I played this as a kid and bought it for my family when I purchased the wiiU. We all love it, a lot of fun to play together, and my 10yr old loves that this is a game mom will actually play with him!!

This game is loads of fun for the family whether playing each other at home or picking a partner to challenge the competition online. This is also great for when guests are over who enjoy video games.

I highly recommend this game not only because it is a great racing game, but also because it brings the whole family together. I enjoy playing this with my brother and father. Definitely get this game.

This game is great for the casual gamer and the most hardcore. I can enjoy this game with my niece or a night with friends. The graphics and gameplay of this game are beautiful, I definitely recommend.

One of the best Mario Kart games as far as single player is concerned. Fun tracks with lots of unlockable items to keep you coming back. Multiplayer isn't so great, but that's now the reason to get this game.

Anyone who had playing Mario Kart games knows what they are about. With the graphics in this game it takes the racing experience to a new level. Great game to play with friends and family members of all ages

It's Mario Kart...now in HD. If you like Mario Kart and you have a Wii U, then I can't think of any reason you wouldn't want to own this game. If you haven't enjoyed the previous versions of Mario Kart then there's probably nothing new here that will convince you otherwise. My copy came with a $10 gas coupon and a free game download from clubnintendo (Zelda, Pikman 3, or something else that I can't remember at the moment).

I've played Mario Kart since the original SNES release. Mario Kart 8 is a great expansion on that game. It offers fun racing with some new twists in granting you the ability to customize your car, tweaking it's abilities in combination with the driver and wheels, and opening up new short cuts in the crazy course through the use of the glide and zero-g dynamics. You can race tracks multiple times and still find new things about it. As in previous version the AI is a little cheap. You'll always have a nemesis randomly chosen in the first race of a cup that will be pushing you for points on the leaderboard. Weapons that will stop you in your tracks will hardly slow AI opponents down. Seriously I've hit an AI enemy with a red shell in 150cc mode and they spun around but never stopped moving forward at the same speed they had been before the shell hit. So the game is a little frustrating to play alone, but it's great with friends in the same room or online.

Great graphics, tons of detail, amazing levels! This game has it all and our family loves it. You can use any remote to play and we got the steering wheels to add some challenge! Awesome game!

I love this game and what is not to love. I still like the super Nintendo version the best but this one is awesome! Get your amiibo ready and change your racing suit! Get online and battle it out with fellow Mario kart enthusiasts or just stay offline and play the computer. Either way you go you cannot lose with this one. I have been playing this non stop and I don't see it becoming boring any time soon. If you enjoyed any of the previous Mario karts you will love this one. If you haven't played any of them what are you waiting for! Get the gamers unlocked card and get that 20% off! This game is worth the 59.99 but why not get it for 47.99 or even cheaper if they put it on sale!

This is only reason why I bought WII U. It is just a casual low graphic racing game when you compare with Forza / Drive club on xbox one /ps4, but far more additive! TRY IT! You will not regret it!

It's Mario Kart... If you've played the series recently there's not any huge changes. The courses now have anti-gravity (or whatever you want to call it) sections where you can drive on the walls or the track twists you around upside-down. If you're new to the series all you really need to know is it's an easy to pick up kart racing game that's a blast to play with family and friends. Up to four players can play local split screen (I think only two for online play) so make sure you pick up extra controllers if you need to. The game (and any controllers you have to buy) are well worth the price for the amount of joy you'll get out of it. This is one game you really should pick up if you own a Wii U.

The game is different from Mario Kart wii but is just as much fun. Driving with the wii u controller is a little different but that makes it even more of a challenge. Great game and we--ha--recommend.

Cars go vroom, shells go boom. Needs more tank treads and laser beams, but otherwise the armory is acceptable. If you like turtles you'll like this. Unless you are a turtle, then you may be offended.

Such a great fun game to play with others. The more people you have the more fun it is.

Mario Kart 8 is a great game. Fast and fun! New carts, characters, tracks. The only con is that battle mode is not as good as it used to be, as there are no battle arenas, just battle on the tracks.

Mario Kart 8 is a great game with even greater DLC coming down the pipeline at the surprisingly reasonable price of an additional $12. Even without the DLC, this is by far the deepest Mario Kart yet. Ok, three different Rainbow Road courses are a bit overkill, but the variety of characters, vehicles, wheels, and even parachutes give this game tremendous replay value. One of the things that I most appreciate about this version is how much the AI has advanced. Even for a seasoned Mario Kart veteran like myself, going straight to 150cc proved very challenging. Collecting three stars on every grand prix will take me considerably longer than it has on any version of this game before.

Mario Kart 8 is one of the first games for the WII U that will get people to buy the WII U gaming console just so they can play the game. Other WII U titles didn't have this sort of mass appeal and this has really hurt WII U sales. This in turn has made third party game developers reluctant to develop games specifically designed for the WII U as they couldn't risk the high cost of game development in such a small market. A killer game like Mario Kart 8 is exactly what Nintendo needed to drive up sales and capture a larger segment of the market. This should attract more 3rd party game developers to the unique capabilities of the WII U platform which means that the best games are yet to come!
