    RUN!!!!!

Absolute worst washer I’ve ever had. This washer is 25 Months old. Started a load of wash the other day - filled and then completely quit working. No power to it - nothing. Was full of water and laundry could not unlock it to drain and get clothes out. Called repair man - he opened it from the back and removed water with a shop n vac. Computer board was bad. $500 to replace and repair. I chose to buy a NEW washer of a different brand for $200 more dollars. This washer is difficult with king size sheets - they get twisted around the agitator as do clothes. I thought the agitation would get clothes cleaner but it did not. Can be very hard on clothes. Bleach didn’t always dispense completely and the following loads would be spotted. The machine often gets unbalanced. Don’t waste your time, money and clothing on this machine. RUN!!!!!

Washing machine cleans well. Must be sure to drop clothes in evenly or clothes will get wrapped around agitator causing washer to get off balance and clothes to get possibly destroyed. Washer nice size. I can do 2 loads of laundry in what would take me 3-4 with my old washer. Reasonably quiet

we bought this washer because the reviews were great at the time and it has a large capacity.. If I could go back, I would spend the extra for a speed queen. The washer kind of does it job. For example, my partner works a blue collar job and comes home with dirty clothes. We can only put up to 5 of his work shirts in the washer at a time or otherwise they don’t get clean. Similarly, my gym clothes sometimes come out with a smell still on them. For those that have pets, we have two large dogs that love the mud. When we have to wash our duvet cover, it typically has to be washed twice because the washer won’t clean the mud off the first time. Also for context, I take everything out and shake it off as much as possible before to make sure I don't have anything extra for the washer to clean and use 2 tablespoons of tide measured out. I also clean the washer monthly with afresh to try to combat anything built up to no avail. Ultimately, we do half loads because it washes so poorly and often times we have to rewash because the items come out dirty still or have detergent on them. So, yes, you’ll get clean laundry after you divide up your laundry and wash each load couple times so I will say it does eventually do its job so I gave it a 2 star. Also, when people say it’s loud, they are not kidding. We put this in a back room of our house, and run it with the door shut. We can still hear it, and just raise our music or tv volume. If it’s in a basement, I’m sure it wouldn’t noticeable. We’ve had it exactly 1 year and I’ll be surprised if the washer makes it another year. If you have more than 2 people in your house, have pets, or do activity/job that results in very dirty clothes, I would not recommend this product.

So far I’m loving this machine. I wanted a large capacity washer (for bedding), & did not want a front load option. This Maytag performs beautifully, has not become unbalanced (an issue I’ve found in previous machines from other manufacturers), & cleans very well. My only “issue”, which I think is more a learning curve for me than a defect, is for delicates I want a very gentle agitation. I found the agitation a bit too strenuous for my liking, but after reading the manual more thoroughly I will try the wrinkle guard option the next time. Other than that, very pleased with this purchase.

Right now I'm going with good and I hope it stays that way throughout the life of the washer. It isn't anything special and performs as all the other models on the market. I doesn't have that old time solid feel of a washer and I'm hoping it last for at least 10 years. So far it is doing well and washes the clothes that I have put in it pretty well. It does take some getting used to at first as it isn't like the old washers that fill up and then run. This one kind of fills a little then runs then fills up more then runs and so on until it's comfortable with the amount of water it has in the tub. The controls are simple enough but even at that my older mother has trouble with how this operates, not sure if it's just still too new or she's going to have trouble moving forward, time will tell on that one. I've explained several times and I foresee explaining more times that the buttons aren't push buttons but touch enabled. The other one is to start the washer that you have to touch the on button until the countdown ends and the machine starts. Not sure why this is programmed like that but I even feel it is an annoyance. Touching start should just start the machine without that lag. Overall right now I would say it's a good machine but we've only had it for a few weeks at the time of this writing.

Our last washer purchase was about 15 years ago. Things have certainly changed in the world of washers and dryers since then. Watching this machine work can be somewhat entertaining. We were used to the normal water fill process and then the machine was off and running. This washer is constantly measuring and evaluating the load situation. Some of the "decisions" it makes are curious, but we are slowly adopting a "trust the technology" approach. We have run multiple cycles and tried almost all of the features, and so far, it seems to be performing well. It's just going to take a little getting used to . . .

The unit functioned properly for the first 10 months. After that, it began making noise and vibrating. Eventually, some cycles wouldn't start, and it began agitating the clothes before any water was visible. This marked the beginning of significant issues. This product is of very low quality. As shown in the service timeline below, the same parts repeatedly fail. I'm relieved I bought the extended warranty because otherwise, I would have spent a substantial amount on repairs. I strongly advise against purchasing Maytag products. Run away from them! Purchase date: Feb 6, 2023 Issues started: Dec 2023. Services timeline: 1/12/24 - Found no faults present. Ran diagnostic and found in the high-speed spin a popping noise started. Inspected and found the slider faulty causing the issues. Replaced the slider and ran factory DLMS cycle tested, and unity ran through with no issues. Items changed: Slider A week later, we continued to experience noise issues; the machine began agitating the clothes before any water became visible again, and only the quick wash cycle was operational. 1/26/24 - Installed controls individually and cycled power in between each one to carry software over. Ran diagnostic cycle and DLMS cycle but the unit would not advance through the spin. Gave F7e& motor unable to reach the target rpm. Need to replace the clutch, stator and slider along with the gearcase. Items changed: HMI, control, gearcase, stator, clutch, slider. The washer began vibrating in June, and by July, certain cycles stopped working again. 8/07/24 - Found oil traces present from a gearcase failure. Need to replace gear case slider and clutch along with the control. 8/12/24 - Install control, gearcase, slider and clutch as needed and checked. All operations are currently normal. Items changed: control, gearcase, clutch and slider. After 20 days, we experienced significant vibration and noticed two cycles weren't functioning. We contacted the service again. 9/12/24 - Found oil traces present from a gearcase failure. Need to replace gear case slider and clutch along with the control. Current status: awaiting replacement parts.

