The family has really been enjoying the latest version of Mario Kart. There are definitely enough changes and additions from the last version to make the game worth purchasing.

Good game, with some new characters and levels, but it's not all that much different from other versions in the franchise. If you love the franchise this is a good purchase.

Mario Kart is a great game, my kids (both under 6) like to play, and the settings allow at least my oldest to win a couple of races. The difficulty can be turned up to near impossible "the computer be cheatin'" levels. It's most fun when you have people to play this game with. All of that said, if you've played any of the previous iterations, then it will feel like they didn't anything of significance to this version to make the series feel new again. Granted it's a racing series so there's only so much one can do to tinker with the gameplay before it becomes another game entirely.

Very similar to the old Mario Kart with some new stuff and different tracks...if you already have the Wii U, it's nice to get but I wouldn't buy a Wii U just to play it.

I have enjoyed Mario Kart over the years. Each new game is better than the previous one. The courses are interesting and the game play is fun. It has become addictive.

This game is awesome! I find myself playing this game for hours at a time! And it's finally in HD! Couldn't be happier with this game and anyone who owns a wii u should buy this game immediately!

I bought this game for my son on his 6th birthday. It is easy enough for his age, and challenging enough for an adult. The graphics are great, and it is a lot of fun.

This game is better than mario kart wii, the tracks are a large arrangement of challenges along with the opponents get harder as you climb the cc latter. The greatest part about it, you don't have to unlock the cc cups on your own, you can do it with someone else in the multilayer gold cups in any cc.

While we were home, on vacation, we were able to play this game as a family and it was very enjoyable. I continued to battle me by throwing things at my wife.

If you liked the first Mario Kart for the Wii you will like this one just as well! Really fun game especially when there are multiple players! The new boards are a nice change! Definitely worth the money, plus we got the free downloadable game (Pikmin 3) since we purchased before July deadline.

I bought this after playing it at my friends and falling in love. This does the original mario kart justice! It has allot of the old maps but with new twists. And the new vehicles and jumps that they added make the game play even better. I would say this is a must for any gamer's library.

This game does an awesome job of maintaining the classic Mario Kart fun factor while introducing new and amusing aspects to the game. New items and characters keep it fresh, along with a few new gameplay mechanics, Its really just a joy to play, either single player, with friends, or online.

Nintendo continues its racing legacy with another fine game. Mario Kart 8 builds on the previous success with new tracks and has the retro tracks as well.

Mario Kart 8 is a beautiful, fun kart racer that introduces sound new ideas to Nintendo’s 22-year old franchise. While it doesn't reach Double Dash-levels of risk and experimentation, Mario Kart 8 builds on the series' most essential aspects better than any of its predecessors. Twisting U-turns, a blistering sense of speed, skillful track designs, robust tournament and online features, and gorgeous graphics fall into lockstep all at once. The end result shouldn't come as a surprise: Mario Kart 8 is the king of the mascot kart circuit, and it gave me hours of enjoyment.

The game is what it always was 4 player, I play with my kids, racing. They re-did older tracks from all the older systems. I think they picked 2 each.
