Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Did anyone from Maytag Quality Control ever try washing and drying a load of clothes in this washer and matching 7.4 Cu. Ft. 9-Cycle Electric Dryer? I doubt it. I washed several loads and tried adjusting the settings so that the clothes would not come out of washer so wet (max extract spin speed, etc). Didn't work, so I thought that dryer would take care of that. Did not! I also tried everything I could think of on dryer and still we have damp clothes coming out of dryer -- even after running one load twice! I read the manual (not just the quick start) because I wanted to fully understand how to use this set. We are in the process of arranging a return for an LG set, hoping that it will do the job. LG gets good feedback and my daughter has a set which I have used with no complaints. Our original Maytag washer and dryer lasted about 30 years and I know that no one makes them as well as in the past, but I expected to at least be able to have an acceptable wash and drying of clothes. Even our previous 10-year old Whirlpool Cabrio washer/dryer that we just replaced washed and dried the clothes properly. Maytag -- what happened to you?

In two years we’ve had the agitator keep coming loose, eventually had a tech come out and replaced it. Now it’s started throwing loads off balance and making a loud clicking sound.

Buyer Beware

Had repair man work on it and six weeks later started leaking again. One evening with lid up and water turned off the washer came on by itself. Potential fire hazard. Will never own a Maytag again.
