If you're a fan of Mario Kart you'll want to pick this up. Hours of fun to be had unlocking a slew of new characters and parts for your kart.

This game is great for all skill levels as well as age levels. Starts you off easy and then really gets tough as you go. The various tracks are different and beautiful to look at. They offer some not so familiar challenges and looks. The multiplayer online feature also makes this game great. Over all you can't go wrong with Mario Kart 8.

Pretty good and fun game. I love the finally we can see HD graphics the only bad things a least for me. Is that all maps are classic. don't give me wrong but If I buy a new console is for new things not recycle for old generations. I think old maps should be in DLC and call "classic maps" for old memories. other on that is a great game.

I have owned a Wii U since day one. Mario Kart is the game I have played the most on the Wii U. With the new DLC tracks that came out, there is a total of 40 tracks. The game also supports the new Amiibo figures to unlock new Mii racing outfits. This is the best local multiplayer game on any system along with Smash Bros for Wii U.

Truly a standout multiplayer title for the Wii U, Mario Kart 8 does NOT disappoint. Graphics look great in HD with no slow down or stuttering. Game plays tight when racing and rewards skilled drivers. The powerups can feel a bit unfair but that's Mario Kart. Wii U Tablet required to start the game up so make sure it's fully charged.

Fun Mario Kart game much like its predecessors. Love the added customization of the karts, even if mostly superficial since some of the kart parts have the same values. The gameplay is the same from previous games which is a good thing. The ability to play solely from the gamepad is nice, allowing others to watch TV at the same time.

A great edition to an established franchise. Graphically very well done, audio sounds great, and most importantly gameplay is fun. Online is done very well, outside of the lack of support of in game voice chat. There are no dedicated courses to battle mode which is my only complaint. You will not be disappointed with this purchase.

This game has great graphics, great multiplayer, and is just plain fun. If you own a Wii U, this is a must have. If you don't own a Wii U, I suggest you get the Mario Kart bundle because Nintendo is going to be coming out with some great games this holiday into next year and it is the best system Nintendo has produced in my opinion.

Everything you've come to know and love about Mario Kart. Playing online is insane. You don't know pain until you're hit with a shell while in 1st place only a few feet from the finish line and you end up coming in dead last. Inversely, if you're the person shooting the shell, there's no better feeling in the world.

Just like every other game in the series, this edition of Mario Kart does not disappoint. With plenty of characters and vehicles to choose from this game can be played over and over without getting old. Whether you're playing alone, with a friend, or online I have not seen any bugs or glitches to bring the quality of the game down.

cool new weapons, hd graphics. alot of control options.

I like this Mario Kart. I also have Mario Kart Wii. Both games play similarly with lots of ways to control the game. I have used the Gamepad and the Wii U Pro Controller (the one with its own built in battery and wireless). I prefer the Pro Controller. Feels classic and yet new. If you like Mario Kart this is yet another great addition. You can also form your own tournaments online and if you want you can keep anyone out so its just you and your friends playing. There are many unlockable drivers and kart parts. One improvement that could be made is the ability to allow 4 people from one Wii U to race with others online instead of just 2 from one Wii U.

As a kid, I always lost to my group of friends at this because I never had a video game console and couldn't practice. Now that I do, I can spend all my hours perfecting my banana throwing and drifting so that I can race to the top of the charts. Will keep you and a group of intelligent monkeys entertained for hours :)

If you have ever played a Mario Kart game, you know what you're in for. Fun, challenging gameplay, amazing graphics, and a whole lot of fun in groups!

My favorite Mario Kart was MK64. I say was because MK8 is now my favorite, it's hard to go back after playing this game. Nintendo did a great job with making it easy to pick up and play. The graphics are amazing and 60fps. Only drawback is battle mode was an afterthought. I can forgive them since they gave us 200cc.

I bought this for my children, but the whole family enjoys playing this game in the Wii U console. I wish this game had been available since the console was released. Something we enjoy are the details when you review the images from the careers in slow motion. Anyway, this is a great title for everyone having a Wii U system.

I can always count on Nintendo to create a great family game and this one is no exception. Everyone in our household enjoys playing this, and I've even came home before to find my wife playing on her own. If you are a fan of previous Mario Cart games or just looking for some family fun then this one is a no brainer.
