Great overall dryer. Great size and quiet compared to orthers

When the dryer works it’s “decent,” if you have towels (or heavier loads) you’ll have to do tow cycles. More importantly, we had to have the belt/pulley repaired 4 years after purchase. Despite the broadly advertised 10 year warranty, we were told by the third party repair company, Flamingo Appliance, that we would have to pay for the repairs out of pocket. The cost was nearly 1/3 of what we purchased the dryer for. Five months later, the dryer is making noise again and not spinning. If we have to pay out of pocket again, it may make more sense to get a new unit.

This dryer is huge. It's also very quiet. I've notice some comments about holding the start button for a few seconds being an issue but directions are in the manual. I had originally commented that the lint trap was awkward to empty. That was before today when I realized you simply open the lint trap and it couldn't be easier to clean!!! (Didn't see that in the manual but may not have perused the entire manual...) The dryer door hinges on both the left and right sides and the semi-rigid dryer hose does work with this unit. Also bought the washer and looking forward to seeing how these Beasts handle my king sized comforter...

Load capacity to dry the complete clothes and doesn’t overheat

7 years later and running as good as the day we bought it. Maybe no one sees this, but Maytag, in my experience, is as good and sturday as they get.

I’ve had this dryer for quite some time now. It is great with many features. Haven’t had any issues with it yet.

This dryer has plenty of useful settings. It is easy to use and has a very large capacity size for large loads. The chimes are helpful for letting you know we're you are in the drying process. The dryer uses a lot less water than my previous one.

We love the dryer, but the Geek Squad leaves a lot to be desired for the warranty.

I purchased this dryer in March of 2019. The dryer is only going on 4 years old. I had to have the barrings and the belt replaced already. It’s supposed to be commercial grade. I would recommend the ridged piping for the dryer on installation instead of the standard cheaper piping they offer. I was told by the gentleman that repaired my dryer that the more ridged piping is better in the long run for cleaning and keeping your dryer, house and family safe. Research another dryer that will hopefully last longer than 4 years before needing repair.

I took this in 2017 and it’s really good. It’s very efficient dryer for larger loads.

I bought this dryer to replace my 20+ year old Maytag dryer. The most important features for me in choosing this model was the pull down door and access to the lint trap on the inside rather than the top. That left me with 2 options. I went with this one because it had fewer, simpler settings than the more expensive model. What I have found I don't like about this one is how complicated it is to start. To start the dryer: Push the power button on, select the setting, then use just the right pressure and hold until the dryer starts. To change to a different setting or start a new load: Turn the power button off, turn back on, choose your setting and apply just the right amount of pressure and hold until the dryer starts. Too many steps! I like my old dryer of choosing the setting with a turn of the dial and push the button to start. If my laundry has wrinkled from being left in overnight, the dryer senses everything is dry and cuts off before I'm ready or able to fold/hang all the items. I also find that some items do not dry well. An example is my plush robe: lightly touched it feels dry, but with a heavier touch, you can feel the center still damp. So right now I use the heavy duty or denim setting on everything. The top is also slanted so things tend to slide off. I do like that this dryer holds more laundry than my previous dryer.

It's rare I take time to write a review, but this has been such a horrible dryer I decided to warn others. The first one worked great for 4 days then made a very loud noise. It was like a mix between metal grinding and electrical coil whine. You could feel the floor shaking. I called Best Buy, and they were great. They had a replacement sent within 2 days. The 2nd unit didn't work right from the start. Day 1 the unit stopped and displayed F6 E3. I unplugged it/plugged it back in and it sort of worked right. You should have to hold on your finger on the start button for a few seconds to get the dryer to start. I would stand there attempting to get the thing going for a couple of minutes before it would start. On day 3 the F6 E3 errors became constant. Unplug/plug in and the dryer would go for 5 mins, after multiple attempts holding your finger on the start button, and then stop displaying the error code. Research shows that error is due to an electrical issue and or bad control board. I will be calling Best Buy tomorrow and changing to a different band. I assume there's currently issues with one of the manufacturing batches.

This Dryer is huge! My Cal King Bedding drys well without having to take it out, shake it and restart it. Love this dryer! It works fast too.

I bought this dryer six months and am very unhappy with it. The problem from the beginning was using the sensor dry. It gets stuck and will run and run without any heat. I have to use the timed dry feature several times to get the clothes dry and even that takes a long time. Also, the clothes are wrinkled even after taking them out right away. I called the warranty dept. to have a service tech come out only to tell me it was the vent (even though we had already had the vents serviced when we moved in to our new house.) He advised me to run the dryer without the vent and if I had the same problem, call them back. Well it did and had a second service guy come out. He said he found an error code and ordered a circuit board. He came out again to install it and said that should fix it. NO, that did not fix it. Same problem. After over two months of this, with the dryer still not working, I called the Safety Department. I was on hold for over 30 minutes and the guy on the phone was very rude. Wow! Okay, I asked for a new dryer, because this one has never worked properly, but they want to send out another service man. This has been a very bad experience for me. I will NEVER buy another Maytag or Whirlpool appliance again.

This dryer has been a nightmare. We have had it for 5 months now, and it leaves clothes damp at least 80% of the time. We have had 5 service calls from the repair company Maytag contracts with, and each one said something different: your loads are too small, loads are too big, sensor problem, timer problem, machine is tilted, etc. etc. It vents fine, they check that every time. Finally the repair company said if they had to come again, they would CHARGE US. Even though they had never fixed it and the machine is brand new. We have no idea what to do. Best Buy won't take it back after 14 days. Maytag is unresponsive, despite multiple attempts. We feel like we splurged on a machine we thought we could trust, and now our family is stuck with this lemon, that requires 2-3 cycles PER LOAD to get clothes dry. I will add, if you take it OFF of the energy efficient setting, it does a bit better. But we cant believe we paid for an energy efficient dryer that doesn't dry. :( I hope this review saves someone the hassle and the money that this machine has cost/is costing us.
