Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a very fun, well-made game. If you have enjoyed previous versions of Mario Kart, this one will most likely go over well for you. There are a large number of tracks and characters in this version so there is an incredible variety. The main negative for me with this version is that everything is unlocked from the beginning of the game. That may be a good thing for some people, but I particularly enjoy the process of completing tasks to unlock new characters and tracks. There are unlockable components for the karts which is great, I just wish they had kept in the unlocking method that was present in the Mario Kart 8 version for Wii U. Speaking of the Wii U version, if you owned that one, there is not a significant reason to buy the Switch version unless you missed out on the DLC packs or would like to play against other friends with Switch systems.

I never understood why Mario Kart was the gold standard for cart games until I played it on Wii U. To me, it played a lot like other cart games, but the tracks, art, and just polished product really showed off why it's the complete package. On the Switch, you get something that looks and plays great, without any compromises. If you use your switch on the go, there is not reason not to own this.

A truely timeless game! A little sad you have to pay extra for some other cups, but there's so much to do in the gane is dorsnt matter

If you have played the Wii U version, you know what to expect. But the fact that this can be played on-the-go and it's the full version, not some dumbed down version like you'd get with past Nintendo portables makes it worth the buy even if you have the Wii U version like I do. If you have a Switch and are a true Mario Kart fan, this is a required purchase, Wii U or not.

It's Mario Kart, what more do I have to say? It is a bit more chaotic since you can now carry two items in game, but it adds to the fun... sometimes. It has all of the DLC from the WiiU version which is fantastic for anyone who missed out. The Inklings and the battle mode are great additions, I haven't really got the chance to try out battle mode but I've heard mostly positive things about it.

This is the ultimate evolution of Mario Kart (for now). It’s easy to play - especially with the accessibility options, which are not required, but great for little kids and newcomers. It being easy to play does not make it not challenging. There is a lot of complexity due to character and Kart part choice, and if you think you can do well on 200ccs right off the bat... be my guest.

Great game to play with the family for GAME night. We all love it and enjoy playing the different maps. We even have other families come over to compete. I would recommend to anyone looking to have fun playing video games with 1-4 players

Outstanding game. I haven’t played Mario Kart since my GBA and this definitely brought me back. Lots of new stuff to learn, but still super fun and nostalgic.

It’s great. It plays well and comes with some beginner help if you’re less experienced or have a young kid that wants to play. Online works well, not much lag from my experience. Playing it in tabletop with the two separated Joy-Con is fun and works better than you’d expect. Overall, I think it’s a must have for any Switch owner that likes multiplayer games.

With gorgeous visuals, and some of the best casual racing around, this deluxe edition is just the icing on the cake with all the extra DLC from the WiiU version. The visuals are just as good looking on the switch as it is on the TV, and up to two people can play with just the controllers that come with the console itself. Take the plunge and pick it up, even if you purchased it for the WiiU!!

This game is so fun to play. Everyone in the family loves it even my 5-year-old granddaughter. Works well with the wireless controllers.

I can't believe how awesome this game looks. I had it on Wii U and was on the fence about getting it but I know im not dusting off that console anytime soon so I got this on the switch and I'm glad I did. Even on the switch's screen the game is noticeably better. Mix that with the traditional mario kart fun and you have hours of multiplayer entertainment in the home or on the go.

This is a deluxe version of a game that came out for the Wii U back in 2014, and it’s STILL fun all these years later. Probably the best all around Mario Kart of them all, and now in 2022 Nintendo is releasing new tracks for download, so still worth picking up.

This game is one of the few must have for the Switch of all ages. The game has settings to make it easier for little ones and can still be challenging to adults. The courses are fun and there is a lot of characters. It's the same as the Mario kart on the Wii U but the price is okay when you know you're getting a game everyone can play and will enjoy.

This game is perfect for playing at home or for taking it on the go (like long car rides). People will enjoy playing alone or with others. You can play online, or you can play it with friends locally. It has additional tracks that are a blast to play on. This game is definitely worth the price, and everyone who has a Switch should get this game.

Mario Kart 8 deluxe is an amazing racing game. It's surprising to me that Nintendo can continually improve the Mario Kart franchise. They just keep getting better and better. The only complaint I have with the game is that all of the maps and characters are unlocked out of the box. I wish I had to earn them; it would add more value to the single player content.
