It’s like the classic Mario Kart from the doubl dash days of the game cube. The levels have some nostalgia to them but are completely over hauled. The battle mode is my favorite.

This is an already must own title for the Wii U. Improved versus battle, included expansions, and portability make this a must own title for the Switch.

The different racing speeds are great for racing with people who have varying levels of skill. The smart drive options that keep you from falling off of the track and from having to press the accelerate button make sure that you're only focused on having fun. There's also a great deal of options for vehicle customization so that no race is ever the same as another. It even has all of the legacy tracks; can you say "nostalgia"? They're updated with the gravity defying tracks of the recent games to give them a fresh feel. The battle modes are crazy fun too. There's just no way to hate this game, to be honest. 10/10 Nintendo delivers every time.

Fun game, love that you can even play with friends by each using one part of the joycons. That's a nice little addition.

I dumped tons of hours into the Wii U version and have started that all over again with a version that is fully mobile. This is some of the most fun you'll have playing a video game.

Had to buy it one we played it at this past Father’s Day get together. Recommend it. Lots of fun.

My family has been playing Mario kart Wii for many years and finally decided to upgrade to the switch. Awesome graphics and hours of fun with the family. Great game!

Fun and filled with many courses that it doesn't become repetitive to soon. As far as characters they have more than enough of the Nintendo Crew that you'll enjoy all the wacky movements and funny vehicles that you'll always have a custom car no mater what mix you chose. I play with a 12 6 and 4 year old on split screen and we have a great time. To add fun the racing wheel adds a lot more "realism" to the kids to enjoy the feel of "driving" . Haven't gotten the actual race wheel but will soon.

Another solid entry in the Mario kart series. Once you start playing it's like can't stop.

This is a great way to get the whole family together and quickly race to the point of hating each other with a fiery passion. Go from 0 to tears in 2 laps flat. Being the king of my castle, I won every race because I threatened violence if they didn’t let me win. Just kidding, they beat me repeatedly and my daughters laughed and laughed as they zoomed by me, threw turtle shells at me, and zapped me repeatedly. No amount of bullet bills could save me the shame of losing over and over and over again. Good times!!!

We love this game, it’s always a fun way to play with my family and everyone can play. Love how they have new tracks and old ones too!

I had this for Wii U on release and yet I've played this more than that version. This has all characters unlocked and also the ability to hold 2 items. Well worth the price tag.

[Employee of bestbuy] I’ve always been a fan of the Mario Kart series and honestly Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has outdone itself and brought the old to the new and the new to the old. Retro tracks giving you that nostalgic feeling while also experiencing new features on them. If you’ve liked Mario Kart, this is definitely one of the best in the series
