The option for a deep water wash was important to me. Unfortunately, when using this option, the water level is determined by weight not by volume. Most BUT NOT ALL loads will come beautifully clean with minimum water. Loads with surface debris such as grass clippings, dog hairs, lint and loose dirt will not. Those loads need to be completely submerged in water in order to release and remove the debris from the items washing. We have a puppy and we live on forested property. I have a lot of loads with loose debris. These loads all come out of the washer with most of the original debris plastered to the freshly washed item. Very little of this plastered debris comes out in the dryer. I now have to use a lint roller before folding. I'm not happy about that. The other disappointment is the functionality of the agitator. I thought the smaller size would be less likely to tangle the wash load. WRONG. This is the fourth Maytag washer I have owned, and my wash is dreadfully tangled on an ongoing basis. Shame, shame MAYTAG!

Laundry eating machine

After the first two loads of laundry, everything was fine. However, on the third load of laundry, which was sheets and pillowcases, the machine sucked one of the sheets down between the agitator and the tub and it took a lot of muscle power to get it free. I returned the set (washer and dryer) within the return policy guidelines of Best Buy.

Second, it is an he washer and no matter what you do you will not get enough water to properly fill the machine in order to properly wash the clothes. If you are looking for a machine that will work like the old ones than you need to get a Speed Queen, simple as that. You may pay a little more but you will be happy.

I returned the first one bc it was junk & didn't clean clothes & this one I was able to watch thru the top glass how SLOW the clothes moved, how they stuck up out of the water bc the water was so low, I could've washed the clothes faster BY HAND & got them CLEANER!! Absolutely HATE these NEW MAYTAG machines!! This fancy machine was supposed to detect load size & how much water was needed, what a JOKE!! I RETURNED IT, horrible experience with MAYTAG customer service & BEST BUY 1-800 #'s were completely ridiculous & too much to type, NEVER AGAIN!!

However, it is difficult to use and we had to already have a service call in the warranty period.

One time it uses like an inch of water the next time the clothes will be covered. It is possible for the buttons to break off of you clothes. Make sure you hit the right button because if you want to change your mind, it will drain the water out with your detergent instead of just letting you push a different cycle. If it gets un-balance it drains out your water with fabric softer/detergent.

I was surprised, because the machine itself is not oversized. It gets clothes really clean. Some reviews stated that some of their clothes did not get wet because of the water level. I think these customers just loaded their washer incorrectly. I would recommend this washer.

Definitely not buying another one of these. Only issue for two years was the center agitator cap would come off regularly. Just expected a much longer life from a Maytag.

Our previous machine did not have this issue. The energy saving low water level barely covers a load. The top loading door is slanted, so anything on top, slides off. They made the part of the door that is touched most in a badly designed chrome, which gets dirty and scratches easily. Overall this is not worth the money and doesn’t get clothes clean.
