This is an okay game to play if you have nothing else to do.

Lots of fixes since the launch but I would still hard pass on this.

My son say he no like da game. No bueno. Not a good game.

Nothing like the other three games. Very boring. Ugh, so disappointed.

Loved the original mass effect trilogy. Could not get far in this game at all. Not the same as the old ones

I bought this for a friend of mine who is a huge fan of the franchise, but he did not like the game at all.

Let me get this over with, yes the facial animations are bad, but people are completely trashing this game just because of the facial animations, this game is GREAT, it has 3 main things going for it and it's all it needs. STORY - 5/5 COMBAT - 5/5 EXPLORATION - 5/5 If I were you, don't read the reviews because this game is really under appreciated, currently 23 hours in and only 17% through the game

I was very excited hearing that this was coming out and from the trailers it looked fantastic, sporting 4K graphics and an awesome story. However, this was not the case. My third day into it I've pretty much put it on the shelf. The graphics are not impressive for 4K at all and is more like the graphics from ME2. This in itself is disapointing considering how long it's been since ME2. The charicters in the game are very poorly animated and many of the NPC characters have the exact same faces. Not a lot of difference between the Asari faces or even the Salarian faces. The animation was done by someone who has never done game animation before and it shows. Now on to the game play. The missions are very slow and repetative to say the least. While the story is very rich and compelling, the battle mechanics are a big sloppy. The enemy AI has perfect aim at you and ignores your team members with perfect accuracy, even on Normal difficulty you will find some of the enemies impossible to defeat. There were many times when I was killed and reloaded from the last checkpoint it would lock up for nearly 20 minutes and then get a crash notification from the PS4. Maybe things will change if they patch it, but you definitely won't get better animation or graphics. It was very obvious that this was a new team making this game and EA was doing their usual business practice of rushing a game without truly doing any QA. I would not recommend this to any hard core ME fans and even the casual fan will find it very frustrating. Wait a few weeks and buy a used copy if you really want to try it out. I would definitely not pay full price for something that feels more like an add-on for ME2 or ME3.

I purchased Mass Effect: Andromeda for my PS4 Pro and it looks AMAZING in 4K HDR! I have currently put over 8 hours into this game that I purchased a few days ago and I've had a great time playing it! I had read reviews about facial animations being messed up at launch, but there was an update not too long ago that helped fix a-lot of the facial animations that weren't synced correctly with the voices. The faces of the characters could use a little more graphical advancements which I read is actually being worked on for a future update, but everything else looks gorgeous! The sound effects for this game are spot on and really help bring the Andromeda world to life! The story so far, in my opinion, has been very interesting, and has kept me coming back each day wanting to play more and learn more of the story. I saw that BioWare has acknowledged other reviewers comments and feedback, and they said that they will be working hard to fix as much as they can for future updates which is nice to hear. This is a comment BioWare made in a post on their website for Mass Effect... Over the next two months we’ll be rolling out additional patches which will go even deeper and look to improve several areas of the game: - More options and variety in the character creator - Improvements to hair and general appearance for characters - Ongoing improvements to cinematic scenes and animations - Improvements to male romance options for Scott Ryder - Adjustments to conversations with Hainly Abrams - These upcoming patches will also address performance and stability issues. We’re also looking at adding more cosmetic items to single player for free.

I'm posting this to let any potential buyers know that this game is awesome. I've played the entire Mass Effect trilogy and while it doesn't live up to it, it has greatness in its own way. I've been waiting to play this game since I found out that Bioware was working on it. I can see why some people think that the game is terrible story wise and the technical issues. Most of these complaints about the game are minor. The story is decent, the worlds are great to explore and it feels like you're back into the Mass Effect universe. I've played it on an original PS4 and while there are frame rate drops and some texture problems, overall it doesn't really take away anything from the experience of Andromeda.
