This washer works really well. It's very large and I can easily wash my Cal King bedding. It is a little noisy.

We purchased a Maytag Washer and Dryer from The Home Depot in September of 2017. We did not purchase the extended warranty because of our "confidence" in the brand. Within less than a year, both appliances started making noises. By September of 2018, the washer sounded like it had a bag of mice squeaking inside every time we ran a load and had stopped spinning entirely. I called and spoke to a very kind lady who assured me that even if we were outside the one year manufacturers warranty, they would offer us the extended warranty without question because it was so close to the one year purchase. She took my credit card, we were charged for a five year plan and service was scheduled. After service, both units were still louder than I would prefer but the technician said it was "common". Over the last few months, both have become louder and louder. Now the dryer shuts off and won't stay on. When I called back to schedule service again, the date of our purchase was all of a sudden in question. (I applied for the contract over the phone so THEIR rep entered the purchase date) They are now telling us they will only honor the cost of parts and we are subject to pay for diagnostics and labor (which is the largest cost of repair). They are telling us our contract has to be cancelled and AFTER we receive and PAY FOR all but the parts, we can call and pay for a NEW contract. This has been the WORST appliance purchase we have EVER made and we have lost all confidence in the quality of Maytag/Whirlpool appliances. Both units have been VERY disappointing and we spent over $700 on each unit. NEVER AGAIN.

Long story short, this was sucks, and Best Buy protection plan is a joke. Baught this washer in july 2019, in january 2020 had to have a new motherboard put in. Now here we are in October 2020 and once agian the motherboard needs replace again. This washer is a replacement washer from geek squad protection as the first one had 3 motherboards replaced and they finally junked it out when motherboard went out 4th time in 2 years. This washer works well when it works. It took a week to get service, the motherboard has been ordered. First they say part will be here in 3 days, on 3rd day get email stating NO ETA for motberboard. I was on hold for 2.5 HOURS WITH GEEK SQUAD SPCIAL FORCES TEAM last night to see what can be done to just rellace washer. Theh tell me their hands are tied, nothing can be done in until part is avalaible. I explained I am a Registered Nursee who works with COVID positive patients and need to be able to wash my clothes as soon as i get home. The Supervisor at geek squad said, "i dont know what to tell you. We have to wait for the part." At this point I guess ill have to go buy another washer elsewhere. With a family of 5, 3 kids, a working husband and myself a RN, we need to be.s go do laundry on daily basis.

Very Happy with this Washer for the most part. the only thing I would change is the lid for a much more durable one. other than that everything is good.

It's huge and beautiful and gets the job done. I would buy again except the paint chipped off the dryer drum after a couple of weeks and manufacturer doesn't stand behind product. If they don't back the dryer, they won't back the washer should anything go wrong.

This is a good washer, takes a little longer to wash clothes though. Does a good job, quiet as well.

I can’t even explain how mad I am with Maytag I just bought this washer and dryer in February 2020 and I’ve already had someone come out here one time last month to fix it now it’s broke again and they always freaking tell me oh the earliest we can get you in is one week that’s what they always freaking say like are you gonna give me money to go wash my clothes somewhere else no and dude who has to come fix it is probably just sitting on his butt rn I could probably call the same company to actually come out today if I wanted to pay with my own money. Trashiest company ever will never buy from them again and don’t even get me started with their customer service. If you want to spend over $1,000 for something that doesn’t work be my guest but don’t think they will replace it for you cause they won’t unless the technician deems it “unrepairable” so they would rather come out to your house every month to fix it than get you a new one.

I bought this washing machine about 3 years ago. The setting that is the best to use is “deep water wash”, but even that setting does not clean clothes well. There are several problems that sometimes happen: * Clothes are not clean. * Clothes get twisted and tangled together. When that happens, small areas of the clothes in the middle are still dry after the clothes are taken apart. * Clothes on the top stay on the top during the washing cycle. * There is whitish-gray, lint-like debris on dark-colored clothes after the machine stops. After 2 years, the washing machine started making an extremely loud noise during the last spin cycle. A repairman came and said it is the bearings. (He also said that fixing it will take 2 people, so it is not an easy fix.) I am now waiting for a part and can’t use the washing machine for at least 2 weeks. I am so dissatisfied with this machine that I want to cancel the repair and buy a new machine that has an agitator and uses more water. Since that is not in my budget, I will have to continue using this machine when it is repaired.

We purchased this washer in January of 2018. We had it a little over 5 years. The control panel went out and it will cost almost $600 to fix it. If you google how long a Maytag washer lasts, it will tell you 10-11 years. I guess we’re the unlucky ones. When you buy a more high-end appliance, you expect it too last longer. Otherwise, why spend more money. Very disappointed in Maytag.

