Customers are overwhelmingly positive about the game quality, art book, and special edition, with many praising the game's high quality and the impressive art book. Positive feedback also highlights the steelbook's appearance. However, customers are negative about the packaging and condition of the product upon arrival, citing damage and concerns about the quality of shipping. Arrived late, have not opened it yet. It is huge and was told there was a steelbook, artcards, and a artbook. I didn't get the tech decals, a fancy name for stickers. Maybe will go back and ask for some stickers since it is a free item. I did get a wine card giftcard so was that for compensation for the free bonus item or bestbuy was trolling me?

Everything you’d need in a metroidvania. It feels like classic Metroid, but with a breath of fresh air. The special edition steelbook is really nice as well. Just sad it only comes with the steelbook and not original case too.

Metroid Dread is exactly what I'd hoped for in a modern 2D Metroid game. Probably one of the best new games I've played in 2021. To top it off the special edition actually feels nice and premium. Definitely worth a buy.

The steel book case and art book are nice. Only complaint I have is best buy shipping a hard to get collector's edition in a bubble mailer. Thankfully any and all damage is really hard to see. Also, loving the game so far

Smooth and fluid gameplay, visuals are beautiful and the collectors items are great for fans. Game is a solid 10/10. Only complaint is most companies, Best Buy included, did not package the item well and it arrived damaged.

I can't even began to explain how good this one is. Yes, it's side scrolling. Yes, there are more graphically beautiful games on Switch and other systems. But... my god. Is this game good. One of the best games I played in 2021. It would be my favorite Switch game in 2021 if not for Monster Hunter Rise. The sound design, art style, and animations are all absolutely amazing. The game runs at 60fps most of the time as well. The gameplay is overall solid with amazing powers, lots of hidden items, and great level design but the jumping can unpredictable at times, especial when you get the double jump but don't have space jump. Still though, I can see this being a GOTY nominee and winner. Solid game.

Everyone seems to agree that this game is Game of the Year! I've always loved Metroid, and this game really lives up to all expectations. The special edition was a little expensive, but it was so worth it!

Nintendo outdid themselves with this game. Very cool graphics with very nice story and balanced difficulty game play. It can also be replayed in various difficulties and speed time for extra bonus material

The special edition is worth every penny to me, the art book is amazing, the art cards and steelbook are also cool. The foam that holds the art cards and game have E.M.M.I imprinted into it which is a cool touch.

Metroid Dread sees the franchise return to the realm of 2D for the first time in nearly twenty years. With gorgeous 3D designs presented in a traditional format, the game features smooth movement across the board for Samus and the aliens she must battle as she uncovers the mysterious reappearance of the X parasites, culminating in an earth-shattering revelation. The special edition features some amazing bonuses. From the steelbook gamecase which includes the cartridge of the game, artcards depict the key Metroid titles of the past 35 years, while the artbook shows an amazing array of character, creature, and environmental designs that will satisfy the curiosity of any fan of the series.

Absolutely beautiful Special Edition, right down to the packaging design. The art book is very substantial and worth the extra money on its own. And of course the game itself is phenomenal.

The art book in this set is amazing. I usually do not get the special editions, because they aren’t worth it. This one is worth it though.

Best game on the switch, if you are Metroid fan, I would highly recommended getting this one if you can find one. It came with a art book and steel book, unfortunately it does not comes with a regular case with the game. Lose one star because the box was a little damaged on the corner.

Great special additions that includes hardcover art book, collector foil cards, and a great steel book. The aRat book alone is worth the $30 difference, but the steel case is an added bonus. Unfortunately these are being shipped in mailer and are coming damaged.

Great for its price! It comes with a nice artbook and bonus. What I like about this game is that it feels like the older Metroid games, unlike the prime ones.

Really cool special edition set for the Metroid fan! It's a bit pricey, but given it's so hard to find, it's definitely worth it if you're really into Metroid and can get it. And to top it off, Metroid Dread is a great game too!

Absolutely amazing, worth the nearly two decade wait. Metroid Dread is the 5th main side scrolling Metroid game, a series about exploring a vast interconnected world, where you need to find new abilities to progress forward. As a follow-up on Metroid II's 3DS remake (Metroid Samus Returns), Dread expands the melee counter mechanic introduced in that game, now Samus can melee counter while running, in the air, on ledges, and even while sliding (a new mechanic to Metroid). The overall combat feels great and is the most expansive it's ever been in a side scrolling Metroid game. There's plenty of new abilities too, which makes maneuverability better than it's ever been, such as the phase shift, which allows Samus to dash forward and backward instantaneously. The story is great too, and as a longtime fans, it takes twists and turns I didn't expect. It greatly expands upon the lore of the series too, specifically about the Chozo. Some of the scenes (which I won't spoil) gave me chills, they are that great. The music is very moody and atmospheric, and is almost entirely comprised on new compositions (as opposed to the series tradition of heavy use of remixes) which I felt was a great way to give Dread its own unique identity in the Metroid series. Overall, a 10/10 game, one of the best on the Switch. The Special Edition items are great, I really love the artbook which has art throughout the 2D series, as well as a large section of Dread concept art. The art cards are nice as well. I really love the steel book, it looks and feels nice.
