I was really excited about this product when it premiered in September. But when my order arrived, I quickly found out this was not going to work. It seems this rc racer has a huge issue being inside rooms in apartments built back in the 1900's, which is where I live. In a NYC apartment building built in the 1920's. So i guess the walls are the wrong type and add the fact that i have lots of smart devices, like smart tv's, wireless router, game consoles, etc...it seems to make a faraday cage of sorts. I've tried using this in my guest room and it would sync to my switch, i'd get to test it for around 10 seconds and then my switch says it lost connection. I tried testing it in my bedroom and then in my living room and the switch would get disconnected. I tried resetting the kart back to factory settings, i had the kart fully charged, my switch was charged, but nothing, it would last about 10 seconds in each room and just disconnect constantly. I even tried shutting down my switch and restarting it, nothing. So once last thing i tried was out in our hallway, outside of our apartment and boom! it worked. i was able to control the kart with no issue. so then we tried racing the kart in our kitchen in our apartment, boom that worked, but once it entered any bedroom in our apartment, the kart would disconnect. so what the heck! whatever our walls are made of is causing an issue with the connectivity of the rc kart. which really sucks, our kitchen is so small, we can't race in there. so now, i have to ask for a refund sadly. i really wanted this to work out. but if simple smart appliances and walls give this racer an issue, than it wasn't made very well. i can see many people who buy this that live in old apartments having an issue. this toy is really meant for people with large homes or modern apartment buildings. nice try nintendo, but not a win for me.

Be aware that this game is not playable out of the box. The actual game has to be downloaded from Nintendo E-store, so you only can play when you have an internet connection and after you have mastered setting up an account, etc. This is not a plug and play game. So far, I wasted $80 as I can't play it.
