If you like strategy/tactical games this is for you!

This game is great, but it's not for everyone. Many mario fans will enjoy it, but this is a turn based strategy, so some might be turned off by that. Xcom fans will like this. Simple yet enough challenge to keep you going.

At first glance, this game would appear to be of dubious quality; the Rabbids franchise is polarizing to say the least, and Ubisoft is very hit and miss as a developer. However, Ubisoft manages to marry the best parts of the Mario franchise with the least annoying parts of the Rabbids franchise to make an incredible grid-based tactical RPG. This game is way more than "Mario and Rabbids... with guns!"; it sucks you into its gorgeous environments, its silly stories and sight gags, and its upgrade system. Being able to choose from a number of characters is great, though always having to have Mario plus one Rabbid in your three-person party is a bit limiting. The game has a substantial story mode that will keep you busy (and some paid DLC if you want even more to play), and it will make you eager for its sequel, Sparks of Hope, to be released soon. Just one bit of advice: Wait for a sale. This game absolutely packs enough content to be a $60 game, but Ubisoft has repeatedly had this game on sale for well under $20. Unless you're super-eager to play it right now, a discount will always be around the corner.

I generally am not a fan of turn-based games, so I wasn't expecting much from Mario + Rabbids. But I was pleasantly surprised to find that this is a engaging, fun game that's hard to tear myself away from. I found it easy to understand--no frustration whatsoever. It can be a challenge in later levels, but the increasing level of difficulty is something that you can master with enough thought and weapon upgrades.

This is the best Strategy/Tactics turn base game since Fire Emblem Awakening! I have never played Rabbids game in my life, but the 5min intro to the game was amazing! I am not a big fan of crossovers, but they really got this one right. There is so much exploration, funny story and I swear you will laugh or smile at least once in the the game! I chuckled so many times on the cut scenes!

Enjoyable game. Very different gameplay style than any other type of Mario game, but I liked it. I hate how I didn't get Yoshi (my favorite Mario character) until very nearly the end of the game (so I didn't get much chance to use him), how you're forced to keep Mario on your team (which is annoying because you're only allowed three team members at once, which means you have to do more cycling to get to use all the other characters), and how you're forced to have at least one Rabbid on your team (so if you want to make a team of Mario, Luigi, and Peach, too bad). For me, this was a "play through the main story once and then give it away" game. If you have someone else to play with, you might get more time out of it since it does have a co-op mode.

A very well done strategy game by turns. It is a very good version of X-Com games. I don’t find the Rabbits particularly funny but it is fine. The game doesn’t start hard but it can be challenging in the second part of you plan your little kids to play this

I am not a huge fan of turn-based, tactical RPGs or the Rabbids so I wasn't too thrilled about this game being a real thing when it was revealed. I couldn't believe that Nintendo would let Ubisoft take free reign over the Mario name and make this kind of game. After first impressions were good and it reviewed very well though, I decided I'd give it a chance when it went on sale. I got it on sale for less than 30 bucks and after having beaten the game I will say I was pleasantly surprised. The game is beautiful to look at, the Rabbids actually got me to chuckle a few times, the combat was more fun, and deeper, than I thought it would be, and at under 30 dollars I definitely got my money's worth. I give it four stars because, like I said, tactics RPGs aren't exactly my favorite genre and I did feel like combat got stale towards the end. But it is an objectively good game and a 5/5 for any fan of solid, tactics games. Ubisoft deserves congratulations for making a game worthy of the Mario name.

This game is really fun. It is the best strategy game on the switch.

This game is phenomenal. This game is akin to the Xcom games, but with Mario and rabbid characters instead. There are two portions to the game, the battles and the exploration/puzzle solving between the battles. You get to pick 3 characters for a battle, and unlock 8 in total. They each have unique abilities and play styles. The campaign is fun and quite enjoyable. Lots of funny moments for me. You can also go back and do challenge modes and replay sections for a better score. Lots of collectibles to get as well. All in all, fantastic game, if you love Xcom definitely get it. If you haven’t tried that but are interested in a turn-based strategy game, look no further

Excellent game, hilarious characters and a surprisingly great mesh between Mario and the Rayman universe. Overall very satisfying gameplay, although sometimes can get a a little frustrating when trying to find what to do/where to go next. Will mention though this game has been 19.99 for at least 3 years, but with the second one coming out here soon they have jumped the price back to 59.99. Pretty lame to do best buy, at its current price I wouldn't recommend it

Haven't been a big Ubisoft fanboy. But this game is definitely set a high bar for all other 3rd party switch games. Great dynamics and well-designed levels which guide you gradually to challenging levels. Looking forward to future DLCs

Hidden gem of a game. Great Mario rpg game. Got it sale so definitely worth it.

Don’t let there Rabbids being in this game stop you from getting it. It’s a very well designed tactical RPG with lots of content and charm to it. Well worth the money! P.S. The Rabbids are actually much more likable in this game.

This game is great fun for kids and adults alike. There's a lot of room for strategy, and the presentation is adorable and fun.

Like most I didn't really have high hopes for this before the E3 reveal, but the execution is pretty amazing. If you are fan of turn-based strategy games then definitely check this out. If you are just a Mario fan then you might want to wait.
