Definitely a good one when compared to other Fitness Bands. But I dint like the horizontal display. It looks very difficult to read the Notifications.

I am really enjoying this band. I have been late fewer times because of the reminder. I am taking more steps because of the step counter. I feel less tethered to my phone because I can see my appts, texts, incoming calls when I want to...or I can turn off some notifications and not others. I used to think it looked too big. But I changed my mind because of the functionality.

I was already active and knew my stats on training and eating healthy. I really enjoyed the sleep tracking. It showed how long i thought i was sleeping then how much i really did sleep. which helped me figure other things out. although i thought i could hook it up to other apps to log progress it was a little harder to do that since it was a windows and not apple product.

Generally speaking, I've been pretty happy with the purchase. The Microsoft Band2 was a replacement for a Fitbit Flex that died twice in 18 months. Not in the habit of wearing a watch, so it took a little bit to get adjusted. The Microsoft Health site and app are good, but could stand for a bit of improvement. Overall, pleased with the performance and would buy it again.

The band benefits from sturdy construction, and it can be worn on the inside or outside of either wrist. The locking mechanism is strong and easy to affix the watch to my wrist. This is important to me because I have lost two other devices as they were scraped or ripped from my arm while I was engaged in water activities. I wear the watch on the outside of my wrist where it gets banged up pretty much. This sounds silly, but I suggest a screen protector. Likely I should be more careful... I leave the Band in 'Airplane' mode most of the time to conserve energy. Lots of modes for running, walking, sleeping, etc. I am anxious to try 'Golf' mode which syncs with Taylor made mygolfpro(tm) website for golf course information and tracking. Like all of these devices charging takes good planning. The band burns a lot of energy particularly with GPS and or Bluetooth mode enabled. I would recommend this to a friend only if they have a need for the types of information available. This is a little expensive for a step counter

Great Upgrade from original MS Band

Within 2-days of purchase the Band would shut down as if the battery died. But I had recently charged it fully. It would only recover when plugged in to charge. Immediately I would get a screen saying that the battery was dead followed by a screen that it had 78% charge, which it should have but it acted like it was dead. The second time it acted dead when plugged in I had 83% battery remaining. Going to MS help, I had already updated the firmware when first out of the box. I reset the band, uninstalled the app and set everything up again like the help folks suggested. 2-days later the problem repeated this time when plugged in I had 89% battery though it was acting dead. I returned my 1.5 week old MS Band 2 to MS who replaced it with a factory refurbished band :( The refurbished Band 2 works as expected with 2x the battery life of the original band. It's been 3-weeks and no further issues. I wish I could swim and kayak with it and wish it tracked water sports. Maybe when the Band 3 is released?

There weren't too many things I didn't like about this band. My wife will disagree, her review will be next. As for me, I love the Microsoft ecosystem and its seamless presentation amongst the devices, such as the Xbox one , windows 10 and the Windows phone. The only con to this device is that while it was lighter than its predecessor, it still was a bit heavy.

I purchased this mainly because I had a windows phone at the time of purchase. I loved all the bells and whistles that are on this. Aside from step counting I bought this for the email, text, call, and music control. At exactly 1 day after the warranty expired. the irreplaceable band ripped. I called microsoft and they agreed to let me mail it in and they would honor the warranty. Before I could send it to them I had a work emergency that required me to leave town for 1 month. When I got back the shipping label they provided had expired and I called them again and was told they would not reissue another one and that I was basically out of luck. I know the timing was really bad on my part, but I still cant believe they did not honor an already existing RMA. Once this broke I went to a galaxy 7 and a fitbit charge hr2. I am happy with the fitbit but I liked this much better. But in no way would I ever buy another after this one fell apart.

Comfortable design and a thoughtful software platform that has gotten better over time. Even so, there are still some kinks Microsoft needs to work out, and the short battery life in particular might be a dealbreaker for some.

I purchased the original Band after researching all the different brands. The Band had the most accurate counting of steps and exercise programs, and also integrated with windows phone and that was important. My mother liked the Band as well and i purchased on for her birthday. They were highly used and effective. The Band 2 is even better. The design of the Band 2 is a more comfortable fit. The rounded edges fit the wrist better. I like the music controls and the reliable reporting on exercise is still there. It does what I need, allowing me to see texts and emails quickly while not costing 400 or more. Great Product.

The Microsoft Band 2 has been redesigned and works very well. There are noticeable improvements in the redesign, but the actual buckle is a little bulky and scratches things as you go about your day... That being the only real negative, the technology and sleekness are awesome!! You can do so much with the unit and it works well with apple also...

Everything is good. I only use it as a fitness tracker so it works perfectly for me. The battery typically lasts just about two days since I don't use any notifications. I charged them when I shower; 20 min charge a day is enough

The Microsoft Band 2 fits more comfortably over the wrist that the original model. Also, the improved battery life is very noticable.
