I can tell you how great the graphics are, or how fun the gameplay is, or how neat it is to have Mario Kart on the train going to work. But I am going to tell you how it's converted my "video games are for kids" boyfriend into a "just one more race" kind of guy. We play Mario Kart a lot. Recently the power went out and we used the Nintendo Switch in tabletop mode. It was awesome and he finally got it as to why I love video games. He now asks to play all the time, and he's getting really good. My partner is 55 and I am 41, so this game is truly good for adults.

The nostalgia of MarioKart64 drew me to get this game, and it was worth it. It perfectly balances throw-backs to the old games with remakes of the original tracks, while adding new features such as new items, new characters, and gravity-defying courses.

This is a very fun game. It has new tracks and many tracks from older systems. The sensitivity of joycon and pro-controllers is spot on. Online mode is excellent!

First Mario Kart game I've enjoyed since the Gamecube's Doubledash. The controls are intuitive and the tracks are fun, great party game.

The Kids adore this as do we the parents. Highly recommend this game as it is even easy for a 4-yr old to play and offers hours of family fun!

This is a great racing game to play with the family. Ton of races to choose from and players. The graphics are amazing coming from the switch and me reviewing it in 2024. Hands down a great buy for everyone in your famiy to enjoy.

This is an awesome game for the SWITCH! Hours of fun with all the MARIO characters in different cars racing. The different tracks are great!

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for Nintendo Switch is an enhanced port of the original Mario Kart 8 for Wii U. Improvements include new playable characters, new items, the ability to hold two items at a time, all DLC from the Wii U version is included, revamped Battle Tracks that are way more fun to play, 1080p60 FPS in docked mode and 720p60FPS in portable mode. All of these changes and more make it awesome and very fun to play. One of the best Mario Karts.

Honestly this is the best Mario Kart you can get, unless you have a nostalgic attachment to an older one I can't see why you would consider any other one better. They fixed the awful battle mode in the Wii U version, and have all the dlc tracks included too. Just about my only complaint is not giving us the Mii Racing outfits free in this version, and maybe some nostalgic tracks I'd like to see back.

Got the game in its release date.... awesome game by far the best Mario kart and ability to have it in the big screen or portable makes it all that much better

I remember when I was a little one playing Mario Kart with my friends and family. I was terrible at first but over time became the best but no matter what the tracking shells still drive me crazy. lol I haven't had one since I was a kid so now that I have a little one of my own I have decided to get a switch along with this game to continue the tradition of playing games like this together because I've always been fond of these memories. Thank you for continuing to create this game after years and years.

This game has excellent graphics overall and makes owning a Switch extremely fun. It's your same Mario Kart from previous games with more tracks and vehicles.

So, yes, this is a slight upgrade to the Wii U version of Mario Kart 8, but no enough people bought a Wii U to really notice. This game is pure Mario Kart joy, and with the Switch, you will always have an extra controller for your friend to play with you on the train/plane/wherever. The game looks stunning and runs silky smooth in docked mode as well as handheld mode. The unlockables will keep you racing for hours and hours, and the online is very fun. Also, if you have friends that have a Switch, you can all play wirelessly without wifi. It's amazing.

With the new updated battle mode and all characters and levels unlocked when you get the game this makes it the ultimate version of the game and a must have.

Mario Kart is still the king of kart racing. The auto drive and auto steer make it easy for young children to enjoy it with the rest of the family!
