When it died, I bought another Maytag. I am not very happy with its performance. Sheets get bunched up and stop the cycle frequently. The response time for "pausing" and getting the machine to unlock is a crazy long time. It does a good job of cleaning the clothes, but the frustrations of the overall operation makes that a small benefit.

Thoroughly Disappointed

Went from a front loader to this top loader and have been sorry ever since. There is a bit of a learning curve going from the front loader to a top loader so we gave ourselves time to figure it out. It's been two years and we have been disappointed with it from day one. Without an agitator, it does not get clothes clean. If we have heavy stains, we still have to take our laundry to my in-laws who have a front loader. Washing larger items like towels and bedding, it frequently gets out of balance. I would not recommend this machine.

Help!

Was thrilled to get a matching set, and it is the top of the line for Maytag. However I am very disappointed with the washer. Even though the washer is a 5.3 cubic feet it does not wash any more than my previous washer. Even on the high water setting the tube is never over half full. I had expected to wash my queen size bedspread but owner manual states you can only wash a full size bedspread. We use more water now than previously due to the fact that if it is unbalanced it refills, agitates and attempts to spin again. I just washed 7 shirts and it has refilled three times attempting to correct balance so it could spin out. This is not a once and a while issue either. You could never leave the washer going unattended. Another issue is the water shuts off so abruptly that our water pipe bang in the basement and you can hear it upstairs. We have purchased and installed Water Hammer Arrestors which has helped a little but does not stop the banging entirely. Very disappointed with this top of the line Maytag washer's performance. Very over priced at nearly $1000 for the service it provides.
