Mario Kart 8 deluxe is an update of the wii u game. So what do you get new? Battle mode that is alot of fun New characters Double item slots Increase to 1080p An assist mode for small children So before I start grab the mario and luigi steering wheels for the Switch if you have kids. This is the best way to play if you have one joycon and is really fun to boot. Remember the joy cons are split up for two player use. They are the best wheels for this and motion controls work like magic. My kids won't play without them, and it's easy enough a 3 yo can be competitive. And he is. As for the game itself. It's simply the best Mario Kart ever. Better than double dash or 64. Some of the courses feel much lower quality than others, but with some classic courses in here it can hit you with nostalgia. Well you are bound to have a good time. Splatoon characters fit surprisingly well, and battle mode is s no brainer. But let's not play down this is a full scale Mario Kart that can go to grandmas, and can be played while you drive there. If you have a Switch, the choice is simple. Buy it.

I was waiting to review the Switch until after downloading the Super Smash Brothers. Let me tell you, when hooked up to a tv, it blew me away on the graphics and game play despite having lower specs than the highend game consoles. This is my son's switch but I often play it when he is not on.. would highly recommend as being able to take the console with you is worth the price alone.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe brings all the fun from Mario Kart 8 and all the extra DLC to the switch. It's an extremely fun and great racing game for individuals of all ages to simply pick it up and play. The ability to bring it and play it on the go with the switch makes this a no brainer even for those who are not long time fans of the Mario Kart series. I highly recommend this game to anyone with a Switch.

Online play is really smooth. The extra characters from Zelda and Splatoon really spice things up and hint toward the possible future of this amazing franchise. Don’t miss out in this one! I've played all Mario Kart games. I believe this is the second best Mario Kart game after the Gamecube one. There are so many characters and vehicle customization to choose from. Lots of racing maps and battle maps... There's just so many hours of packed fun into this little cartridge. You will never go wrong with buying Mario Kart. Everyone from young kids to grandparents can pick it up and have a great time.

If you missed this on the Wii U, pick it up on the switch! Even if you picked it up on the Wii U two things make this a must buy: local lan multiplayer and a true battle mode. These two things make the repurchase a no brainer. Add in the ability to go mobile, and yeah. Every Sunday, we set up 4 Tv's and do 8 player local lan two people on a tv. So fun!

Great game for all ages. Easy to play. My 6 year old’s first video game and she learned quickly how to play and use the controllers.

Probably the best Mario Kart game since N64!! So many tracks and characters. Endless fun and competition. Looks fantastic and the controls feel great. Love this.

Although it is a shame those who previously purchased this game on Wii U, myself included, have to pay full price for this game again, I think it's worth the price of readmission. The revamped battle system and added features made it easy to justify this purchase. Not to mention, the ability to take it anywhere I go now. No buyers remorse here. This game is so good, I don't mind throwing my money at it.

This deluxe version of the Wii-U classic is well worth purchasing again for the Switch. Not only does it come with all DLC from the Wii-U, adds a few new features like double items and new characters, adds a real battle mode missing from the Wii-U version, but it also allows you to play this master piece on the go. It's a massive leap in on the go Mario Kart from Mario Kart 7 on the 3DS to this version.

Lots of fun with friends or even playing alone. All the favorites are here, lots of kart customization, and kots of memorable tracks from past MK games.

My children love the game. I was a little skeptical since I'm not familiar with games.

The game is great with friends I love playing it with others right next to me. Other than that, I agree with some of the other reviews that this game could use some major improvements. They have relegated the extra power ups so that you only get them if you are in certain positions. So if you are in first you never get shells or invincibility stars or anything like that. So, holding onto the first position puts you at a disadvantage? I would think everyone behind you gunning for your spot was enough of a disadvantage. Really, this does not affect the person in front as much as much as you would expect though because those behind him are now in a firing range where everyone has weapons and are busy slowing each other down. So, if you manage to get out front with a bit of headway its usually pretty easy to win otherwise if your stuck with the masses it can get pretty difficult. I would prefer a fully random draw of power ups. For the more battle royal missions they have added cheap gimmick spots into the maps such as one where there is a ramp onto the walls that players can just stop on top of and take a rest and others cant acually reach those players without going out of their ways to aim just for them.

I loved this game on the Wii U so I decided to pick it up for my Switch and it's even better. It comes with all of previously released DLC and a couple changes to the gameplay like being able to hold 2 items, smart steering which makes it harder to fall off and auto accelerate which makes the vehicle accelerate automatically, these are great for beginners and kids.

I recently bought a Switch and had been wanting to get this game as one of the first games for my Switch. Once I saw it on sale, I grabbed it up and play it weekly! I haven’t started multiplayer but I have enjoyed getting used to the tracks. If you have or are thinking of getting a Switch, add this to your list.