After weighing the negative against the positive reviews, I decided to take the chance and purchase this machine. I wanted to buy an American Made machine, and I am so glad I did. This machine is a beast at cleaning. I'm not sure what the negative reviews are all about, but it does an amazing job on my laundry, that is all I cant speak to. My towels are fluffier, and my clothes come out cleaner than ever. It also tackles my big comforters easily, and is why I bought the this capacity washer. Now, I don't have to haul the big bulky comforters to the laundromat. I Love This Washer!

I've never had a washing machine that was current with the times so a lot of things are new to me since making the transition to this washing machine. I like being able to load my clothes/towels/etc. first and then determine how much detergent I need. Previously I had to put the detergent/oxi powder/etc. in first and then load clothes on top of it. This will save detergent. Also like being able to load fabric softener in overhead department so that I don't have to use downy ball. Sometimes the downy ball would stay closed in my old washer (also a Maytag). Almost everything is digital which I like for feeling techy but doesn't move the needle much. I like all of the various washing options I have. Also like that I can soak clothes but I haven't figured out yet the best way to do this since there is a timer on soak mode. Sometimes I want them to soak longer than 10 minutes to eliminate sour odor. Another con is that the garments sometimes get stuck around the agitator and make the machine shake and then I have to pause the load and loosen the garments. Didn't have to do this in previous washer because it didn't have an agitator. Not a deal breaker though. Overall, huge upgrade for my family.

I like the washer. Has all the bells & whistles. I don’t like is it takes so long to wash. Also don’t care for the fact you can only use pods of liquid detergent. Water amount is super low so I have to always wash on max fill. I do like the option to wash a large amount of clothes or comforter! I also like the smart features to control the wash from work.

This is the first new washer I've had in decades, so everything about it is new to me. So far, this has been a great device. It's much quieter than my age-old traditional washer, though you will have to get used to some new sounds. The motor drive system has a slight high-pitched pulsed electronic sound as it moves the drum back and forth. It is normal, but totally different than what you may be used to hearing with traditional, older belt-drive systems. It's very slight, so simply closing the washing area door will suffice. There are TONS of options, and there is a bit of a learning curve in how to select what you need. I probably won't need most of the options, but they're available if I ever find I need them later. It fills differently than my old washer, too. It doesn't just fill the drum with a set amount of water, wasting the excess. Instead, it puts some in, moves around, adds more, moves around, and tests itself before entering the primary wash cycle. This apparently uses less water, and optimizes each load according to material weight, size, and density. It will take a while to see if my water bill goes down, but I think it will over time. I had it professionally installed by a Best Buy tech, so it is well balanced and I haven't had to run to the washroom to stop it from shaking uncontrollably like my old washers when the load becomes unbalanced. I have not yet had an unbalanced load with this washer, even when washing very large loads. It also has a much bigger capacity than I'm used to, but it seems to handle everything I throw at it just fine. Even large blankets, bedding, and bath mats. It looks very sleek, and the see-through top-loading lid is kind of neat (my cat is fascinated). I like the slow closure mechanism, so the lid doesn't slam shut if you accidentally let go of it. In all, a very nice washer. I think I made a good choice so far.

DO NOT PURCHASE!!! After waiting months while this washer was on backorder the agitator broke. I wanted to love this washer but there are several flaws. The washing machine never fills with the appropriate amount of water. Even on deep fill the water doesn’t cover a large load of clothing. I scheduled a service appointment and have to wait two weeks for someone to diagnose the problem and if they don’t have the part available I will have to wait for it to be ordered. I could be looking at almost a month of waiting time for my washer to be fixed in hopes it will work properly. This is a huge inconvenience and Maytag needs to do better with service time. Please stay away from this washer and find another brand.

The capacity is amazing, but this thing is CONSTANTLY unbalanced no matter how carefully I distribute the clothes. I don’t over fill it either, there’s plenty of space at the top. I have at least 3-4 loads a week that I have to pull everything out and readjust for it to finish. Super annoying.

Wanted this Maytag washer after reading countless reviews. This model comes in white, with the impeller, or this slate color, which has an agitator. Wanted the 5.2 cubic foot for washing king size comforter and duvet. And the extra power button is a plus. This machine does not disappoint. Read reviews where people said the water level is too low. But it has a deep fill option that lets you add water, which is a wonderful feature. Very quiet and has a buzzer that lets one know when the wash is complete. very happy with this purchase.

We purchased this washer (and matching electric dryer) when the washer in our 16-yr old stopped working. The technology and efficiency have improved greatly in 16 years! This washer has so many settings that I don't know if we will ever use them all. We went from a front loader to this top-loader after reading a lot of reviews and talking with friends. Top loaders have become more efficient. We chose this model with the agitator after a couple friends told us they felt the agitator got the clothes cleaner. Yes, we lose a little space, but it has way more capacity than our old model. We also had Best Buy install the washer (and dryer) and they were very professional and courteous.

I wanted this washer because it is a top loader with an agitator. It takes longer for it to run compared to my old Whirlpool but three is a quick cycle that is comparable. It has a huge capacity and lots of options, like you can add more water when you want it and an extra power button when something is really dirty. I've only had it about a month but so far no issues.
