This is mostly the same as the previous couple installments but it's for the Switch and includes some new features such as multiple items and Splatoon characters. I believe some modes may be new too. The online multiplayer is also more challenging than vs cpu. Local multiplayer was simple with the joycons and some inexpensive wheel grips. Though, it still required changing the layout through the system, not the game. Ultimately, I prefer the Pro Controller with this game most if you can. Though it's not necessary at all, I think the game is more responsive to its precision.

You can't go wrong with Mario Kart. It's for fun all ages. Easy pick up and play for kids as well with assisted driving. Well worth it if you have a Switch.

I own a Wii U and Mario kart 8 and that didn't stop my from trying Mario kart 8 Deluxe. I love the new modes and having it in portable is a dream come true.

Great game for the whole family. Kids had a blast racing and battling each other.

The game seems almost the same as the previous version for the Wii U. Minor changes, new characters look great, my 6 year old son loves the gane as well.

Great game, my 5 year old loves it as much as my wife. Easy to play and has all of the original stuff built in. Highly recommend.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a great game and great buy if you have a Nintendo Switch. If you have and are happy with the Wii U version though you can afford to skip this one as the new content that they added is barely much to talk about. It would have been great if Nintendo did some forward compatibility upgrades for people who had already played these on Wii U. Really this is just the Wii U version with some perks some due to the portability of the Nintendo Switch some to certain things being unlocked. If you haven't played the game on the Wii U this is definitely a must buy.

I love this game, my son who is 3 loves it too!! We play together and he can understand the controls enough to finish the race, even winning some of them.

What can you say - it's a Mario Kart game and it's as fun as ever. Some new twists on tracks and being able to hold multiple items is nice.

A new Nintendo system launch doesn't feel right unless it comes with a new Mario Kart. Even though this is just a port of the game for the Wii U, it adds all of the DLC add ons and even brings back some things that started in the very first Mario Kart. I always break this game out when friends come over and it never fails to be fun. My only complaint is that it shouldn't be a full price game just for a port from an older system, even if it has new DLC add ons, most people had to buy it twice for the full price just to have more games in their Nintendo Switch library.

All characters except for two are playable from the beginning and auto steering is great for beginners. Super fun for those who are more competitive too!

Pretty fun iteration of the series. Very enjoyable, looks great, however, it does not offer much to those of us who played the wii U version a lot. From that perspective the $60 price tag can be tough to justify. The updates to the visuals make the game look great, especially on the Switch screen. Plenty of people seem be online already so the community is active and fun.

This game is a lot of fun. It is easy to learn and play and is perfect both docked and on the go. Playing with friends makes for a very fun night.

As a owner of Mario Kart 8 on the WiiU I was hesitant about purchasing again, but after playing it on the Switch I'm comfortable saying it's completely worth it. New content is limited to some customizations, characters and the biggest change, new and expanded battle mode. Battle mode was sorely lacking in the WiiU version and welcome to have. And, in case you're wondering, you don't have to unlock any levels or characters again. This version not only looks great, but also plays fantastic and the online works perfectly. Definitely worth your time and money.

My three boys absolutely love this game. Even my 4 year old can play the game and navigate through the options. Great buy, I would buy it again.
