Returned washer the first week...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Maytag washer after my Kenmore quit working after 10 years. I was excited, but apprehensive about operating the new high-efficiency model, especially without the center agitator. My first attempt at washing a load of clothes failed. The washer would not progress through the entire wash cycle. Specifically, rinse and spin (the wash light remained on). I read the manual and tried different settings/cycles. However, I ended up with the same result. The only way that I could complete the load was to manually turn the knob to rinse and spin. I called Geek Squad (very difficult to get a hold of, but kind and helpful). They decided that the washer was a defective model and scheduled a delivery of a new washer within the same week. After the technicians installed the second washer - SAME THING! It would not progress through the entire wash cycle. I was very frustrated. I decided to review the manual again to see if I was at fault before calling Geek Squad again. I printed the trouble shooting section for my husband to review. Low and behold he remembered that the technician that installed the drain hose fed it too deep into the drainpipe. It should have been no longer than 4.5". My husband cut the hose and clamped it to the specific requirements. Apparently, the sensing mechanism on the washer would not progress to the next cycle because it sensed that the water was not draining. I washed a load of laundry and it worked beautifully. It was human error and the original washer probably did not need to be returned. These new machines are sensitive and reading the manual/trouble shooting is beneficial. Hopefully, the washer will live up to Maytag's reputation.

Does not clean clothes well
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I first bought the Maytag commercial top loading washer three years ago and was not satisfied with how clean the clothes were. Anything on top of the load stayed on top and often did not get wet. After searching the Internet for solutions and trouble shooting, I learned I was not overloading the machine and others were having the same problem. As suggested, I started pouring 2 gallons of water on the dry clothes to trick the machine into adding more water. The clothes got cleaner, but sleeping bags and quilts had to be turned over and washed a second time. Still unhappy with the cleaning of the clothes I purchased a new Maytag commercial top loading washer with an agitator 6 months ago. The agitator fins are above the clothes and do not help. As with the first machine I get the best results if I add two gallons of water to the dry clothes, use only the “power wash” setting (the other 8 options are useless), and leave deep fill set on high. My 1970 Maytag lasted 45 years, got the clothes clean, and was easy to use. There was no need to run back and forth to the bathroom for two gallons of water, no need to turn large items over to wash a second time, and took about 30 minutes per load instead of an hour and 20 minutes the new ones take. The old ones obviously saved energy in shorter cycles and one time washes. They saved water because any water not absorbed by the dry clothes drains out of the new machine immediately and does not stay to help clean the clothes.

Good entry level washer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wanted a basic washer that needed to fit in a small space. So far, this has done the job. The capacity is good, easily holds a weeks worth of clothes for 2 people. I wash on the deep water cycle as the normal cycle seems to use very little water. Noise level is acceptable. Cycle takes about 40 minutes.

Great Replacement
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This replaced our washer where the motor to turn the drum finally died and it wasn't cost effective to repair it again. I love the fact that being a HE washer, it uses SO MUCH LESS WATER! Only negative about this washer is that with the stainless steel hoses BestBuy requires you to buy for them to deliver and install it are rubbing against the wall removing paint. This washer also "wanter hammers" the supply line since its constantly taking in water as it senses the load size.

Fantastic
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Any item I buy, I always read the manual. Don't assume that it will automatically work just like your old machine. Instructions are there to give you the best performance. Keep the manual handy for future reference, too. I also made sure the machine was leveled side to side and front to back, when installed. With that said, our previous agitator style Speed Queen, died and decided to put whatever repair cost would be, into a new "he" top load machine. This Maytag/Whirlpool 4.3, was on a tremendous sale, and went for it. I couldn't be happier with its performance!

noisy but gets job done
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My 1st agitatorless washer. The noises it makes are... wierd. I worked in a laundromat for over 10 years and I thought I heard all the noises washers could make and I'm wrong. I'm happy this is in my basement so I don't have to hear it. All I can say is its not the normal noises I'm used to... its like er er er er erer er er er erer over and over during the wash cycle. The rest of the cycles are pretty quiet though. Also it seems to take a long time even on the light cycle. I think its because it keeps sensing the water level and adjusting. I'm not sure I like that it "senses" the depth of water needed... 1 more thing to go wrong if you ask me. But one month in and I'm OK with it. It does a really good job washing and it holds a lot of clothes. I make sure to use the bulky setting when I put anything in that could "unbalance" and so far so good. I don't recommend this if you want it in your house and would be annoyed by unusual noises. My son likes to watch the wash though through the lid so that's a plus. :)

Amazing washer!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I reviewed many washers before settling on this particular one. I have always heard the Maytag brand was reliable and they haven’t disappointed. I see a lot of reviews regarding the water level. People don’t understand that HE washers don’t need a lot of water and the clothes smell amazing afterwards and are clean. The washer is very quiet in my opinion and I am very happy with the purchase.

