If you have played any previous Mario Kart then you know what to expect here. Nintendo manages to always tweak and improve the gameplay while making changes or additions that keep making it fresh and fun. This is a great game for anyone to get into and enjoy but deep enough to make for some very competitive multi-player action. If you have been waiting for a reason to get a Wii U the Mario Kart 8 is your reason and also opens the door to enjoy many previously released quality Wii U games at great values.

great racing game. if you played any of the other mario kart games not much has changed from them

I've played a majority of the Mario Kart games before this one, and I have to say that this one is really good. The graphics are top notch, the gameplay can be really fun, and the ability to customize your kart is pretty nice as well. I also love the musical compositions for the stages. What I don't like is that the item system is fundamentally broken. Why am I only getting bananas, coins, and mushrooms in SIXTH place?! You might get a decent item every once in a while, but don't count on it. The computers on-the-other-hand will probably be getting stars, bullet bills, and shells! Feels like the Wii version if you ask me. And the computers are more frustrating than ever! Sure, they were bad in the other versions, but this is ridiculous! Once one starts attacking you, they all go for you! This game is much better when you play it either with friends or online, otherwise if you go against the computers be prepared for a headache. Overall, this one is really fun to play, and I enjoy playing it with my friends and family, but it still falls short of it veteran versions. Maybe it's nostalgia for me, or maybe I'm not remembering the older ones as well as I think I do. I like this one, but I still like some of the older ones more.

If you own a Wii U then you should definitely own a copy of Mario Kart 8. It is the best Mario Kart has been in a good long while.

This is by far the BEST Mario Kart game to date! The amount of content included on disc is enormous! Not to mention you can practically double the amount of content with a measly $12 DLC purchase! Add some amiibo and you're set!

I bought Mario Kart 8 when it went on sale and I saved an additional 20% with the Gamer's Club. Courses are very imaginative and look great. Downloadable tracks, characters, and vehicles adds to the potential fun.

As a long-time fan of the series, I was ecstatic when Nintendo announced Mario Kart 8. Finally, Mario Kart in HD! This game is beautiful and gameplay is very good. A few new added features have made this one of the most enjoyable of the series. I played it with friends and family for several days straight. One thing I think would be awesome would be if Nintendo would release newer versions of older maps as DLC. There are already a few in the game, and they are really fun to play through. Ahh, nostalgia!

This is a great game with lots of levels, characters, and vehicles to unlock. Some of the races can be a little frustrating to beat, but it wouldn't be any fun if you could just beat every race on the first try.

This game is amazing. The Tracks are incredible, you can go upside-down on some courses. The karts are customizable, so each kart is different. They also bring back old tracks and upgrade them, such as Moo Moo Meadows from the Wii version of Mario Kart. The only bad thing about the game is the hanglider. I believe it is a little hard to control, however not everyone may feel the same. All in all, the game is really good. (Even though the download codes aren't the best......)

What a game. This will consume hours of your life. It runs at a silky smooth 60 frames per second and has wonderful textures. The race arenas are clever and anti-gravity adds depth. This is getting Animal Crossing and Legend of Zelda DLC soon so look out for that!

My last MK game I've purchased was MK Double Dash for GameCube. I've decided to buy this after such a long time and I must say i'm amazed! I also took advantage of the Club Nintendo promo to get a free game so there really no excuse to picking it up. The only thing i can that I wasn't amazed by was battle mode. They changed it and I don't like it. Anyways that shouldn't stop you. Buy it now!

I had this game since Day 1! And I still play this game both local multiplayer and online. You will have an amazing and memorable time with your friends!

This game is what all Wii U owners have been waiting for. The graphics are astounding and look great/smooth in motion, the music is stellar, and the gameplay is top notch as always. Multiplayer battles with the family are super fun, and the online modes are lag-free if a little barebones. The new Battle Mode is pretty wonky, but everything else about this package is aces. BUY IT!

Mario Kart 8 is fun for everyone no matter the skill level. The art style is nice & the game looks and play great. Can't complain (=^_^=)

Definitely the best racing game on the Wii U and to me the best racing game on all the consoles. Super fun to play couch co-op or online

I love this game. The maps are great, there's a ton of awesome vehicles and characters, and the online play is a blast. I love the new dlc they just released too. This game never gets old. With multiplayer, it's always a fun challenge. The only thing I'd change is I wish we could say what we want in the multiplayer rooms instead of the Nintendo preset phrases.

not only do you get $10 from best buy, but if you buy it and register it at club Nintendo between release day and July you get a free game from Nintendo as well. Zelda, new super Mario bros, and pikmin 3 just to name some of the choices.

Mario kart is by far the most gorgeous game I have seen on the wii u. The graphics are what I would expect of next gen, though not as nice as PS4s. However, it is a nintendo game and there is a deal of nostalgia behind it. That feeling you get hitting someone with a red shell before they cross the finish line brings me back to my N64 days. Awesome game!

Mario Kart 8 is awsome. Brings back memories and helps create new ones. My niece and nephew love the game as much as I do.

This game makes me wantt to play along with the kids too
