My wife and I play this all the time and we absolutely love it! We first played it at the arcade in Santa Cruz. After I bought a Switch it was one of the first games we had to get. We can play it for hours and never get bored. What a great game. A must buy for any Nintendo Switch owner.

This is the newest version of the classic Mario Kart series, redone for the switch. It's a great game as always, and my kids absolutely LOVE to play it (not gonna lie--I like to play it too, though they're better than me at it haha). If you've played 7 you've pretty much played this. So far as I can tell the difference is that there are some characters and races unlocked that weren't unlocked in previous versions. If you've never played you're in for a treat. This is a fun, fast, really cute racing game that is super kid-friendly, but is challenging enough for adults. My kids have never had a problem with the controls on other systems, and I'm happy to report it's easy to control on the switch as well. The designs of the tracks are well-themed, and choosing your car and racer is just a small part of what can be a pretty intricate game. The controls are simple enough that my 6-year-old has no problem with them. The tracks are fun to play and each presents it's own unique challenges. The graphics are great--everything is bright and fun. It's easy to make out what's going on at any given time, and the game itself is a lot of fun to watch! This is a fun, very family-friendly game that kids of all ages will enjoy! Now hopefully it won't be too long before Mario Kart 9 comes out...

I got this because as a kid who didn’t play this? But I wanted to get my kid into it and boy did it work. They not just did it right but the graphics and the mechanics are wonderful. Once you’re drifting you won’t drive without it. It’s action packed and I didn’t think 32 race option was needed in a game but I think we proved it was lol

The game is exactly what you expect it to be. It's Mario Kart 8 from the Wii U with all the DLC released unlocked from the start. The replayability for the solo player may take a slight hit since you're essentially playing the game to earn stars and trophies, which serve no functional purpose after unlocking Gold Mario/Kart/Wheels, and coins, which will net you a cart part every 30 coins earned. The replay value comes from the online modes available. Battle mode returns and for the most part, is as great as you remember it. The course variety is small but enough to feel unique with each arena. The only real flaw from the battle mode is the omission of classic "last man standing". Instead, when you run out of balloons, you simply respawn with three more at the cost of a significant portion of your points (which determines what place you finish when time runs out). The race mode is everything you'd expect. And with the addition of 200cc class and the ability to pick up two items at a time, it's pure chaos. If you own a switch, this and Breath of the Wild are must haves.

The game is great on the switch and includes all the dlc and some extra modes to make it worth buying again if you have it on Wii U already. But since it’s been out on the Wii U for a while now and it’s still full price I have to dock it a star.

I haven't played Mario Kart since the first one on 3DS and Double-Dash on the Gamecube, but this version is a lot of fun, especially with friends and family. I also love how many ways you can play locally. I have a Pro Controller so if you count the Joy-Cons I can play with 3x people now. The Joy-Cons with the grips attached are actually pretty good controllers, much better than expected.

With the Switch, it's easy to sync joycons. We had a friend come over and all he did was slide it into the switch and pull it out. Mario Kart for Switch has some really fun games and is way more responsive than any of the other motion controller console versions. Not having to unlock any characters may seem like there is nothing to work for in the game, but this was made for social fun!!!

Deluxe comes with the complete package including all the DLC characters and tracks. The game looks even better on Nintendo Switch at a smooth 60 FPS. As always you can drift, glide, and now collect up to two power ups to give you an edge over the competition. The multiplayer works great in local or online. MK8D is as fun as ever and I highly recommend it for anyone's Switch library.

Mario Kart has always been one of my favorite games when growing up. I was able to buy this gift for my nephew and he absolutely loves it! Even myself as an adult fine myself at the edge of the seat playing this game with it's new features that it had and not even to mention the graphics which are outstanding as well! I'm very satisfied and do recommend this a 100%!

Great graphics, fun action and very imaginative. Fun for the whole family.

Was really nervous about Mario Kart successively meeting its past standards. Past races being included in the game definitely helps, but all the original tracks stand on their own merits. The tire/kart system is a nice maturation of the series to keep from the oversimplistic weight-classes. New items are great, great anti-blue shell technology! Music can be a little wanting at times, but not terrible, online is super fun and seems to be promisingly endurable. The MarioKarTV replay thing is a little overindulgent. The optional smart steering is a stroke of genius. If it would have been mandatory it would have really ruined the game, but having it be optional is a great way to learn tracks. Right along with that, is having to finish tracks and not having the option to restart, just a nice touch. Switch additions are great also, glad the tilt controls are optional, because they can be fun, but hard to remember if you're using certain controller methods. That's about it I think. Love the point-unlock system. 200 cc is a cruel joke that if I ever master I'll almost be kind of embarrassed, but for its credit it is kind of like making Mario Kart into a cartoon style Gran Turismo. Too much for my taste, but I could see how it would be fun. Oh and the battle additions, that renegade thing with the piranha plant, really fun, sunshine really fun, coin runner.... meh, but the rest great additions.

Fun to play at any age Was playing with my39 yo brother and 5yo nephew. Controls are small Lets you see Mario Kart through the ages. Does want online bit to get some of the players

Nintendo Switch Mario Kart 8 Deluxe top foremost kart racing and battle game to date 2021! The expansive tracks choices and battle upgrade only help to secure this game as number 1 to date fun competition of Kart racing while simultaneously battling for position and victory! HIGHLY recommended!
