A Stylish Smartwatch with the Emphasis on Style

There are a lot of Smart Watches on the market, but this one has a stylish look to go along with its smart features. Features: • Heart rate tracking • Text/email alerts • Built-in fitness tracking • Social media updates • Voice-activated Google Assistant uses built-in microphone • Smart help from Google • App notifications • GPS distance tracking • Google Tap Payment technology • Compatible with iPhone® and Android™ phones • Powered by Wear OS by Google™ • AMOLED display: active-matrix organic light-emitting diode • Display animation • Silicone strap • Black-tone nylon case • Extra buckle included to use with interchangeable straps • Water resistant down to 98 FEET (30M) • 2-year warranty PROS: - This watch is partially a fashion statement and it’s nice to have a selection of bands and faces of different colors and textures. I plan to get a leather band that is more minimal and my personal style. There are free Apps in the Google Store that offer even more watch faces to choose from. - The watch does not look excessively “Gadgetie” or “Techie” and is suitable for women as well as men. - Very quick charging. From Low Bat to 80% charge in 50 minutes using an included USB to magnetic watch connector cable. CONS: - Screen is a little slow to respond to finger inputs. - No built-in speaker. - Less onboard RAM than some comparable watches. Conclusion: The Michael Kors - Access MKGO Smartwatch is skewed a little more to style than high end features. However, if sharp visual design and a fashion brand name are important, this is a good choice.

Nice Daily Driver Wear OS Watch

Visually, the Michael Kors Access MKGO Smartwatch lands somewhere between the fashion and fitness segments of the smartwatch market. Its matte black metal body, separated by a bare metal band, is visually attractive. Yet the branded silicone band presents more of sport watch appearance. From a build perspective, the watch is super light. Strikingly so, actually. The physical side buttons and crown have a solid feel to them. The band, which is super soft and very comfortable to wear, features an easy release pin so it can be swapped for other bands. On the surface this seems nice but allows for a slight amount of slop between the band and the watch body. For me, the watch was very dead out of the box and required charging just to turn it on. Charging is accomplished via a proprietary cable (shared across the Michael Kors and Fossil brands) that makes a physical connection; no wireless charging. An AC adapter is not included. After it was charged, setup was a snap on my Pixel 3XL using the Wear OS app. Instructions on both the watch and the phone app are clear and easy to follow. Regarding performance, the device has been stable, generally responsive and animations have been smooth. Step and heart rate tracking have proven consistent. And the battery has comfortably gotten through a day of mixed use without the device draining and shutting off. As an aside, this watch features the newer 3100 Snapdragon chipset. So while the MKGO performance has been acceptable, I had expected more of a leap in responsiveness and battery life. Wear OS continues to be, if nothing else, just acceptable. It boots quickly and does what I need it to, but brings little innovation to the space. I am having an issue with Google Pay and adding an existing payment method to the watch, but I believe that may be an issue with my personal accounts and not something systemic to the watch. Maybe. In the end, the Michael Kors Access MKGO is a nice daily driver Wear OS watch that performs fine.

Very Little to Get Excited About

I really wanted to like this watch. It looked really nice and I haven’t had an Android Wear OS smart watch in several years, so I thought it would be more polished. I was very wrong. If you are using an iPhone, I can’t think of any reason to recommend this watch. Out of the box things look good, the watch looks nice and of good quality however, for me things hit a snag almost immediately. Wear OS is probably the main problem. Though, the sub par processor and low ram couldn’t help. It’s slow, buggy, not smooth at all, and lacks apps worth using. With an iPhone you can’t do basic fitness tracking sync your calendar and view notifications, though sometimes the notifications don’t even show up. You can’t interact with those notifications, which makes the watch not near as useful as other products. What’s even more annoying is that to get apps on the watch you have to use the google play store on the watch and the watch has to be connected to WiFi. The whole experience is awful. The biggest problem I had was trying to get my work calendar to sync to the watch, only to find out there is no way to sync exchange calendars to the watch. The watch itself isn’t very comfortable either. The clasp dug into my arm after wearing it for a while and even loosening it didn’t help. It does have the standard Android Wear OS interchangeable bands so, you could switch it out. Battery life is pretty awful too. If you do anything other than just let the watch sit on your wrist to tell time and pop up notifications, you won’t get a full day out of it. This would have been fine several years ago but, not with other options out there. Overall, there really isn’t much to like. It may be cheaper than some other options but, this is one time where you get what you pay for. If all you’re looking for is something to tell time and show notifications from your phone this may work but, if you want anything else, looks elsewhere.

