I loved mario Kart Ds, but since then this one is the one that competes to be the best Mario Kart of all. That´s why i love the Mario Kart saga its not only new characters or courses, the experience changes and every mario Kart is unique in his way like this one that introduces the antigravity and other stuff, also the graphics are great. This game also is a masterpiece, Nintendo put big effort on details like lights of cars on in the dark, screen splash after going trough water and you continue discovering details playing again, also the music is a gem. This game is a reason to buy a Wii U system totally, fun in solo mode and also in multiplayer with the nintendo entertaining quality seal. Simply get it and get hours of fun :D !!!!

The haters will call this game nostalgic but honestly it is the best Mario Kart game probably since Mario Kart 64. The game looks fantastic in HD, runs at 60 FPS @ 1080p (haters never point that out) AND you get a FREE game for purchasing this. This is one of those games that the comptetent Wii U system needed. I hope that people give the console a second look because it is still better than an Xbox 360 and personally I like the gamepad a lot (I bought the extended battery, definitely a recommendation and super easy to install). All in all this game doesn't disappoint, and it has some of the classic maps from SNES, GBA, 64, 3DS and fun new maps!. Nintendo, well done.

Having played all the Mario Kart games Nintendo has made this is the best one yet. Not only is it visually stunning but the new courses are fun and imaginative. The classic courses have been enhanced more than graphically and designed to fit the new game elements. While the online could use a couple enhancements it is fun to play with friends and strangers. If you have ever played a Mario Kart game and enjoyed it then this is a must buy.

if no friends, you get bored, the standalone missions are not great.

I was never a MarioKart fan and really never bought into the "hype" of this game, so I only agreed to get this game because my wife wanted a Yoshi Amiibo. Boy I was so wrong on that one. This game is one of my favorites for our Wii U. I like the on-line play, even though I havent figured it out yet putting it on Youtube is pretty cool, and the Muli-play. If I had to choose anything I don't like about there are 2 things that come to mind are 1st. not that Amiibo only get you a racing suit its that not all are compatible with it, and 2nd. in the Multi-player #3-4player# mode if you have a smaller T.V. #32in.# like us the 4 squares that become your viewing screen are pretty small and make it kind of hard to see the track.

From 4 year old to 40 year old, my entire family is enjoying this game very much. This is the best Mario Kart game made in the series and I played almost all of them. This game looks so good that some times we just drive around slowly around the course to enjoy the scenery or just watch replays in slow motion. Battle mode is certainly lacking a bit but let's hope Nintendo releases DLC to down the road to quiet the Battle Mode critics who want arenas. This game should move some units for struggling Wii U. Free game offer for quality games like Zelda Windwaker HD or Pikmin 3 with purchase of MK8 certainly makes it a must buy.

This game definitely gets the most play time in my Wii U library! The graphics are beautiful and the controls are dead on. Fun for the entire family!

I was very excited for the release of this game. I picked it up release day and spent the weekend playing with my family. Everyone had fun. The 2-player online mode was a blast. The graphics are great, music is fun, and the game is very colorful.

Mario Kart is finally back on a home console, and it is back better than ever, and may be the Wii U's best game. The gameplay has been refined so that anyone can learn how to play with some skill within a few gameplay sessions, which leads to better competition. This is the perfect game to play with your buddies. Alone? No problem. The online is amazing, and demonstrates the Wii U's online capabilities very well. It is mostly lag-free. The game looks GORGEOUS, as it runs in 60 fps 1080p (single player).

This game is absolutely amazing and everyone should enjoy the fun this bring to your living room. The first HD Mario Kart has been a breath of fresh air for the Wii U. This game is an absolutely must have. My 5 and 8 year old daughters love to play and unlock the new parts and characters.

I've been playing Mariokart since the original on SNES. I was a big fan of Double Dash on the Gamecube, I thought it was the best iteration thus far at one point. Mariokart Wii was a fairly dumbed-down, lackluster entry in the series, and I was dissapointed by it. Mariokart 8 is a return to form--a lot more customizable and there's some amount of strategy involved, but not so complicated that casual folks can't pick up and play. Another Nintendo masterpiece, a great reason to buy a Wii U.

My son received this game for Christmas. I watched him play a little bit, and the graphics on this game are excellent. I decided that I would play a couple games with him. Well after about an hour of playing non-stop, I realized how much I love this game. It is a great game for kids or adults, and especially if you play together. The customizable vehicles are a lot of fun.

This game has been fairly enjoyable. I was a little disappointed to find that at $50 it only came with 8 cups (4 tracks each), and that if you wanted more - you had to spend more money. I've been out of the Video Game market for a while, so this whole concept is new - and was not a fun thing to learn. Also, I was slightly bummed that you couldn't use 2 Wii remotes to play a 2 player game, that you're bound to using the Wii U remote as Player 1 - no matter what. Overall though, I've had a blast playing the game. Even if conquering the levels at 50 and 100cc were a little too easy. It would be more of a challenge if I could utilize the Wii remotes, but I still love the game.

One of the best mario kart games in the entire series. Full HD is awesome, and moderately challenging.

Mario Kart 8 is definitely one of the best entries in the Mario Kart franchise. The track designs are beautiful, creative, and--most importantly--a lot of fun to race on! There are plenty of vehicles and characters to unlock, so collecting them all will keep you very busy.

Great game! Fun like all the other ones before and very polished. The online multiplayer works well too. Only con that I can think of are the battles. They aren't arenas, but shorter versions of some of the regular tracks. It makes it harder to find other people and feels more like circling with finding other players more of a game of luck. Also the max time for battles is 5 minutes, with no infinite time option. Besides that, the game is great and the DLC is fun! (Hopefully they'll add arena maps to battle this way).

Fantastic game. The familiar cut throat drive by the seat of your pants gameplay is here. There are lots of clever tracks with nods to Nintendo's past. Graphically, this game is gorgeous. The art style is classic Nintendo. I've been playing this online, which is largely glitch free and lots of fun. Nintendo has taken strides forward with online play. The only gripe is there is no in game voice chat. You can chat between races but it cuts off during the race. Hopefully MK9 rectifies this. Still this is a fantastic title that provides countless hours of fun.

I have been a fan of the series since the original, and this version is definitely a return to form. The single player game is beautiful to look at and a blast to play. Mutiplayer with friends is fun as well, its always a favorite when friends come over.

I think It is a fun game to play but I am disappointed that they didn't keep the SNES N64 or the GBA retro tracks original the Gamecube, Wii, DS 3DS retro tracks they did good on keeping them original
