I had problems with the remote. It went through 2 pairs of good quality batteries in 12 days. Unit would record. Price wise, you get what you pay for. I returned mine to a local store and had no issues returning it.

I bought this converter box to get tv channels without cable. I have an old 25 inch floor model tv as that is the kind i prefer because my young grandkids like to sit on floor and look at tv without raising their heads back. It worked perfect. So glad i can have tv and not pay high cable prices

I hoped this convertor box would have worked with my 2009 HDTV, with a antenna for local programming. The TV was in the middle of the changeover from analog to digital. Unfortunately, I tried everything and determined; it just wasn't compatible with my tv along with the antenna acording to Sharp. The directions provided in the manual by Mediasonic were not helpful with troubleshooting. I gave up and will return the convertor box and the digital antenna.

I have had two previous DVR's of which each failed in its own way. One required a computer and too many points of failure, the other was internet based and the signal was always pixelating. This is a fully self-contained system with HDMI out for a fantastic signal. Does work best with an external hard drive rather than a flash drive. Gives me about 12-18 hours of program information for recording. Not a Tivo, but for the limited amount of OTA recording I do, this is great!

works as advertised, has HDMI, RCA and antenna jacks so connects to almost any device. Note that should be careful if changing filenames on the computer because can be multiple files generated for one tv show. Make sure new file prefixes match, and the the new file extensions exactly match the old ones..I suggest you keep copy of original files until you get the hang of how exactly to change filenames and know that they work on both the DVR and the computer.

It has a HDMI, Coax and Red,White and Yellow rca output. Can record with the front usb port.

Easy setup and user interface fairly simple. Only picking up 15 channels. More than likely need better antenna. Good for the price.

Does a basic job. Channels are inconsistent, sometimes there, sometimes not. General reception is good, but signal becomes lost regularly.

it will pick up a weak signal that some hdtv's cannot handle. i can record the program on this unit or watch it on the hdmi port of my tv. if in standby mode it will still allow you to watch your tv on the selected channel.

I Switched from cable to amplified TV antenna. This item helped to receive numerous channels!

Does a good job recording off the air (antenna) but remote has slow response to commands, Used with 64gb USB thumb drive.

Yes, it does record but: it does not show a timer is set it does not show when it's recording no way to see how much recording time left on the flash drive recorded pic is good quality, but keeps digitizing, then voice does not match with sound Cannot record Satellite TV For those of us with no DVR's, we have NO options! DVD recorders are no longer available either. Why can't we just bring back DVD recorders?!!

great for cable cutters, simple interface and allows media player, works good records your tv shows on schedule or on demand , without all the extra subscriptions fees .

Although I wanted to spend less for an antenna I would seldom use, after I set it up it really was much better than I expected, and was way better than the one it replaced. And I haven't even used some of the better features since it is for an old analog tv. As it turns out it was a very good buy.

At times will not copy a program that I have programmed into it—even though it shows up as scheduled to be copied.
