The level up process has a bit more depth than previous games but the combat system is more simplified. You can’t do combos like you could in the last two games. The group bonuses are easier to see now because the bonuses for each character are listed on the character select screen. Unlike the previous games, this one adds benefit to a traditional group including a tanky and healing type team members... kind of.
