I purchased this because I'm a long time fan and also had the perk of getting wind waker with it free. That being said, definitely worth the purchase although I'm disappointed with lack of features and characters. The best looking Mario kart by far baffles me that they include a bunch of baby characters and none of the best characters from their canon of great mascots. Look at smash bros to get an idea. It is also sorely lacking the infamous battle fields from past games. It's a good kart racer but I won't be playing as much without that mode. Hopefully it will come back as dlc.

Mario Kart has finally arrived on the Wii U and it was well worth the wait! The games has a variety of both retro and new race tracks that are a lot of fun to drive, 32 in all! The anti-gravity courses were an excellent addition along with the new items such as the horn. Finally, there is a way to ward of those pesky spiky shells. The game supports 4 player local co-op along with online multiplayer which provided a variety of different ways to play. It was easy to find other players online to get right into a race and the Nintendo community is welcoming. The game also supports a variety of different controllers such as the Wii U pad, the wii remotes, as well as the older and newer pro controllers. Overall, this was an excellent game that you will likely keep playing long after you purchase it.
