It’s great. It plays well and comes with some beginner help if you’re less experienced or have a young kid that wants to play. Online works well, not much lag from my experience. Playing it in tabletop with the two separated Joy-Con is fun and works better than you’d expect. Overall, I think it’s a must have for any Switch owner that likes multiplayer games.

This is the ultimate evolution of Mario Kart (for now). It’s easy to play - especially with the accessibility options, which are not required, but great for little kids and newcomers. It being easy to play does not make it not challenging. There is a lot of complexity due to character and Kart part choice, and if you think you can do well on 200ccs right off the bat... be my guest.

It's Mario Kart, what more do I have to say? It is a bit more chaotic since you can now carry two items in game, but it adds to the fun... sometimes. It has all of the DLC from the WiiU version which is fantastic for anyone who missed out. The Inklings and the battle mode are great additions, I haven't really got the chance to try out battle mode but I've heard mostly positive things about it.

This game is one of the few must have for the Switch of all ages. The game has settings to make it easier for little ones and can still be challenging to adults. The courses are fun and there is a lot of characters. It's the same as the Mario kart on the Wii U but the price is okay when you know you're getting a game everyone can play and will enjoy.

With gorgeous visuals, and some of the best casual racing around, this deluxe edition is just the icing on the cake with all the extra DLC from the WiiU version. The visuals are just as good looking on the switch as it is on the TV, and up to two people can play with just the controllers that come with the console itself. Take the plunge and pick it up, even if you purchased it for the WiiU!!

I can't believe how awesome this game looks. I had it on Wii U and was on the fence about getting it but I know im not dusting off that console anytime soon so I got this on the switch and I'm glad I did. Even on the switch's screen the game is noticeably better. Mix that with the traditional mario kart fun and you have hours of multiplayer entertainment in the home or on the go.

Mario kart brings me fun memories from my childhood. I love playing and being able to share these experiences with my kids. My boys love this game. All of us play as a family and it’s so much fun.

Its mario kart!! Great fun with others or by yourself. If you want to play online you need to be really REALLY good (dont know how they go that fast). Its quite frustrating at first but its fun to hinder other’s good runs!!!

The quality is so amazing to see. Beautiful, vibrant colors and wonderful characters and worlds to race through…what’s not to love about Mario Kart?

Lots of fun but I recommend getting larger controllers and not just use the built-in Switch controllers when playing multi-player as they are too small.

My wife and I play this all the time and we absolutely love it! We first played it at the arcade in Santa Cruz. After I bought a Switch it was one of the first games we had to get. We can play it for hours and never get bored. What a great game. A must buy for any Nintendo Switch owner.

This is the newest version of the classic Mario Kart series, redone for the switch. It's a great game as always, and my kids absolutely LOVE to play it (not gonna lie--I like to play it too, though they're better than me at it haha). If you've played 7 you've pretty much played this. So far as I can tell the difference is that there are some characters and races unlocked that weren't unlocked in previous versions. If you've never played you're in for a treat. This is a fun, fast, really cute racing game that is super kid-friendly, but is challenging enough for adults. My kids have never had a problem with the controls on other systems, and I'm happy to report it's easy to control on the switch as well. The designs of the tracks are well-themed, and choosing your car and racer is just a small part of what can be a pretty intricate game. The controls are simple enough that my 6-year-old has no problem with them. The tracks are fun to play and each presents it's own unique challenges. The graphics are great--everything is bright and fun. It's easy to make out what's going on at any given time, and the game itself is a lot of fun to watch! This is a fun, very family-friendly game that kids of all ages will enjoy! Now hopefully it won't be too long before Mario Kart 9 comes out...

The game is exactly what you expect it to be. It's Mario Kart 8 from the Wii U with all the DLC released unlocked from the start. The replayability for the solo player may take a slight hit since you're essentially playing the game to earn stars and trophies, which serve no functional purpose after unlocking Gold Mario/Kart/Wheels, and coins, which will net you a cart part every 30 coins earned. The replay value comes from the online modes available. Battle mode returns and for the most part, is as great as you remember it. The course variety is small but enough to feel unique with each arena. The only real flaw from the battle mode is the omission of classic "last man standing". Instead, when you run out of balloons, you simply respawn with three more at the cost of a significant portion of your points (which determines what place you finish when time runs out). The race mode is everything you'd expect. And with the addition of 200cc class and the ability to pick up two items at a time, it's pure chaos. If you own a switch, this and Breath of the Wild are must haves.