Great Washer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got tired of fixing my 8 year old LG front loader. So yes this washer does get clothes cleaner then my old washer. It is louder. It does have different wash settings which determine how much water is used. Yes i would buy it again. Also i would like to thank Adam at the West Albuquerque store for such great service. Transaction was quick and painless. Delivery was quick and delivery guys were awesome. I will make my next appliance purchase at this Bestbuy

Never washes well& water is too low. Clothes stink
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So, we had an old-school Maytag washer with the typical center screw type agitator for over 20 years and it worked great until it started to overflow and flood my downstairs... SO, it was time for a new washer. So, at first I grabbed an LG front loader and for 3 days the wash came out super clean and smelling great until the button broke. So I took it back and decided to go back to a Maytag top-loader. Came home from Best Buy with this brand spanking new Maytag 4.3 and ever since i noticed that the water level is WAY too low to wash effectively. I started to watch it do it's work and noticed that the water level never rose above the clothes and the load just moved back and forth and never flipped over, never changed. I also noticed my clothes didn't smell good and some of my clothes actually smelled bad. Then today I watched the entire process during the initial wash cycle and I had it properly on BULK items for a comforter. I watched for 10 minutes while it just sloshed back and forth and never change from the way it was initially loaded. I watched the same seam on the comforter and the same piece of hair just never change. Then it spun. Then it did the same thing on the next time around... NOTHING! Absolutely not washing our clothes properly. Absolutely not working properly. If I was still in the 30 day return window I would have already returned it and went back to a front load LG For fresh smelling. clean clothes. *WHAT A REAL PIECE OF CRAP! What a waste of money. Ed

Big Enough
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can finally wash my comforter in this washer. I can say its a bit slow compared to my older washer but other than that I don't have any complain about it. Plus I love that glass cover. You can watch how it washes the clothes. Most of all it really cleans really well.

Excellent washer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this washer six months ago and we love it. It took a few days to get used to the new sounds it makes during washing but now we don't notice them. The spin cycle is very powerful and if loaded unevenly it does shake a bit funny. But, overall we love this cutie. Kids love to be able to watch the clothes being washed. We are happy with our purchase.

Does a great job
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had it a few weeks and it does a great job. Water levels are lower but that's what it's designed for. The dog doesn't like the noise it makes, they're different then the old washer. Takes a little longer for a load but I think it works well. We'll have to see if it lasts 12 years like the old one did.

Very high efficient washer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this washer already 4 years now, never had any major issues. only thing that I've noticed is that where the soap and fabric softener go it has developed a small amount a rust. This started happening a year into its age but it never has gotten worse or caused me any issues. It now shakes a lot but again it doesn't cause any issues, well not enough for me to say this is a bad washer.

New Basic Washer!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best Buy delivery and hookup was quick! They made sure the washer was working before leaving. The washer drum is bigger than expected! The lid doesnt lock right away so i was able to add extra items. Love the see through lid! I could see that i indeed put enough HE detergent and it was washing fine. Dont expect old school washing...it is more efficient in adding the detergent and with water, so less is needed. Just have to get used to the water sensor. So far my clothes are coming out clean so i am accepting this new technology. Follow the guide. It is very helpful in explaining the settings. If you read the directions you learn how to stop and drain during a cycle if needed etc..this washer is the new basic washer. Surprisingly, I love it!

Not Impressed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Maytag MVWX655DW purchased 4/2019. No mechanical issues to report as of yet. Unlike some of the other post my washer operates quietly. However, I find that due to water efficiency feature, and not having a built in agitator, my whites and sheets are drying with some spots. The sheet setting fills the washer with water so I think the lack of a agitator does not allow the fabric enough motion to get really clean. Perhaps this issue applies to darks as well, unable to advise due to color. Always been a huge fan of Maytag but I must admit this machine is a Debbie downer. Clothes need an agitator, people not so much. Also, not a fan of the push start/pause button. That will be first to fail in time and costly to replace. My next Maytag Washer will definitely have a clothes agitator.

I would not recommend this washer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this washer for about a year. I got the extended warranty. Have already had to replace the pump. It is still making the noise. It still makes the same noise, they said it was a Bobby pin , they left me one not a handful like they said. The maker of this type is poor. It has no strainer to catch anything that is left in your pockets .Granted if you checked your pockets it would not ‘be an issue but I don’t understand why all of a sudden it has given us trouble The people who they have to comes and work on them are very rude I tried to make an appt for a certain date they only book 2 weeks out. The guy I talked to on several occasions couldn’t help me Because they are hired out to work on appliances. I would not recommend this unless you have time and money to waste.

Almost made it 4 years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I know they just don't make them like they used to and this is probably the case. Our first Maytag went out after 6 years and this one almost made it to 4. The auto-locking piece started to malfunction a few weeks back and yesterday the lock light turned red and the washer spun and spun and continually went faster. I ended up unplugging it and now it won't even start. We had all Maytag (washer, dryer, dishwasher, stove, overhead microwave oven) but we are now noticing we are replacing them at a faster rate. We are now converting and so far Samsung has been winning. It's unfortunate that a brand that for so long was known as good quality is just not holding up.
