The visuals are awesome. It has great graphics and the music is eerie and intriguing. The action is fast paced and fun, levels have a great unique field to them and it’s just the right balance of challenge and progression. I enjoyed the game very much. I’m still working my way through it. I’m about 80% done. Another great thing about this game is that it calls us value versus games from other consoles because it’s only on Nintendo so if you purchase it the rest assured after you finish it if you plan to sell it, you will get a lot of your money back. This is a great buy. I hope to see them make more Metroid games.

No pun intended - this is a prime example of what a modern Metroid Prime game should be. I’ve seen some mixed responses online, but as an avid fan of the series, this is truly a great place to start. I loved the story of this game, and I was completely enamored with the world design and visual storytelling throughout. To me, this is the best Prime game to date. I adore how Retro Studios crafted a unique and beautiful alien world. Please, please try this out if you’re even remotely interested. It’s a stunner!

It does not take long for Metroid Prime 4 to throw out any facade of being a Metroid game. The art and sound design are spot-on, but your attempts to soak in the atmosphere will be dampered by being constantly told where to go, what to do, what you're looking at, etc. The mouse controls and 120fps output make this one of the smoothest games Nintendo have ever released, but the gameplay is dragged down by every area being built like a level to be completed instead of a part of an interconnected world. Thankfully, as a basic first-person shooter, the game is *good,* but it falls short of being great. Mainly, this is because it regularly sacrifices gameplay to further its story, but that story is abysmal. Like, genuinely astonishingly bad. Do yourself a favor and pick up the significantly better (and cheaper) Metroid Prime Remastered instead.

After 8 long years since it was announced, we finally have Metroid Prime 4. The visuals are excellent, the gameplay is terrific, the psychic powers and weapons are fun to use, and the boss fights are good. While the open world aspect is rather barren and the supporting characters are one-note, I still enjoyed my time with this game and I recommend it.

Maybe I'm not in alignment with many other reviewers, but I thought this game was outstanding: the graphics, the art design; the music; the setting; the boss fights are all top notch. The story is so-so and could have been better but I don't exactly look for Academy-Award winning story telling in video games. Many people have derided the desert, but I actually liked it and driving around exploring it. It has a certain eery desolation that in my opinion complements the other aspects of the game.

The first couple hours were a disappointment as it only feels like a Metroid Prime game in gameplay, though once it eventually let me explore I was happier. Open world was not a great choice in this particular execution as the planet feels lifeless between zones that have no connection outside of the open world that I traversed between them.

This game was absolutely amazing. I had a blast with it. But honestly I would have given it a higher rating if it wasn't such a hassle to get from Best Buy. Overall still an incredible game and don't worry the characters are annoying but don't last long so it really feels like a Metroid game at times. 9.5/10

I love the Metroid Prime series and 4 is a great addition. The only downside of 4 is the new motorcycle mechanic. It is just boring and doesn't feel good to drive or fight with. Everything else is great. The game looks great on the Switch 2 and plays just like a Metroid Prime game should. It is also on the cart and not a game key card.
Some really good moments but also lots of bad ones

There is so much artificial padding in this game and the desert is awful. The graphics are amazing and the 120 fps mode is dope. Volt forge and the ice zone are really good, but not much else of the game is that great. Also has AWFUL writing.

I have enjoyed this game quite a bit. It has pretty decent exploration even though there is a fair bit of hand holding. I didn’t find the NPC’s extremely annoying only slightly here and there. It has an open world area that feels forced into the game, but the main areas are solid. I have played all of the Metroid Prime Games to completion, 4 is not the best one but it’s definitely the best looking one. I would say it was worth the price to play it.

The Metroid Prime Trilogy defined my childhood growing up. After 18 long years, Prime 4 is finally here. And while there are some obvious and sometimes down right frustrating flaws, the core of the Metroid Prime identity is still there, and more gorgeous than ever thanks to its 4K and 120hz offerings. Not the best in the series, but still a memorable experience.

Its a pretty good game, but it is different than previous prime games. It does not hide its linearity very well and doesnt have many new things. It has pretty fun combat, but its a just a bit more refined version of any previous metroid prime game. I enjoyed it, but there are a lot of problems that I overlooked.

The visuals are impressive and gameplay is unique, different than other Metroid games still very good. Some people are giving lower ratings saying not quite the same but each game should be different. They're a high expectations because the game took so long but it had to go in a different direction. I like what I have played so far.
