I bought this for my 7 year old. She likes it but cant seem to get it going right away. There is a big story at the beginning and she cant just turn it on and play. Other than that its very fun and she loves it.

Great game, keeps some elements that are integral to the nostalgia and feel from the 64 game. Really satisfying to play and graphics are like mk8

Much more than just a tennis game. Yes you can just play tennis but there are also Quests & story line to challenge yourself. Play solo against the computer or with a friend.

It's well polished, smooth playing and has a full roster of favorite and unexpected characters from the Mario Bros universe. High quality as we've all come to expect from Nintendo over the years.

Fun game to play with friends. Haven’t tried story mode yet as we jumped straight into 4 person tennis and we played for hours without getting bored. Its easy to learn yet has enough challenge to keep things exciting

The basic game play of Mario Tennis Aces is on point. The new system, with limited brackets that break, interplay with the normal rules of tennis to create interesting, on the fly strategic decisions. It's really fantastic. Do you try and block that power shot with perfect timing, or just let it go by so you don't risk damaging your racket? What choice you make depends on where you are in the match and how much life is left in your racket; and what choice you make can be the difference between a win or loss. The basic, arcade game play of Mario Tennis Aces was exceptionally well-designed. Everything else is unfinished and sub par for a AAA Nintendo game. I really wish they took more time to make a quality game than do what they did.

It’s definitely different than wii sports tennis in terms of how it’s played, which is a little disappointing. They have Swing Mode, but is far less intuitive. However, it is fun to have more control of your character and be able to change the style of shot and your aim.

Mario Tennis Aces is a return to form for Nintendo in the sports genre! The single player game is good, but the most fun comes from multiplayer. The only drawback to this game is that it lacks the hours upon hours of staying power you get with Nintendo’s bigger games.

I'm glad they added a story mode to this game. It is something I have found lacking in the Mario tennis franchise since Mario power tennis on the Gameboy. I wish it was more of an open world and play to advance through the ranks kind of game though. Maybe next time

The campaign isn't much to write home about but I liked how the difficulty ramped up until it took leap. The game definitely feels unfair and fighting against you near the end. It's gimmicky and punishing, but rewarding when the credits roll. It's really when you get to online play that the game completely falls apart with no excuses for how laggy it is. I have a 1Gbps connection with no packetloss and it was unplayable 9/10 times. Maybe it's improved after the launch of Nintendo Online, but I wouldn't know because I sold it soon after. 2 patches were released and they did nothing for me.

My kids were initially really excited to play this game but after 2 days its sadly collecting dust. I would have passed on this game given the price had I known they would have lost interest so easily (this is not the norm for them and video games).
