Failed after 14 months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased the equivalent in 2013. Just trashed it after 5 years of aggravation, $$$, and wasted time. First component (hot/cold mix solenoid) failed at 14 months, 2 months after warranty expired. Lid-lock control failed a few months later, followed by another couple more component failures over the next couple years. Spent about $200 on replacement parts in all - not to mention the time spent researching and determining which component to replace. Spin control just failed recently: The straw that broke the camel's back. Spent some money & got a commercially built Speed Queen.

In hindsight would buy something else
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice looking washer, kinda works ok, but bricked in 3 months, useless. Service call placed and they can not send anyone for two weeks. I'm out $900 (also got extended service and required hoses), and I'm doing my clothes at a laundromat for two weeks. I give two stars on the assumption that the service call will be successful. Pro's: I like the see-through lid, and the feel of the main knob. Con's: As others have mentioned, loads come through with dry spots, so I don't know how the heck it can actually wash clothes. You can watch through the clear lid and see that your jeans or whatever just sit dry on the top slowly oscillating but never agitating nor submerging. And as mentioned this one failed hard almost immediately.

Was great for a year.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After only having this washer for just over a year the electric panel decided it would stop working. I was half way threw washing a load of cloths when I heard the machine beeping. When I went to look it was showing a F6 code which I found out is a electrical communication error. I called Maytag and said we would have to replace the whole control panel that would cost over $300 and they are on back order for over a month. And of course their warrant doesn’t cover electrical issues. Needless to say I will not be buying a Maytag again and will be out looking of a new washer today. Only positive is it did wash my cloths well when it did work.

Love doing laundry now!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's hold so much!! It's not too loud. The heavy soiled and deep fill options make all the difference. I would definitely recommend this product.

Poor Was Quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After using this for a month, and trying every setting on this machine, it is impossible to eliminate the white patches on all of our dark clothing, and get the majority of clothes clean. From different brands of soap, to using hardly any soap at all, to extra rinse cycles and deep fill option, nothing fixes this issue. Having to hand rinse and lint roll every dark piece of clothing to eliminate these white patches is ridiculous. The amount of water and energy this machine uses to attempt to clean and rinse clothes is absolutely appalling. What a joke. It is well built, but just doesn't wash well at all. I routinely watch clothes remain on the top of the load during a wash cycle, never being drawn down by the agitator and cleaned. they emerge mostly dry and spotted. Without using deep fill, this machines fills with about 4" inches of water for a full load. My clothes literally are beating together dry and ruining them slowly. I don't care what they say this isn't enough water to wash. They don't even smell clean afterwards. And yes, I have adjusted load sizes, water levels, wash cycles, soap amounts, and spin cycles. Nothing makes it better. Wish I could get my old machine back. So glad the government mandated these low water usage HE appliances. 2-3 times the cycle time, energy and water of my 22 year old washer. Can not and would not recommend this washer.

I HATE this machine, worst washer EVER!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did so much research prior to purchasing this washer...I read all of the reviews, I visited so many stores and this one "seemed" to be the best of what was out there. This thing SUCKS!! If you don't mind dirty clothes, detergent remnants left on everything and all the wrinkles still in your shirts and pants, then this is the machine for you!! The "deep fill" option is a complete JOKE, it doesn't fill the machine in the least. I can be washing tshirts and undergarments or a whole load of jeans and the autosensing feature NEVER EVER adds enough water to even cover the layer of clothing. I always end up pausing the cycle to open the lid and adding 3-4 gallons of water to the load. The agitator starts when there isn't enough water and starts stretching your precious clothes and just about ruins them. Every load I have done, the dark items come out with white, chalky detergent markings all over them, my husbands dress shirts still have all the wrinkles and creases in them and any pet hair or dirt remains on the clothing. This is the worst washer I have ever used and please don't be fooled by all the positive reviews, I'm hoping to sell mine and go get a Speed Queen; I've heard nothing but good things from them. If only my washer of 25 years didn't die, or I would have kept it. These new, improved models are horrible folks!!

Great!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had this unit for 3 years and love it. The only con I can think of is it gets unbalanced a lot if I put too many towels in but otherwise it is great!

Warning... eats clothes!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife washes a lot of sheets. Any thinner material article, like bed sheet, works between the agitator and the drum and gets wedged. In 6 months, this has happened about 6 times. Seems to be occurring more frequently now. Sometimes you can pull it out easily. Sometimes I have almost lifted the washer off the floor by the sheet before it comes out. I have Googled how to remove the agitator in order to free the caught cloth. It is a horrendous procedure. We are seeing what we can do but I'm afraid they won't take it back. My wife's business requires her to wash a lot of loads of sheets. I feel like we can't count on this thing.

