Dir en grey thoroughly impress me with the continuous evolution of their music. If you have never listened to jrock, or are a fan of the genre, Dir en grey is truly a stand-out band. Their sound is unique, ranging from melodic and heart-aching, to gritty and hardcore. Kyo, the lead singer and lyricist, has an amazingly strong and pure voice if you can get past the lyrics being almost entirely in Japanese. New tracks on this album that were instantly on my iPod include: 1.Conceived Sorrow 5.Grief 9.Namamekashiki Ansoku, Tamerai ni Hohoemi & 10.The Pledge. Also included is the previously released track 4.Agitated Screams of Maggots, and re-recorded versions of 6.Ryoujoku no Ame & 13.Clever Sleazoid, with Ryoujoku no Ame being one of my all-time favorites from the band. This album was also released in Japan with a limited edition bonus CD, including alternate versions of tracks 9, 1, & 10...it's definately worth having, if you can manage to find it. Overall, an excellent album worth owning, or at the very least listening too.
