell you, when hooked up to a tv, it blew me away on the graphics and game play despite having lower specs than the highend game consoles. This is my son's switch but I often play it when he is not on.. would highly recommend as being able to take the console with you is worth the price alone.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe brings all the fun from Mario Kart 8 and all the extra DLC to the switch. It's an extremely fun and great racing game for individuals of all ages to simply pick it up and play. The ability to bring it and play it on the go with the switch makes this a no brainer even for those who are not long time fans of the Mario Kart series. I highly recommend this game to anyone with a Switch.
