All right, another Mario Kart. You guys know the drill with this franchise by now. Graphically, this one is obviously far ahead of the previous versions. Great cartoony visuals, some aliasing but it's easy to ignore. Racing feels tight, there are multiple options for controlling your kart racer. Lots of characters, lots to unlock. Online racing is probably where you will spend most of your time. This game's biggest problem is that Nintendo was VERY lazy when it came to the Battle Mode. First of all, there are no battle arenas. Instead, the racetracks get recycled, and its a mess to get frenzied battle action when you are simply chasing opponents around the track. Also, when you die, you can still attack as a ghost!! That does not strike me as fair, and kills competition. But the rest of the game is fun.

This is the newest Mario kart game and it's great as like all the others. It's more challenging than the previous and takes a little to get used to the new features.

Fixes major playability problems with the last console version, Mario Kart Wii (aka, MK 6), by providing less places to run off course in the form of more side walls and greatly decreasing the time it takes to get back on course after falling off. MK Wii always devolved into a race to see who keep from falling off the longest at end of lap 3 and that decided the winner more than anything else. Now, its back to picking good racing lines and making good use of your pickups, as it should be. Nice new speed bonus acquired for performing a show-off move during jumps. 12 racers now instead of 8, but courses are much wider to accomodate this so items like banana peels are less useful now as there are fewer bottlenecks to use them effectively. Very easy at the 50cc level. Absolutely no plot - just races.

Mario Kart 8 is a fun an exciting game. If you have played previous Mario Kart games you will love how this games improves on everything from those games. If you are new to the franchise, you will experience a fun-filled, thrill ride. Mario Kart has new game modes and an online multiplayer experience that is second to none. Get this title and be prepared to spend many hours of fun and excitement.

Mario Kart 8 is a fantastic addition to the Mario Kart series. Between the new tracks and features, as well as N64 throwbacks, this game is definitely my favorite.

Mario Kart series delivers again! Lots of fun, solid online play, could probably stand to have more tracks and maybe more character variety, but that's nitpicking.

My son begged for this game before it came out. If you liked Mario Kart 7 you'll love 8. It's like being on a rollercoaster. It's fun for the whole family. Enjoy!

My son loves this game. He has so much fun playing this game with his friends. The graphics are beautiful. So far this is the best Nintendo game he's ever played.

at this point, you know what you are going to get. its fun nintendo characters, awesome tracks, and tons of fun!

Overall, great game. It was challenging and had new enjoyable content. However, was difficult to learn new turning mechanism. Easy to break (i.e. flame hopping).
