Don't let the smaller size of this subwoofer fool you. It's 10 inch driver is made of only the highest of quality material unleashing tight, powerful, and extremely accurate bass for any size room. Due to it being made of the highest quality of materials and fully enclosed with no ports for air, this subwoofer is considered a musical sub. Instead of overpowering your music with bass, the bass is woven into the music to make it one cohesive listening experience, and it does NOT disappoint. On top of that, it works in any environment. Like front firing subs? Like down firing subs? Love to have both? This subwoofer is your answer! Fully adjustable feet give you the choice for both configurations. Want to put it into a corner so it is out of sight? Front firing is the way to go! Want to put it more towards the center of the room? Can't go wrong with the downfiring configuration! My system consists of: 2 MartinLogan Clarity's 2 MartinLogan Motion 4's 1 MartinLogan Motion 8 1 MartinLogan Dynamo 700 This system I have pieced together gives you the full range of sound. Even though this subwoofer isn't their most expensive, it can easily stand with my electrostatic towers and perform to the level of quality I am looking for. Did I mention looks? The Dynamo 700 is a beauty of a subwoofer to behold. Nothing unnecessary went into the design, just a clean, crisp look with their signature ML logo on the top (or front depending on the config.). The range of bass the Dynamo 700 delivers is outstanding, 24-200Hz, ±3dB. Truly outstanding. The Dynamo 700 is stated to be a 300 watt RMS sub with a peak of 600 watts. I have it at half gain and it can easily shake my entire 2 story home with ease. Excellent for watching an action movie or playing Mass Effect on my Xbox360! Lastly, if you hate wires, there is an optional $99.99 wireless adapter that allows you to move the Dynamo 700 anywhere you like, and not run any pesky wires to it. I have not purchased it myself (not yet anyway), but hear only good things about it. I will be sure to review it if I purchase it in the future! Hope my review was helpful!

    Dynamo 700W

I initially bought a Definitive Technology Supercube 2000. I loved the size and tight bass it out. I have a pro cinema 600 system so naturally a Definitive Subwoofer was my first thought. I ended up returning it. I then purchased a new Elac Sub3010 10” and really liked that as well. The app control and eq was nice, but I felt something was missing. I returned the Elac and decided to bite the bullet and buy the Dynamo 700w. Having owned the original Dynamo 10” 200watt sub a few years back I knew it would be very musical and well built sub. The reason I sold that one was due to lack of proper blend between my small satellites and sub. I hooked up the Dynamo 700w and it’s a perfect blend with my Pro Monitor 600’s. The bass is utterly amazing. It’s extremely tight, no bloat or boom. It does exactly what it’s supposed to. I can’t imagine for my space needing anything bigger, it’s at 30% volume and fills my 13x33 room easily. I do have it hard wired, option to go wireless is nice at no added expense. I recommend putting a strip of tape over the flashing led on back of sub for transmitter, it’s distracting at night movie watching. The fit and finish is superb, also nice to have down firing or front firing, I like the down firing position and not having cloth grill all around like the Supercube is easier to keep clean. I can’t say enough good, performance level for 2 channel or Surround Sound

Vibrates by itself after 15-30 days.

5/5 -its sound, however -3/5 for reliability. If I am to spend this amount on a subwoofer, I expect performance longer than 30 days. This model was recommended by a geek squad home theater specialist who said that it is currently tier 1 for the living room’s setting. At first, the sound or should I say “vibrations” were amazing to a point that it was hair raising. 2-3 weeks in, the sub started vibrating by itself. I changed it to a wireless setting and still had the same result therefore replaced it this time for the first time. Dynamo 700 strikes again (vibrated by itself) w/in a couple of weeks. I asked geek squad, even after being recommended to get a totally different model, to just give me a new but same Dynamo 700 unit, 2nd time just to give it one last chance. 30 days in and AGAIN! while watching football, started vibrating by itself. A big no, no. I would not recommend this subwoofer because of its complete FAILURE to be reliable, and as a big disappointment from MartinLogan line of subwoofers. Good thing that geek squad was there to help.