    Sleak, feature-rich smartwatch

Access MKGO by Michael Kors has enough bells and whistles to stand out in the growing smartwatch market. Fully featured in a simple, black-banded design, the MKGO is made for the modern consumer constantly on the go. The watchband is rubber, so right off the bat you may feel a little underwhelmed. However, once you wear it and take a few minutes to set up the interface, it's clear this is a top-notch accessory. It is advertised as water-resistant and able to submerge in water almost 100 feet deep. The touchscreen display is customizable, with loads of options readily available and more to download, all accessible with a few taps or presses of the display. This screen is large and vibrant - reading texts, checking caller ID, or looking at song titles or podcast episode names is no trouble at all. Battery life seems standard - at the end of the day, you should become accustomed to taking the watch off and charging it with the included USB charger. On the off-chance I forgot to remove the watch before bedtime, I was able to get a full-day charge (with limited use that day) in only a half hour the next morning. Lastly, the Google Wear OS app connects the watch to your smartphone, but it is really a formality, as almost all functions can be accessed from the watch display, which is a real plus in my book. Those functions are plentiful, and after over a week of use, I'm still discovering more apps and things to tinker with. Standard smartwatch fare like weather, stopwatch, timer, calendar access, and heartrate are all easily accessible and function without issue. Depending on how much access you allow, it is surprising how much you can now do from your wrist rather than pulling out your mobile. This can't be overstated; checking on texts or emails (not to mention responding to them easily using the swipe-to-text functions), reading notifications, and in my case, even connecting to my front door camera to view who is delivering a package is all possible without reaching into your pocket for your phone anymore. The Access MKGO is a game-changer if you're in the market for a smartwatch that won't break the bank. It looks and feels great, it's loaded with features, and it can be customized to fit your look and lifestyle. This one is easy to recommend. Full disclosure, I received this product for my honest, unbiased review.

    Nice watch

This is my first smart-watch so written from a novice perspective. Watch comes with charging cord but no charger, I used my phone charger to initially charge it. Once charged will last 2 full days and possibly 3 with lite use. At the end of the 3rd day it was at 0. Simple set-up, install the Google wear program, follow the directions for Bluetooth installation and in about 10 min you're all set. Watch comes with a very nice selections of faces and can easily change on the fly. Nice feature. Withing many of the faces you can customize the display to meet individual needs such as multiple time zones, heart rate, steps, etc. Touch face of the watch is somewhat intermittent and may require several attempts to get it to respond, at other times it is almost instantaneous. Same with the gestures feature, sometimes it works sometimes you have to push the button to bring the display to life (although setup allows you to leave the display on full time). Step counter is not at all reliable, I can be sitting at my desk working and add 2000 steps. I've tried to see if it counts based on a specific type of wrist movement but haven't been able to locate it. The display is clear, easy to read and has rich colors. One big draw back is the thick rubber band for fastening the watch. Does not retain wearer memory so it is a fight to latch with one hand if you have a big wrist like I do. All in all I like the watch, like being able to control music from my wrist or decline phone calls or read text and email. Work out the bugs and I'd add another star or two.

The watch is nice, all black, and very sleek looking. I thought it was kind of small I guess paying a little extra is worth it so you can get a nice size and good looking smart watch. The watch itself feels kind of like they left out the opportunity for a sturdy sports smart watch. Its made out of plastic and so are the wrists but that is good if you are working out. The package comes with charging cable, booklet, and smart watch. I can change the background of my watch, add spotify , get text alerts, and a couple of other stuff. It is water resistant, you can make phone calls out of it, but I don't know if I can make them without my cellphone? You'll need to download the app to get the most of this watch. I did notice if you close the app you cannot use all the features. A message will display when it is disconnected it gets annoying at times. I think its a good fit for a fitness watch but for every day work thing I think I'll go with the more professional looking watches. I do like the watch as a fitness or active watch. I just feel that there is a lot of room for improvements. I never really used MK products but this is an okay start to the smart watch/fitness products.

I was disappointed to find out this watch does not have a speaker, so you cannot make or receive phone calls with it. It does have vibration for alerts, and you can connect to earbuds to listen to streaming music. You can use Google Assistant but the responses are written, not verbal, since it has no speaker. There are a variety of Google apps that are compatible including Google Fit so you can use it for fitness, and also it has NFC function so you can also use it for Google Pay. It's really too bad that it doesn't have a speaker, otherwise I would give it 4-5 stars.