Washing Technology is Going Backwards
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Damages clothes even when set to "delicates" and "deep fill", probably because it starts agitating as the tub is filling, and it still does not clean as well as the old, reliable machines from the '50s, '60s and '70s! It cleans slightly better than the useless front loader it replaced. I should have kept my money and found a used antique machine. All the good reviews must be from people who have no experience with a good washing machine, before this high efficiency nonsense-it's not efficient to have to wash a load three times because it doesn't get clean!

Cannot recommend this machine
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Decent looking top load machine with agitator. However: User interface does not allow changes to the cycle or pausing to open the lid mid-wash, which I prefer to do occasionally. Machine does not self-clean properly with cleaning agent, leaving a foul smell all the time. Need to use liquid bleach regularly to get the smell out and then the washer smells like bleach. The clutch system started making a horrible grinding noise after 2 years requiring repair out of warranty. Looking at the plastic clutch pieces, they are flimsy plastic designed to fail. How did the quality of these washers get so poor? My next machine will be a different brand, probably an import from a reputable manufacturer. It is so sad to see how bad Maytag has become.

Terrible Customer Service!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted a washer that had a deep fill option, so when I found this washer, I immediately went and bought it. I installed the product, turned it to the deep fill option to make sure it was working, and waited for it to fill up. It filled up about 2 inches and stopped. I thought maybe I was doing something wrong, so I called customer service. Easy enough, right? NO. An hour and a half on hold, I just got sick of waiting and hung up. I called back again, this time I pressed the button for "interested in a new product", and what do you know? They picked up within a minute... Wow, what a surprise. Knowing that they would just transfer me to another 2 hour wait, I gave them a piece of my mind and hung up. I will be returning this product for that reason. Overall, If you ever have a problem with this washer, don't expect to get any help from Maytag!

Lost reputation for Maytag
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Maytag has been a lemon. I have been so disappointed with this washer from the very beginning I’ve had gig squad come out several times to fix it within the first six years even having a motor replaced well. It’s dead again this time it’s the panel and it’s probably cheaper to just purchase another one, another brand for that matter. My mother has had a Maytag for over 35 + years. This maytag did not even make it two years without having work done to it. I’m so disappointed with Maytag. My dryer is soon to die as well, only seven years old the panel for starting the dryer doesn’t always work. I’m learning in my old age that less is more. The less bells & whistles the better. I would not recommend this washer..

Not Reliable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very dissatisfied with the quality of this washing machine. We purchased it in January 2020. It stopped working after 4 years of use and displayed a code of F6 E3. I had an appliance service technician check the machine. He told me that the main electronic control unit was not working and would be a $550 repair. Of course, the 10-year warranty does not cover this part. I specifically purchased a Maytag because of its reliability. This is not the quality that I expected from this company.

Buyer Beware!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So disappointed! After only a little over 3 years both my Maytag washer and dryer gave out. I have had two repairs to the dryer and 1 repair to the washer that cost $450 alone! I’m currently having to pay for over $600 in repairs. I can’t buy new ones because with tax and warranty on new ones I would be looking at $1500 to 2k. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of this washer and dryer. Currently I’m washing at a local laundromat when I have practically a new washer and dryer sitting at home! Repair guy says normal wear and tear and sees this often at the 3-4 mark! I’m shocked and in disbelief.

NOT LIVING UP TO THE MAYTAG STANDARD
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Rapid wash just kept filling and emptying all at once, The delicate cycle filled the tub half full with only 3 items, and yet the loaded washer only fills the tub up to 1/3 full. With the water conservation feature some of the clothes weren't even wet, in removing them there were patches of dry, which meant they hadn't even touched water, and lastly, the wrinkle control doesn't work. Our clothes are coming out twisted and deeply wrinkled. Will call for a return. 2 stars only because I'm still loyal (but very disappointed) to the Maytag brand which has been in the family for 50 years.

Don't Know How Machine Has Any Positive Reviews
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can’t say enough about how much I regret this purchase. The agitator destroys delicates. If you choose to wash a load with cold water, low dirt level, and low spin the machine jerks and twists your clothes as if you selected heavy and high spin. After two years of use I went to remove a load of clothes about 20 mins after the cycle finished. When I opened the lid I discovered that the top left of the lid had cracked open. I later read other reviews that reveal this happens all the time and the Maytag refuses to cover it. They won’t even cover the service fee for someone to come and look at it. I now have to hold down the lid every time I start a load until it locks and every couple of loads it can’t unlock so it beeps incessantly until I open it. This is hell with a sleeping baby in the house.
