Buy if you own no other Mario Party game

Another Mario Party, same slow experience

However, this was the first one I have ever bought because I have plenty of Amiibo that work with it. The 80% of gameplay is luck based and skill is only needed on a few games. I think Mario Party games have always been geared toward a younger audience. So if you are 13 years old or younger I would recommend this game. Boss battle are fun and I actually enjoy that the boards have an end point unlike the old turn based style of Mario Party 1-8.
