I bought this model after having very bad luck with three 400w Energy subwoofers and was extremely pleased with its performance. I didn't care for the expensive price, but this proved you get what you pay for. I was so pleased with this model I returned it for an exchange for the Dynamo1000. This subwoofer was good about picking up some low frequencies the Energy subwoofer couldn't pick up

Now granted, I could have just received a lemon, but this sub turned scalding hot and was buzzing like crazy within minutes. (Connected wirelessly.) Spoke to Martin Logan, who said I likely had a bad amp. Returned it and did not buy a new one.

I was on the fence on what "type" of sub to pair with my reference 28 towers - did some reading and listened to a bunch of subs - for the price of this sub you won't find anything that compares. This sub will be as quite or as loud as you want it to be. It will cause picture to fall off your walls so make sure you have some 2 sided taped if you enjoy loud bass at times (learned this the hard way)
For a 10" sub this thing slams (I would recommend in a downfire config over hard rubber mat using the metal spikes to keep it from moving) I have hard wood floors so this worked out very well for me.
Also spend some money on a decent receiver - this is after all a Martin Logan
Great product!

Outstanding sub, and wireless if needed. Plunges below the deepest Cave in KY. Down or Front Firing, you really have to make up your own mind on which is best for your room and bass taste. I use it with Martin LOgan EM ESL and it mathces up perfectly. Actually has more grunt than needed for Music or Movies.

A real beast!

I didn't end up keeping this subwoofer (my tv viewing room isn't well suited for subwoofers), but I would have no problem whatsoever recommending this to someone looking for an incredible sub. The bass was high quality that you felt in your chest when using as a down firing sub, and it kept shaking things in my large room. Man of Steel truly rocked with it. So if you have a room well suited to subs, don't hesitate to give this beast a try.

Top Performing Sub for Home Theater and Music

Due to outstanding customer service at a local Best Buy retail location I was recommended to purchase this high level powered subwoofer to round out a recent series of upgrades to my home theater setup to bring it to the next level. The sub was on sale for the price of a Dynamo 500 which made this purchase a steal. The low end is super accurate, tight, no signs of distortion, powerful and crisp with both home theater and music applications. The sub looks awesome and sounds so much louder than it appears. The 300 watts of clean RMS power allows this awesome looking sub to excel in a sealed enclosure. No complaints.

Best subwoofer on a 7.2 set-up, this is my 2nd ML Dynamo 700W, paired it with Bowers and Wilkins 7 speakers, RX A Yamaha Aventage Receiver and Yamaha Natural Sound CD changer. Best for movies and audiophile.

I was looking for a new compact sub and decided to go with Def. Tech., either supercube 2000 or 4000. I listen to the 4000(1200W) and it would distort at low levels, then the Dynamo 700 was next to the 4000 and it won me over. 100 times better in every aspect, plus its wireless where as the def. tech. doesn't have the adaptor yet. I'm still breaking it in and have it set up wirelessly and down firing instead of front. My only nock would be it does have a faint interferance noise when you get too close to it, nothing bad.

I would say it is a good sub but not earth shattering. If you are looking for a nice tight bass, go with this. I have not hooked it up wirelessly yet so cannot comment on it. But overall a good sub.
On pointer the first day so sound was coming out. magically when I restarted my receiver it started working on the LFE with the LFE switch turned on of course.

I just got this Dynamo 700, a few days ago after I got the Dynamo 500. I put one in living room set and the other in basement set. The bass is stronger than the 500, but the 500 has deeper and smoother bass. Either way, I like both of them. The 500 is ideal for listening and the 700 is good for party and dancing because it produces a strong and powerful bass for rocking. The 700 even handle better than the B&W 500W but the Dynamo 700 costs $800 less than the B&W 500W. What I don't like the 700 is it designed without air flow not like the 500. When I turn it louder, the body shaken and moved on the wood floor. The 500 is well balanced no shaking or moving even I turn it louder because it has two holes for good air flow on the back.

I recently purchased this as a part of a Black Friday deal to go along with my current set up. Being my first subwoofer, I wanted something that would compliment my bookshelf speakers and amplifier. It provides a very nice wireless option that helps with cable management, and provides a solid foundation for any audio equipment.

Great Sub For The Next Level In System Build

This is a great sub for a person going to the next level in building their system (movies or audio only). It packs a serious punch on the low end without distortion. Watch out for down firing on hardwood floors when you're thumping through some metal OR action bluray .. it can walk around on you. They don't provide direvctions on how to make front firing BUT anyone can figure it out in 2 minutes and have it done in 5 minutes. WELL WORTH THE MONEY, and I've had a lot of audio equipment in my time. ((Dynamo currently set up with: B&W C5GB as main, B&W CMC2GB center, ML Motion 4 as rear))

Superb sub in its class

I only gave this subwoofer 4 stars simply for the fact that my theater room needed a bit more "oomph" than what this sub could deliver but from the short time I had this sub I was amazed by the sound quality. From what I experienced in this 10" sub, it more than surpassed the quality from my older 12". I would recommend this sub to anyone that doesn't have a large, finished basement like we do. This would be perfect in a smaller setting, especially on a second level floor in which you would be able to feel the sound as well as hear it. It is constructed extremely well and you would be hard pressed to get any better performing sub in this class. MartinLogan delivers incredible quality in any of their speaker line. I would recommend this sub before they are gone as the manufacturer has discontinued this line for a newer model without the built in wireless feature this sub has.

Bought this sub during a sale and an open box item. I read many reviews before finally deciding to take the plunge after updating everything else in my system. This was the final piece I needed and I don't regret it one bit. I'm no audiophile nor was I trying to be. I just wanted a decent sounding budget system and wasn't a sound bar. Don't be fooled by the size and don't let everyone convince you to get more than you need. If bought at the right price it's perfect and don't settle for those other budget subs....spend a little more and you won't be sorry.
