Worst washer I have ever bought! Never again. Very aggressive on clothes while washing (clothes come out twisted and tangled) yet the clothes never seemed clean afterwards. After a couple of years, we noticed that it started to get loud during the spin cycle. We just assumed that it was the machine. The noise got worse (of course, when out of warranty). Last week, the main bearing finally failed completely. Not worth the several hundred dollar repair cost. Online research shows that this is a very common failure. There really needs to be a class action law suit against this manufacturer.

Homeboy isn’t even three years old yet and it’s had issues with its drum components. Turns out you can’t put too much in it and it doesn’t even know how to deal with items like sheets or it seriously, and like literally, goes out of whack. How do you know? Because it goes BANG! BANG! BANG! and the whole unit moves around the laundry room. I asked the repair dude if this is a thing with this brand and he was like, “Yeah.” Oh well, the quest for the perfect washing machine continues. At least it’s less expensive than an iPhone.

We have run about 10 loads and are more than happy with the machine. The low water use is difficult to get used to, but it just goes to show us how much water we wasted over the years with the old technology. My advice: Read the directions! Lay your items in properly. Start machine and forget about it! Let it do its thing. Not noisy at all, it does go through a lot of checking and sensing, don't worry. We have not done a comforter yet, but will use deep wash when that time comes.

We had our new washer delivered the beginning of May. The middle of June it broke down, it took 3 weeks to get someone out to fix it. Then the very load after it was fixed it did the same thing. There's a metal tab under the controls that the basket got caught up under, which threw the spin off so it went side to side. The second time took another 2 weeks to get someone out and they replaced the drum. That didn't fix it they said it was something else. Another 2 weeks. Then they said it was fixed. Now it's making this awful noise and sending a repairman again. That's 4 times a repairman has had to come out in 5 months. I have been without a reliable washer more than having the use of one. Found out that Whirlpool owns Maytag and the warranty only covers repairs and the only way they will replace it is if the repairman say it's unrepairable

I purchased this appliance 5 years ago, now it’s broken! I also purchased extended warranty with whirlpool , owners of Maytag and was told it can not be fixed. Maytag is meant to be a good brand and should last minimum of 10-13 yrs but this did not!! Do not buy this appliance. Also be careful with Whirlpools AGI Insurance for extended warranty. There have been numerous complaints from consumers of them refusing to pay claims and fix products when needed. A technician of theirs finally came to my home after about 6 weeks to supposedly fix my appliance but broke the parts into pieces and left, only for warranty people to call me that the machine can not be fixed. They then offered a miserly amount, like 1/4 of the cost price as buy out!! Not happy!!!

I really like my Maytag washer. I’ve had it now for 6 years. The only issue is occasionally it gets stuck in spin cycle & doesn’t complete the cycle without me intervening. It usually just on larger cycles.

I purchased this washer and dryer a little while back and I absolutely hate the washer. I understand the importance of high efficiency but when all of the clothes do not get washed or even wet, what's the purpose? And I am not overloading the washer to where the clothes should not get wet and washed. Now i feel the need to use the high water cycle so my clothes actually get washed. After the wash is done on the normal cycle, 90% of the time I have to do the drain and spin cycle again due to the fact that my clothes are still dripping water. I would not recommend anyone to purchase this washer. I'm very disappointed in the fact that this is a Maytag. I expected much more from this brand. Please, Best Buy.. do not have your employees recommend this washer. I paid a good about of money for this washer to be highly let down.

Loved the look of the washer and price but it is very noisy and sounds like it knocks during the wash cycle. Would love to return it for something much quieter.

My maytag I bought last November is having an affair with my washer repair man. This machine is noisey, leaves dry spots on clothes during the wash cycle, ties shirt sleeves in knots and tears fringe off of blouses. Repair man has been out 2 times and says everything is OK. This machine replaced a 20 yr old maytag and shows how workmanship and quality no longer exist. Maytag doesn't want to do anything but send my machines boyfriend (repairman) back out tell me everything is OK. If you are looking for the quality, workmanship and customer service you used to get 20 years ago, don't buy Maytag. They no longer have any of those.

This is the first new washer I've purchased in 18 years. It's the first high-efficiency washer I've used, and I am disappointed. I have to use the deep wash cycle or it doesn't not supply enough water to cover the clothes and adequately wash the load. Also, even when I select the "Wrinkle Control" cycle, all the items are highly wrinkled after washing, As a result, all the laundry (even items I used to be able to hang up to air dry) needs to be ironed.

Easy to set up, lots of features but not complicated to use.

This is a fairly expensive machine for only lasting three years with very little use.Was delivered with a broken capacitor mount.Now it will not spin.Replaced lid lock,actuator inspected drive belt.Waiting for control board.Buy a Samsung or GE and the cheapest model available.That is what we have done in the past and had great results.It is a nightmare.

I am so disappointed in this Maytag washing machine. I've had it only a week and it appears to be very cheaply made - the top loading lid slams down if you don't handle it with kid gloves. It is also the absolute noisiest washing machine I've ever had in 40 years1 If you like hearing loud SNAP! CRACKLE! POP! every time you wash a load of clothes from start to finish, then buy this machine. It doesn't clean well either. The COST of the machine wasn't cheap - but the machine itself is. I thought Maytag would be a better brand. I believe I could have bought the cheapest machine out there and had as good or better than this one.

Compared to the vintage 1986 agitator washer it replaced, this machine has been a disappointment, It's temperamental, takes much longer than the old machine to complete a wash and sometimes doesn't perform correctly at all. The machine senses the weight and balance of the load and if it decides it doesn't like the way it's been loaded, it might take a long, long time to finish the job. Or, as with a recent wash, leave the load sopping wet when done. Or, as it did a few month ago, simply stop and wait for you to figure out how to get it going again. My old machine didn't care what you put in it or how it was loaded. This machine cares a lot about that, and if you don't do it to its satisfaction the result can be very unpredictable (and not in a good way). I expect technology to improve things, not create problems that didn't exist with the old technology, while providing little, if any, benefit in return.

This machine never did perform well. It is now gone after 4 and a half years. During that time we repaired it to the tune of $279.00. Then the suspension mechanism broke. We put up with the noise and the machine walking around until the computer finally died. Thought we were buying quality but I guess Maytag is a name of old. We didn't spend the extra $200 for extended warranty, didn't think it would be necessary. Just try and get Maytag Corp. to assist. Got nowhere. Very little water, even in 'deep water' mode. Hence the clothes never really got clean. Really cant wash properly without water. Could go on and on about it's substandard performance. Just take my word, DO NOT BUY!

I’ve had this washer for 3 years. My first issue, it started leaking. Second issue, really loud noise. I got warranty and thankfully, I was still within the timeframe for it to get fixed. My other issue that I have til’ this day, the clothing does not smell at all of the softener. I’ve tried multiple softeners and nothing seems to leave it smelling fresh and clean. For it to leave it smelling good, I need to wait until the rinse cycle comes on, wait for it to fill up with water, pause the machine, add softener to the water and then resume the washing cycle. If you like your clothing to smell like softener, do not buy this washer. I can’t wait to get another washer!!! Definitely will not be buying MAYTAG!!!
