I ended up returning due to wanting the ability to record multiple shows on multiple channels at the same time and this device does not give the ability to do so. But product worked well, does require a external drive to store recordings on.

THIS DEVICE IS NOT EASY TO USE

    1. The device is not easy to use. 2. The instruction book is written in Chinglish and the type is so tiny that it is difficult to read. 3. Unless you are DIRECTLY in front of the device, it will not react to the remote. 4. Setting up and then finding a recording is an adventure. I realize this is a cheap machine but it is difficult to use. Would not recommend it!

It's a great box. The remote is nicely laid out also. The only reason I did not give it 5 starts is because at times you have to shut the box off then on, like a "reboot" because the audio & visual get on slightly different timings sometimes.

No, this is not feature rich like a Tivo, but it works fine. I have a 128gb stick and can set it to record several programs to watch later. One tuner so one program at a time. It is slow and unresponsive at times, but it does the job overall.

I use it with an old analog TV and as a stand alone DVR. With a 128 GB flash drive can get 12+ hours of OTA (over the air) recording. Only drawback does not have a Mon-Fri setting for recording- only daily, weekly and once.

I am using this with an Insignia antenna inside hung by the window. I am able to receive the local channels OK most of the time except during some weather conditions. This unit is almost identical to the Aluratek (which got fried after a power outage) but seems to have updated software. It is a overall good unit but suffers the same problems as the Aluratek. Sound sometimes does not sync with the video. The timer function works well using the EPG (program guide) but manual setup is not overly intuitive. I use a external USB HD to record programs but searching for recorded programs becomes very slow if you have a lot saved. Overall the unit works well and has a lot of features, just not all of the functions easy to maneuver.

I cut the cable recently, but wanted a way to record shows from an OTA antenna. This box has worked great, a bit of throwback to days of a VCR. Biggest complaint is I wish there was a way to "delete" channels it finds. Lots of channels to go through when programming it.

This is a way to record TV programs that are free, over the air, via an antenna. The operation of this DVR requires lots of clicks on the remote, At a $30 price point, that is tolerable. It's used to record Gomer Pyle, broadcast locally on MeTV. A feature that is a plus is the TV guide that pops up when the INFO button is pressed. This DVR is reminiscent of first generation VCRs in the 1970s. No frills. Records and plays back.

This was one of the most reasonably priced digital recorders. It was a savior when the cable company dropped our local channel. Picked up our football game from the antenna while we were engaged in another activity.

As a home theater enthusiast I am happy I purchased this tuner. It has Dobly Digital output, and it sets up perfectly with my universal remote. Only downside it pausing and recording has a delay when you activate it.

Was helping a friend move his TV but he didn’t want to disconnect his coax antenna cable. Well do to dress on the cable the coax connector snapped off his QLED amTV. Purchased this for him to see if it would make it he could re-connect his antenna for TV Gain. Hooked up the coax to it and HDMI cable between it and his TV. Turned on the box and it went into an easy to follow set up including channel scan. Once finished it was up and running. Even the TV’s guide was working showing what is on and what will be on. This saved him from replacing a $3000 plus TV. He loves it.

Well...it records the shows I want. Bottom Line: If you enjoy trying to figure things out yourself, this is the box for you! The instructions...well, Google HW-150PVR Manual and see for yourself. The interface is less than intuitive, but you can figure it out. You'll need two AAA batteries, a thumb drive or some external hard drive, and a coaxial cable. Overall, it is one of the lower-priced options on the market, so you get what you pay for.

This converter box is a lot nicer than my old one, and I hooked it up to my old RCA TV that still works. I love the extra features and the ease of the buttons on the remote as I have problems with my right hand. One thing that impressed me was that when you activate the program guide, you can see what the show you are about to watch is about. My old Magnavox one didn't do that!

The best feature of this converter box was the technical support I received by phone. The agent helped pulled up the manual for my tv model on his computer and then was able to help me attach the indoor antenna, attach the other cables, and then set the channels for me to get reception from my local stations. He was extremely patient with me, even when I had to switch batteries from the tv remote back and forth to the converter box remote. In other words, he was outstanding.

I ordered one of these several months ago and I really liked it. So this is the second one I bought. I was still using a VCR with my old analog TVs and now I use these with those same older TVs. I then view the recording on an HDTV (although I could watch the recording on my analog TVs) via a flash drive or an external hard drive that I insert in a couple of LG blu ray players and the picture quality is excellent. Now I don't have to be home when I want to record something, so much easier now.

The tuner in my TV stopped working and I was contemplating a football season with no TV, or replacing it for many hundreds of dollars. BUT, the HDMI inputs worked, so I ran out, bought this (on sale, even) hooked it up via HDMI and in less than five minutes had the game on! For the price it is quite well made, works perfectly and saved football for me. If this happens to you, go get one!