I've had this watch for a few days now. It was easy to setup. I'm an android user so it was a quick download from the google play store. As a watch, it keeps great time. As a smartwatch, I love how you can change the watch faces to match your mood or clothing. It does everything a smartwatch should in 2019, the only problem I have js the battery life is not that great. Be prepared to charge nightly. Therefore, 4 stars.

    Great smartwatch experience

This is my first experience with a smartwatch and so far I have to say that I am very pleased with this Michael Kors smartwatch. Yes, it doesn't come with a very explicit owner's manual, but if you have set up any smart device, then this will be a breeze. You will need to charge it for about 30 minutes before setting it up. It comes with a charging cord, but no cube. Once it is charged, just download the Wear OS and you are off and running, literally if you want. I love how you can change the faces, it comes with 56 and you can download more if you want. It has 3 digital crown buttons that perform a different task. The top crown takes you to your options for watch faces, the second one allows you to scroll through your icons and the third crown takes you to Google fit where you can keep track of your steps and heart rate. The watch has stayed connected to my phone even from 30 feet away. The main reason why I got this watch is because I don't like to carry my phone around and with this watch I can determine if I need to go to my phone or just keep working. It will of course let you answer text messages and answer calls. As long as it has decent charge, I can swipe without any lag. Once the watch is low on juice, I noticed that the swiping wasn't as consistent. If you start at 100 % in the morning, the charge will last all day long. If you do forget to charge it overnight, it won't take more than 30 minutes to quickly recharge in the morning. If you are looking to take a break from constantly having your phone with you, I highly recommend this Michael Kors smartwatch.

Wear OS is Wear OS. It doesn't differ significantly from device to device. I wouldn't classify it as a great watch OS, but it works pretty well and gets the job done. However, the OS as it may be, Michael Kors has designed a truly beautiful watch with the black on black Access. The silver band around the case makes it pop, but not in a gaudy way. I've found the touch screen to be bright and responsive, though there is inherent lag in Wear OS that can, at times, make you think your touch was not accepted. I've also been impressed with battery life. I can get 2 days on a charge. Note that using the GPS will decrease battery life considerably, so make sure you have a good charge before enabling it. And if you use/plan to use Google Pay, the Access supports NFC so you're good to go. Lastly, I used to think I would never own a smartwatch. But once you wear one, you'll never want to be without it. The Michael Kors Access is a great example of what a smartwatch should be. It's knock-down gorgeous, has a great screen, and good battery life.

    super cheap android watch

I have bought and worn all different types of smartwatches, including several that run Wear OS. This is by far the worst one I've worn. Build quality is extremely cheap. It was difficult to initially pair with an iPhone 11 Pro, and once it was setup, it never managed to connect again. Nothing would work: restarting the phone, the app, the watch, toggling bluetooth. Nothing. It would not work with iOS. It would however pair and stay connected to a Pixel 3. But then you're still working with a watch from the very bottom of the Wear OS line. There was problematic lag between touching the screen and getting a response from the watch, sometimes causing an incorrect selection from the next menu. If you dig deep in the options, there are some attractive watch faces available, particularly if you tweak the color settings. However, I could never get it to read heart rate, so you might as well skip that complication on your watch face. So, don't buy this if you only have an iPhone, and if you have an Android phone, only if you're willing to trade quality for price.

I wanted to like this watch so I took extra time with it before posting a review. This could have been a way better smart watch. First when you think of Michael Kors, it’s fashionable, classy, looks good, quality products. This watch has none of those qualities. I don’t like the side buttons makes it look like a old school stop watch, the silicone band is low quality feels cheap. The interface lacks smart watch, limited capabilities. The os isn’t smooth feel like I spending too much time to navigate through the watch rather than having everything visible and easily accessible. I wanted more from this watch. I have found that the watches from phone manufacturer are the ones that give you the best option for best user interface. This watch should come with a metal or leather band for premium of the name, take away the stopwatch buttons and just have a normal watch button, bigger screen if it’s going to be round. User friendly interface.

My husband bought me this watch back in February for Valentine's day, I was so excited to charge it and start wearing it. I followed instructions put it to charge and noticed that the battery was counting backwards while charging (I.e. going from 70% charging to 60 % charging) I found it odd but kept it plugged in. I only got to use my watch for about 2 weeks and it died now it won't charge turn on or anything. So bummed. A 150.00 down the drain.