I was looking for a wireless subwoofer to complement the primary subwoofer in our home theater. And it needed to fit in a small space, no larger than 14" wide or deep. Although there are several compact SW's, the ML was the only one that was small enough and had the wireless receiver built-in, simplifying the setup. Connecting the SW was simple: just plug it in. The transmitter connects to the receiver SW output and an AC outlet. Pushing the wireless buttons on both units completes the wireless connection. Performance was surprising. Although the room is large (30' X 15'), it had no problem rivaling the performance of my 15" SW, reaching down below 30hz. Unfortunately, ML has replaced this model with the Dynamo 800X, which does not include wireless modules. They are available, but for an additional $110. If you need big sound but don't have much space and no wiring, I would strongly recommend that you pick up one of these before they are all gone.

My listening room is very oddly shaped. I wanted to add a bit of subtle bass to a portion of the room so I was looking for a second sub. This sub worked perfectly for two reasons. It is wireless so I could easily move it to every possible location until the right one was found AND it is simply a wonderful subwoofer. Solid, well built and could be the stand alone in my crazy shaped room. I liked that you could use it in both a down-firing or front-firing configuration. One of the possible spots I had for it was a cabinet which would have been perfect for the front-firing configuration. It ended up on the floor so down-firing was perfect for that spot. Easy set up for me. My receiver had a second sub output which I connected to the transmitter. The receiver is built in to the sub so there is no extra box. Buy one. Plug it in. Have fun. Excellent performance in a small package.

I exchanged a Dynamo 500 for the 700 since I was unimpressed with the sound of the 500. Everything else I loved like the build and appearance. So I decided to stick with the ML Dynamo line and step up to the 700. It was a bit straining on the budget, but I knew the 500 wasn't worth the money so something had to be done. The 700 is amazing. Unlike cheaper subs (the 500 included), the 700 present bass at all parts of the spectrum. Deep thump and room filling rumble and boom. The included wireless system is icing on the cake, especially since I figured out my original sub placement was sub-optimal (see what I did there?). Music also sounds good on the 700. It isn't perfect, and you'll hear when the bass guitar drops too low and the bass drops out, but for the most part it's there and alive. Movies...well....perfect! Check out the Depth Charged scene in U-571. Now I must start figuring out where to put my bass traps!

    More than pleased

I can't say enough about this sub. I have always been a little leery about spending a lot of money on one speaker. Let me tell you, this one is worth it. In the store it sounded every bit as good as the $1800 subwoofers, and when I got it home, I was pleased that it sounded just as good. Crisp, clear low frequency sound fills the whole room. You can't even tell where the sub is located because the sound seems to come from everywhere. This is awesome because the wireless feature is flawless, and allows me to put the driver anywhere I want. After the sales guy demonstrated the speaker for me, I told him to turn it off, shut up, and take my money. I haven't regretted my decision for one second.

I had two of these, and as almost any room is considered, more than one sub woofer is nearly a requirement based on refelctive surfaces, soft, wave absorbing furniture and multiple seating locations. I found that the ML Dynamo is very powerful and controlled compared to other discreet, compact size units and thus decided to do multiples of them. It's not a high end unit, but a 2,000.00 subwoofer is still subject to the same issues in the room, so, my solution is to buy 3- 700.00 ones and spend weeks setting them up. I have ML front and Centers, and don't think its a brand thing for me, actually, this sub is made for ML by someone else to the ML standard and price point. Easily configurable to change from front to down firing, and frankly, if your processor has LFE output, a very good "bang" for the buck. I use them with the ML Theos fronts, the large center and three Mcintosh 200WPC amps, bridged to 400 per channel across the front. These woofers keep up flawlessly and wether movies or audio, they work well.
