I'm really happy they added back a battlemode. I would give this 5 stars, but I am deducting one because I already have this for Wii U and they refused to backport the changes for dual items/battlemode to the Wii U version.

Mario kart games have been around for so long and each iteration made things better. This is definitive Mario kart racing experience. Excellent for local play too (but be aware about fps drops if you have more than 2 players).

The graphics are nice and there's alot more levels to challenge each other. My only con to this game is that I wish more then 4 players can play locally. The classic Mario kart will always be #1 to me but they did a good job with this one
