Customers are saying

Customers regard the RoadTrip 61.6" Tripod highly for its sturdiness, light weight, and the convenience of its monopod conversion. The tripod's compact size and reasonable price are also appreciated, along with the smooth ball head; however, some users have experienced issues with the leg extension mechanism.

Ball head failure soon after purchase

A tripod is only as good as it's ball head. The one on mine failed after only 1/2 dozen or so uses in fine weather and less than 6 months from new. Otherwise stored in the house. Larger of 2 ball head rotational controls froze. A company called Mac Group repaired it under warranty, but not good for a primary element of this tripod to fail so soon. Plus I had to pay for shipping unit in for repair. I bought an aftermarket ball head anyway. Just be aware

My only complaint is that I don't like the style of the rings that tighten up the legs. I would prefer lever style.

It felt very sturdy and well made, but after a few months it fell apart. For the price of this product I expected a professional result. Unfortunately that was not the case. I do not suggest this product.

If you happen to loose the legs all the way, the will simply fall out and good luck getting them back in and it working like it should.

Hello every one, I bought this tripod because i had a trip to NY and i wanted to take some long exposure pictures, the friction dial broke after only 3 days of use and now i have to send the head back to the company and i dont know how. also the gripe of the mount (the base that sits on the camera) was not grippy and my camera was always sliding when i used my Nikon14-24

This is my first decent tripod and I must say, it made a huge difference on my recent trip. I hiked miles with it attached to my backpack and barely noticed it was there. I was in 0 degree Fahrenheit temperatures, with windchill in the negative. The tripod worked through it all; ice and snow. I hope the MeFOTO holds up for years to come. I visited Best Buy stores and tinkered with various brands, but am confident I made the correct choice. The added benefit of converting to a monopod really makes this product versatile!
