The original Microsoft Band was a good fitness tracker, but Mocrosoft learned from their mistakes and made several improvements with their first revision. You can track just about everything you can think of, and control music on your phone, get phone call and text alerts, etc. The Band 2 reminds you when to get up and stretch or go for a short walk. Trust me, those little reminders help! You can tie your Band to many popular fitness sights to track your calories and more!

The style and design is much better than the first. The only problem is the battery doesn't last as long, and occasionally the band will shut off without warning, supposedly because the battery has died.

I have been wanting to buy this product since launch. Overall, this band is of good quality. The screen looks great and responsive. The heart rate monitor works reasonably well and accurate. It may not feel very comfortable initially due to the bulky battery in the back of the band, but you get used to it after a couple of weeks. I wish this band could be lighter. At the MSRP, it's not worth it, but at the sale price I got ($100), I think it's a good choice.

Microsoft really did an awesome job with this tracker. I've heard it's a huge improvement from the first one. One of the things that I love about this tracker is the fact that you do not need to install drivers or any other apps on your computer in order to sync it. In fact, all you need is to install the phone app and the phone app will do everything for you, including checking for firmware updates for your tracker, then you log on to you Microsoft health account if you want to view your results on a big screen after you're done synching your band 2 with your phone since it also updates your account in the cloud during that whole process. Highly recommend it to anyone in the market for one.

I've spent over a year with the original Microsoft Band and used it everyday and felt it was one of the best fitness bands on the market. Band 2 takes everything it did well and adds all the functions and features you'd expect on the follow up. The curved display is a nicer display and easier to navigate, the rubber on the band is thinner and more flexible, it now tracks elevation, and a scratch resistant display round out the improvements. This band does it all!

i hadn't planned on buying another fitness tracker, as I already had the UP24 but SOoo glad I did!! There are tons of features that I love about it. This is my first review to ever write so not sure how much detail I should go into, but I will mention this: a) I love that I can wear it on the inside of my wrist and display will automatically light up when I rotate my wrist to look at it. Very cool when I want to check my heart rate while working out. b) I like that I can change the display to different colors!! I found his out by trial and error. This is cosmetic of course but still a fun little feature. The only negative is that it seems to take a few minutes to sync but then again I don't think about doing it until I'm headed out the door and in a hurry. There are also tiles (or apps) that you can download to the band, which I like but wish there were more available --- I assume they will increase with popularity in the band. I also need more friends to compete against so go buy it!! Highly recommend if you're looking for a fitness tracker.

I was looking for a smart watch that did 3 things. It has to track steps, my heart rate, and reply to text messages. This does all 3, to a point. I had been looking at galaxy gear since I have a galaxy phone. The sales rep told me that samsung wasn't really updating their apps anymore and that I should go with the windows band 2 ($75 more then the Samsung ) while I do really like this watch, I wanted the option of replying to text messages and not with a tiny little keyboard or preset messages. I like the talk to text option. The rep told me that Contana (Microsoft version of siri ) would allow talk to text responses even with a galaxy phone. I just had to download the app. So I've done all that just to find out that the talk to text is only for window band 2 that are paired with windows phones. I specifically went to the store to talk to a knowledgeable sales rep only to have him sell me an expensive watch with no accurate knowledge. I've gone to bestbuy for all of my tech needs and I have to say I'm really disappointed. Overall the watch is nice. It's a bit chunky for small wrists. I almost need an extra small. I'm not sure of what all extra features it has because I don't own a windows phone. I can't even use the watch to control my music settings. Ive got 2 weeks to decide if this is worth the money to even keep it

Purchased the Band 2 hoping that it would sync walk info with the MapMyFitness web site. The GREAT news is that it does. The setup was fairly easy. You do have to use the Microsoft Health app also . I am using this with a Windows Lumia 950 XL phone. Only had a couple minor issues using it the first couple times (they were mostly user error issues). The one issue that I can not fix is that it SAVES the WALK as a RUN :( it takes 30 minutes or so after a walk for the Microsoft Health to sync up with the Band 2 after a walk but once it does, it then quickly syncs with MapMyFitness. I would have rated it a 5 if the walks would save as walks rather than as runs.

I love the features of the band 2. However, if you wear the band on your inside wrist (as recommended by many) the glass will easily get scratched. I have seen many comments that the screen protectors are not good either. I was thinking since it has gorilla glass, it would be more scratch resistant. It get scratched when typing on my computer keyboard. I have had my band 2 for just 3 1/2 weeks and it is very scratched. This is disappointing. Overall, I would recommend to a friend (if you wear it outside of wrist)

I'm a runner and this smart watch is pretty great on tracking my overall Distance, Pace, Mile splits and Heart Rate. Also, the notifications and pairing works pretty great, especially when I'm far away from my phone. It also just had an update to change your music from the watch! Only downside is, if you're an iPhone user, you won't be able to reply to texts from the Band or use Cortana, but everything else is pretty good! Also, if you're the type of person that forgets your phone somewhere in the house and wonder off and usual miss a call because of that, the watch receives incoming call notifications so you'll know when someone calls you.

I bought this so I could see the difference in my activity from before and after starting a new job. It definitely did its job in that department. The sleep tracker is cool, in sort of a bittersweet way, since I have a kid that still wakes up a couple times a night. Also there battery doesn't last as long as I'd like. It seems I need to charge it every other night. Other than that great product. Would recommend. :)

it has UV sensors and tells you to put on sun screen when it senses too much UV. heart rate is great, works on all phones so when I went from Samsung droid to apple to windows, I could use the same watch. very nice. only down side is the 3 day battery, that sucks but you get used to it. oh and I would like a speaker, that's nice to have

Looked at several (FitBit, Garmin, Solar) in different price points, opted for this one on sale ($145) and I am very happy with it. Activity and sleep analysis is thorough. Very easy to see inside or in the sun. Fairly comfortable but you will notice it when sleeping. I've worn it every day (all day/night except to shower) for a month and have had no irritation issues. Battery life is average but I top it off every night while in the shower and have not run low. On the negative side, you cannot manually add historical items to the (Web) dashboard and there is very limited connectivity to third party tracking apps. Make SURE you get the Geek Squad plan cause the strap/bracelet durability is questionable long term.

I bought this tracker after my fitbit died on me. The fitbit was good too but I spent to much time in the sauna with it. I learned my lesson. The Microsoft band 2 does everything and more. I love the bright screen display, the battery life is not that great if you're really active one day you will need to charge but if not to active, your battery will last 2 days. All in all, I'm glad I made the purchase.

We did a lot of research before purchasing a sports band seeing how sports isn't really our thing. The Microsoft band 2 added all the necessary features we were looking for. Sadly there is more function wit h Android users than Apple Phone users in that quick replies and text responses don't work with the apple products. The microphone doesn't work with either limiting its full functionality only to Windows phones but we're hopefull this will be rectified in the future.