I was surprised when this washer arrived (I ordered online) and read that it was an HE machine. I like the low rise agitator but am concerned that water level is not high enough to fully clean clothes. So far so good though. Also the wash cycles are longer than my other Maytag. This is a real problem when you are trying to get laundry done before work. The regular load is over 1 hour! Delicates about 45 and Cold about 1:06. My older Maytag got done in about 35 -40 minutes tops. How can longer running machine be higher efficiency?

Broke after 2.5 years. The washer will not fill with water and the repair man was not able to fix it. Never liked this washer from the start. Huge capacity, but doesn't wash clothes very well. Have always had fuzz/scum on clothes, even with 2nd rinse. And, I used Assure to clean the washer, regularly. The wash cycles were incredibly long! STAY AWAY!!

In 45 years of washing machines, I have never experienced this problem (my solid dark items come out with white "embedded link" (for lack of better descriptor). All the feedback Maytag provides is just normal (Duh!) stuff---I don't use powdered detergent (and if I did, I would dilute before adding to clothes as I did years ago). Don't use too much detergent. I (because of this machine) now have to separate out towels and anything slightly fuzzy. To avoid the "white stuff" on solid darks, I have to: 1) wash them in their own (small) load, 2) use "Deep water wash" (which subverts the reason for getting a low-water machine here in CA!), and 3) cross my fingers that I don't have to wash the load a second time. This is my very FIRST brand-new washing machine in my entire life and I am SOOOOO disappointed. I almost cry many times as I pull out the laundry from the washing machine and think that I am stuck with this one for many years (too expensive to replace it now).

I had bought this brand new about 3 years ago and it was working fine for the first 6 months then we started to have issues. So we did what anyone else would which was call to get it checked by Maytag so they came and “fixed” our issue and to this day it just got worse and worse. Now the washer goes off balance during the spin cycle and no matter how little you add to it, it always goes off balance. I think it’s time for a new washer and new brand.

Swapped mom's old agitator washing machine for this seemingly better one. We hate it! Leaves white residue on clothes and doesn't wash well at all. Dark pants with dog slobber come out exactly how we put them in. Mom has to hand wash these items after they come out half clean. Tried to wash a twin-size, thin comforter and it kept rinsing/draining over and over again; filling up all the way to the top. I had to shut it down and call customer service. To my surprise I was told that the machine was not for washing bedding!!!??? Next try was 2 bath mats, it kept filling all the way to the top and draining... called customer service again and was told that it was not for washing mats! So now we have to go to the laundromat to wash bigger items. Our water bill hasn't exactly improved as we thought it would with a machine that supposedly uses less water as it fills up several times to wash a small load. A technician told us that you have to load it evenly and not cover up the circle in the middle otherwise it would keep readjusting by adding more water. We have tried that but when the machine works, the normal friction makes the clothes shift and it eventually covers up that circle, so we are not sure how this is supposed to work. Mom is tired of it and we are going to have to buy her a new one and dispose of this one. Very disappointed!!

We rushed to purchase our washer and dryer set and I regret it. This washer seemed alluring due to its large capacity and lack of agitator. The sad truth is that our clothes don’t get cleaned well no matter which cycle we choose. There is a bubble residue left behind on dark clothing, and our towels continue to leave lint on us as we dry off with them because they aren’t getting knocked off in the wash cycle. After owning this for 1 month it squeals when it starts up, and its too late to return it. We’re moving soon and this piece of crap will surely stay with the house. Yikes. Do your homework before you purchase something that will bring you this much frustration!

After 29 years, I replaced my trouble-free Kenmore washer. Based on the sales people's recommendation on Maytag reliability, I went with this washer. It worked fine on the first load -- none of the issues everyone spoke of. On the second load, it stopped with a LF (low flow) error code. I restarted it and it worked fine. On the third load, it won't go beyond the LF error code. Water is dribbling in, at best. I've checked the hoses coming in and there is plenty (lots actually) of water pressure. The problem seems to be inside the unit. And here's the biggest issue -- 10 days to get an earliest appointment to have someone look at it. So much for those old ads where the Maytag repairman has nothing to do. I guess they don't claim that sort of reliability anymore. Very disappointed in this product.

I had high hopes for this machine. I had been waiting for my previous washing machine to break so I could get a new one. Based on the manufacturing date, my old machine was around 20 years old (it came with our house.) We use our machine a lot, and there were a lot of features I liked on this machine, but it needed to be replaced in less than 3 years. The lid broke and it was so expensive to fix it made more sense to buy a new machine.

Maytag is usually know for there quality product, but the washer broke after three year of purchase.

It washes OK but, it makes a lot of noise and sometimes it goes on for a long time, I can not stop the machine and change the settings, impossible to do, once you press start if you want to change cold to hot or anything else to bad, to late, I must accept the fact Maytag could not go to the trouble of making a functional machine. Deep water wash is a lie. Even if I unplug the machine for an hour when I plug it back in it starts making the incredibly annoying sound again.
