This blows all the other versions out of the water. It is an upgrade from the Wii U version but do keep in mind all the characters and tracks come unlocked from the start so that may be a pro or con for you.

It's simply the best Mario Kart made thus far. If you like any of the previous entries, you will love Mario Kart 8! Add Switch portability, and you've got yourself a great time anywhere you want to play!

This is an update of the very excellent mario kart 8 from the Wii U. If you loved it on the wii u then you'll love it on the switch. Excellent graphics, tons of tracks, updated battle mode, and lots of fun for everyone.

I've skipped the last couple of Mario carts (double dash was the last one for me). This game is true to form, easy to play for the young ones, great polish on an overall classic game formula. Another hit for the switch.

Played Mario Kart on the wii and this game is a continuation of the wii version, but with MUCH better graphics. We also start with more tracks to play and more options to customize the vehicle you race with.

Love it. It has a ton of tracks and is fun to play with friends.

What can I say. If you love Mario Kart, you'll love this game. Great graphics, gameplay and fun. It's made even better now that you can take it wherever you want since it's on the Switch. Must buy if you own a Switch.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for the Nintendo Switch is the kind of game that brings people together from kids to adults. Parents can play this game with their kids, kids can play with their friends, and adults can play it with their family. Tip- You might already know this but when you're racing and you drift at a corner long enough your exhaust sparks and ignites a speed boost. I wish someone told me that a long time ago. Also, if you play with two or more players it only recognizes one joy con per person. Please correct me if they changed it. CONCLUSION- Racing against friends is fun and the best mode is battle where you have to pop the other players balloons to win hitting them with red, green, blue shells and more.

I owned Mario cart 8 on Wii U and all the dlc. I love the new battle modes and the splatoon map and characters. I like being able to take this anywhere and challenge others. There's no other racing game as fun as this.

Sold my Wii U version so I could get the switch version for one main reason: portability. I cannot believe I can play this game as a handheld. Amazing graphics and gameplay and some of the best tracks in the franchise.

Tons of tracks, very well polished mario kart experience. Still a ton of fun to play with friends. Would like to see the series have some new developments as it has become a reliable but stale formula.

Very fun multi player game. Best feature is changing different maps and characters. Love the part as one start collecting coins its more fun using them

It's Mario Kart. The same one that you played on WiiU, but with more stuff, and portable. If that sounds good, jump on it because it's a beautiful, perfect port. If that sounds like a waste of money, resist buying it.

Fun party game! I just wish nearly everything wasn’t already unlocked. There’s essentially no story and no motivation to keep grinding in the game!

Mario kart is lots of fun. Mario kart can be played by all ages too. I highly recommend this game. You can play it competitively or just for pure fun. The graphics are really cool too.

Many have said this is easily the best Mario Kart ever. I won't argue with that and I can't think of any major flaws in the game but I'm undecided if it is my personal favorite. This is an expanded version of the Wii U title but a) not that many people bought the Wii U and b) this version is clearly better. It has battle mode (absent in the Wii U version) and is better balanced then the previous iteration. What really amazes me, and this is a small thing but the two player mode split screen is vertical yet you never feel that you can't see enough of the track ahead of you. I guess the only gripe I might have is that it's hard to play using a single joy con but you can buy more controllers to solve that. I highly recommend this game.
