    Dead on arrival

    The day it was delivered started and died. All the control shows as if normally working with all the indicator lights going thru the sequence without the dryer working at all, even reached the end cycle indicating complete. Bad design controller. Replacement is still running.

    Cycle selections quit after 3rd use

    Suddenly after the 3rd use of this new gas dryer the only cycle that would work (and only inconsistently) was the Wrinkle Control cycle. All other cycles would beep twice when selected indicating a problem. No Geek Squad contact number was provided with the purchase of the Total Geek Squad contract. So a search of the internet provided a number. Was told by the tech after reviewing the problem to contact Whirlpool service...which happens to be closed toady. Would you be happy if your new dryer didn't work as designed? I don't think so!

    Starting problems

    This would not start for me. When I pushed the start button, all the lights would begin flashing, but nothing else would happen. The first repairman told me to lick my finger before pressing start (really). The second repair call had the guy replace the panel circuitry, and it has worked twice so far. I thought getting an American made Maytag would be perfect. Not so much

    Bought this dryer from best buy! It was delivered with a dent on the side, already this should have served as a bad omen. We had to install it ourself due to COVID, well this is the worst dryer ever, it wont dry. Call geek squad, on hold for 25 minutes. Waste of my time i have to deal with whirpool directly during 1st year pf purchase. Mind you i bought a 5 year warranty with best buy. Now my wait time with whripool 45 minutes . Still waiting!,,,, Should i just call best buy in a year?

    Drum Felt Seal Problem

    Returned dryer within 15 days. Dryer sheets get tangled in drum felt seal, Location is always the same - directly under the outlet screen door grill. Had to stick my head into drum and remove dryer sheets. Hold to start, press to pause doesn't always respond to touch.

    Worse dryer I have ever owned

    This dryer only seems to work on timed. The auto modes make the clothes come out damp. Hard to dry small loads.

    The dryer leaves far too many items damp after following the appropriate instructions regarding dry time. Very frustrating to repeat the drying process.

    It did not heat. Also the touchscreen controls were difficult to use, especially the button to start a cycle. The product was returned..

    Dryer does not work properly!

    This dryer does not dry clothes completely. It takes 2 hours for a medium load of clothes to dry on what is the highest setting. It just keeps running and running. Towels actually do not dry in this dryer - and I buy the thinnest towels, I always have to hang dry them. Jeans do not dry. I opened the dryer last night (March 28, 2021) and smelled smoke and a burning scent, inside the drum, so I had to turn the dryer off right away and unplug it. I checked the lint/exhaust and there was none - which I expected as I change it every time. The burning smell came from the engine. Now the dryer is unusable. Broken. I contacted Best Buy by phone to get an actual copy of my receipt, and they said to go online, to Help chat, and I did. Chat could not find a copy of my receipt so that I could deal with Maytag, as this dryer has a 10 year warranty on the engine. I have a credit card statement verifying this purchase from Best Buy - and online, Best Buy shows my purchase in a "Service" history - but not a purchase history. I need a receipt! or I need Best Buy to make this right. The chat person told me he could not access my receipt. I called the store but they are not taking calls. This is a real run-around. Do not buy this dryer, and I question buying anything from Best Buy until they make this right. $900.00 + and no service.

    I had the exact same experience as another reviewer. It would not start after turning the machine on, and the lights would flash. Once we did manage to finally get it to come on, the clothes were not entirely dry when the cycle completed. Frustrating to say the least. I've had this dryer for 9 days and am exchanging it for a different dryer. At least Best Buy has a phenomenal exchange policy if done within 15 days after receiving. No re-stocking fee and no questions asked.
