Decent remake, nothing special but worth a play if you enjoyed the original

No the best remastered game , but good for the Sony repertory

They remastered this classic game, flaws and all.. so just be aware.

It's a remake from PS1 game with the same title. the game company enhanced the graphics from the original version but the gameplay is too old fashioned. Do not recommend for millenials.

I bought hoping for a reboot but was strongly mistaken. They updated the graphics and is a little smoother than before.

Stay away from this "remaster". Even for thirty bucks the game is the same as the Playstation one with low budget efforts to make it look better

Fun to play the old games again but was hoping for a little bit of an upgrade and change to make it easier and more fun to play!

Game could have easily been 60 fps. Would have made the game way better. Luckily got it on sale.

Maybe I'm just older now but they included the same floaty combat and I don't have the time to replay a level, guess I'm used to checkpoints now.

Can't recommend this enough, as long as you approach it knowing it is solidly a faithful remake of the first game. Some mechanics have been reworked: camera, moving in 3rd person, graphics and animation obviously, but is otherwise a clone of the original. Point is, if you liked the original PS1 classic, you'll love this one, if you didn't, this won't save it. There are too many negative reviewers online criticizing it for being too similar to the original when it's doing exactly as intended. If you've never played Medievil before or want to relive one of your favorite childhood classics, you won't be disappointed.

Let me start by saying that I'm not new to MediEvil. I got the original shortly after it's release in 1998, and it became one of my all time favorites. So, when my best friend told me about this remake, I couldn't get it quick enough. After all, he had the game a few days before me back in 1998 and is an even bigger fan. I didn't expect this remake to be this good, and it has pulled me in just like the original did. There were minor tweaks made here and there, but these only serve to improve the quality of the game as well as keep veterans of the original on their toes. Things like the level design, puzzles, and soundtrack are as great as ever. However, some of the sound effects fall a bit short of the original, but this doesn't take away from the greatness of this remake at all. Also, be sure to find all of the Lost Souls once that opens up. It is very worth it. All in all, this is a superb remake that will bring back happy memories for old fans, and also introduce new players to this series.
