What can I say about this strange game? A turn-based tactical strategy game starring an unholy blend of Ubisoft & Nintendo properties shouldn't work, but it does, & it does it really well. I can't really explain the surreal feeling I had when I saw Mario pick up a gun for the first time. This is (probably) the closest thing to an XCOM game we'll get on the Switch, & I'm okay with that (I'm pretending Fire Emblem doesn't exist for this part of the review, because I'm really trying to gas this game up). Peach is so B.A. in this (we love to see it), & the bosses were really fun. Some genuine laugh out loud moments in here, if not just from occasionally remembering the absurdity of it all while you're playing it. I'm just really glad that Ubisoft came up with this & that Nintendo actually let them make it. It never got repetitive for me, but I am a big fan of turn-based tactical strategy games like this, so your own results may vary. My main complaints are the controls in the overworld/out-of-battle areas are a little weird to get used to, & the lack of online play. I'm imagining a sequel with full online multiplayer battles & a stage editor a-la Mario Maker & Smash with shareable levels. A dream! A literal DREAM! If you like XCOM & you have a Switch, this is a no-brainer. If you've never played a turn-based strategy game, but you think you might be interested in the genre, this is a great way to get your feet wet before diving into the deep end with Fire Emblem: Three Houses chained to your ankles.

When i first heard about this, I was appalled. As Ubisoft showed off more and more, I got intrigued and as it turns out, this game was amazing. Purchased it on day one, completed it and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is a great strategy title for players of all ages and skill levels. Bursting with charm and character, it's a game I couldn't put down until I cleared the very final challenge.

This game is an instant classic for me. Applying the Xcom formula to Mario seems like an odd choice, and adding in the normally annoying rabbids doesn't sound like it would be a good game, but it's fantastic.

I was not planning on buying this game. I actually laughed when I heard it was being made. Boy was I wrong. This game was really fun and charming. One of my favorite video games I’ve played in the last year.

I've never played a turn-based tactics game before, but reviews and curiosity led to me picking this up. It was totally worth it, I've been playing this on my daily commute and the turn based nature makes it easy to pick up and put down. It looks great in undocked mode and while I'm only a few hours in, I can see how this can ramp up to be challenging and rewarding. Would totally recommend, especially since it seems to be on sale quite often.

This is the kind of game the Nintendo Switch needs more of--an awesome game from a third party (Ubisoft). Wonderful gameplay, graphics, and integration of characters from various IPs. Pick this up today!

Great game for the Switch that I didn’t know much about until recently. If you like turn based strategy games, it’s definitely a good one at that (like XCOM but easier to get into). Highly recommended.

The game is really good, but it is a little bit repetitive. On the other hand, the graphics, colors, sounds and charm are amazing. It is a buy on my book and if you have the gamers club card you will get that sweet 20%off, so what are you waiting for?

The challenge starts out pretty high, but it is a very good game. The rabbids are funny, and the little side quests are a nice break from the intense strategy. I can spend a lot of hours on this one.

I don't personally play this game, however my son (6 yrs old) does. I really think it's a great game for children. It's fun for them, but it also teaches them some critical thinking, strategy and patience. Fun personality in the characters, charming story, and fun game play. Highly recommended, specially if it's on sale!

At first, I thought the concept of this game was ridiculous. However, it turned into a strategy filled experience that should not be missed. The presence of Mario and crew was a great addition as well.

This game is very fun if you like thinking games, I feel its like playing chess, you need to have a strategy in order to get a perfect score and it makes it harder as you level up, but its what makes this game cool, it’s s not your typical Mario game. Therefore if you like puzzle games, strategy games you will really enjoy this one.

Mario never disappoints! My kids love playing this game.
