      I hope that trying us out will improve your preference for McAfee. We have worked hard to have the best antivirus protection available while also reducing impact to the system performance by utilizing the cloud for the heavy lifting. We also are working on informing customers of the action we are taking to keep them safe, but trying to keep those to be unobtrusive so they don't take you away from the things you need to do.     I would not buy this for a Mac laptop if you have the new update it won’t have the firewall component on and you’ll have to wait for the update .mot switch your firewall on the firewall on your Mac . Which idk how long until it will come so I would choose wisely and read more about this product.

    Bought this with the hope of removing Virus on my PC. It never completely install and always hang close to 87%? So I called the support center and for 4 hours tried installing and uninstalling using their tools. Until they elevated the situation to their specialist who is asking me to pay additional fees because they said they need to remove a virus . Well Hello!? The reason why I bought this software is for that reason, and they are asking for additional fees?! Totally ridiculous. They should place in their display IF YOUR PC HAS A VIRUS YOU HAVE TO PAY ADDITIONAL FEES TO INSTALL THIS SOFTWARE.

      Hi - I'm sorry you have been frustrated by this. It is a lot easier to block a virus from infecting your system than to clean it off after it has done so. However, let me explain what you can do. I assume that if the install got to 87%, you were able to set up a McAfee account. You can sign up for auto-renewal by going to Settings, Auto-Renewal settings and then turn it on. You will need to enter a credit card number, but you won't be charged until 30 days prior to expiry. Once you are enrolled in auto-renew, then the virus removal service is free. Contact support again once you have enrolled and ask them to clean your system. Our Virus Protection Pledge states that we can either clean your system, or you get your money back (additional terms apply). If they do clean your system, you can cancel auto-renew at any time, although being enrolled in auto-renew also gives you access to VPN software as well as ensuring you are always protected.       I'm very sorry you've had this experience. We have worked very hard to try and detect viruses before they infect your system, but that simply isn't always possible to do every time at the rate at which new malware is being developed (we find more than 4 new samples every second of every day). What you can do is enroll for auto-renewal, which will also enroll you in our Virus Protection Pledge. If you get a virus, we will remove it for free. If you go throughout the year with no viruses, you can cancel auto-renewal and buy it on sale at Best Buy and then re-enroll in auto-renew.     I purchased and downloaded this to protect my computer and it actually caused problems. After downloading this a few weeks later I kept getting a blue screen and it would restart my computer. Most horrible thing when my son had to use my computer for home learning due to the coronavirus. Had to uninstall from my computer.

    My computer was working great before installing this antivirus program. I’m so disgusted! Now I have to have my computer repaired! Never will I purchase another similar item from this maker.

    Bought McAfee when I bought computer and then was charged by McAfee with an automatic debit of my account without my consent. Very unhappy with McAfee. I did not authorize this charge, should there not be a law against this

      I'm sorry this has happened. Did you pay for it and then were charged again? That is not supposed to happen and of that is the case, then you should be able to get a refund. Please contact our support department at service.mcafee.com or 866-622-3911 and they should be able to help you. Your payment to Best Buy should be all you need to pay for the first year. It also sounds like you signed up for auto-renewal which is the only way I know we would even have your credit card. You should not be charged for 1 year after purchase and that service is optional. You can cancel at any time by going into Auto-renewal settings and cancelling. You can have your credit card number deleted. Please let me know if I can help you further. McAfeeBizDevelopment

    I Installed the virus protection months ago and it didn’t seem to protect my computer. I ended up getting a virus and the laptop is unable to load windows.

Unfortunately, there is no such thing as 100% protection from viruses unless your device is completely blocked from all external access - which then also makes the device pretty useless.     This antivirus product did network on my iMac,I 'am out the money on this product.Best Buy wouldn't give me a refund so I'am out the money.

      Are you saying you redeemed the code and it is telling you it is already expired? You will likely need to contact our support team at service.mcafee.com or 866-622-3911. If the code is invalid and you can supply proof of purchase, they can supply you with a new code. Just to be sure, though, it could be that you have a trial on your system and that is what has expired. Have you gone through the installation steps with the new code? To do so, go to https://www.mcafee.com/activate and follow the on-screen instructions. It will uninstall a trial if one is installed. If you have done that already, then you will need to contact support as I mentioned above. Please let me know if I can do anything further to help. McAfeeBizDevelopment

    I got the free subscription when I purchased my laptop of this version and it was amazing! Sends you a letter each month of a breakdown of what they protected you and what you can do to do better. Will go out a purchase this today as the sale price is cheaper then the renewal price

    I've used McAfee rather regularly, but only switched recently as I couldn't find the product and due to something I've noticed: it does tend to slow down my PC. Given, it's not very common! It wasn't frequent, but very noticeable when it did. I haven't had any issue with my new program, so I can safely say it was McAfee that was causing the issue. Just something to keep in mind if you make this purchase!
